Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood |OT| Y'all Need to Calm Down

Oh for fuck's sake, Square has increased the price on all Steam-related FFXIV purchases in my region

Not only you make the game play shittier with a stupid server move and now you also want to charge 50% more for it? Fuck off
Just curious, what region would that be?

So savage seems easier this go around. I look forward to seeing if that's true.

The DRG buffs are nice QoL but they don't actually fix anything. The biggest thing that needs fixing is eyes being locked to botd.

Did any Dragoon seriously have trouble keeping up Blood of the Dragon with back to back WT and F&C?

I don't think anyone on the dev team actually plays Dragoon.

Brazil

Our prices are normalized due to fluctuating currencies. Before today, one time payment subscriptions and mogstation items had a fixed convertion rate of 2 USD, now they have a direct conversion of whatever the rate is at the day - currently a bit over 3 USD

The problem is keeping it up when the tank decides to stand around rather than pull in dungeons or when the boss decides to become untargetable just as you get 3 or 4 eyes.

That's not considering times when you simply fuck up the rotation, but that's somewhat understandable. It's simply not fair to have a degrading mechanic that doesn't really have a good enough payoff.

I could stomach it if nastrond got buffed to 900 potency or something ridiculous like that considering how long it takes to build eye stacks. As it is, HW botd was better.

But they didn't even touch the eyes. The mechanic that is unusable in most circumstances in either 4 man dungeons or raid/trial transitions . God forbid you make one mistake too.

It takes 90 seconds just to get to our super move, which is a 320 potency cone attack. Meanwhile Samurai is flinging their 720 potency move left and right. In an actual rotation Samurai gets its 720 potency attack out in 20 seconds.

Transition phase? All eyes are now gone. Meanwhile Samurai pops meditation and gains on their never drained Kenki gauge.

Have like 20 clusters ready to go, materia costs are so stupidly low thanks to SE throwing VI's at tanks.

"Oh good, the boss is doing a transition, there goes my entire mechanic that I just spent the last 70 seconds working on"

To add insult to injury, sen is permanent

Just when I thought the Savage "story" couldn't get more dumb and meaningless, SE outdid themselves. But, I guess I'm in the 0.1% of people who care about this so whatever. Just ANY effort would be nice.

I just went to renew my sub saw that, what the hell -_-

I already have to deal with shitty latency. This is stupid.

Can't wait to see how much maps are going for on the marketplace, and then go gather some.

Have two of them stored, but I'm going to try for that catfish minion before I start selling these maps. Have all gatheres at 70 so these maps will just keep flowing in lol.

I unlocked Savage on accident while running around on GSM getting master V books this morning.

I have no idea what the plot justification is, but I feel like a crafter clicking on a thing shouldn't lead to SAVAGE IS NOW UNLOCKED

unless I can craft somebody to death

Removed the macros from my NIN. I was able to get everything to fit in my preferred hotbar layout, thankfully. It does require a bit more manual dexterity to execute everything, but you guys were right, my rotation doesn't require mashing anymore, and overall it just feels smoother.

Thanks for the tips!

My AST and DRK don't use macros, so nothing to worry about there. I'll have to remap my MCH and RDM though. I got...creative...with RDM macros, haha.

The dragon lords are an impatient lot. The whole business with accumulating eyes is basically a game of "Notice me senpai".

For those that don't realize what I'm talking about. The whole reason we need to accumulate 4 eyes is for plot reasons.

There's only four dragon lords, dragons of the first brood, left after Nidhoggs demise. The eyes you accumulate are the dragons noticing your skill

Midgardsormr needs to smack his kids upside the head.

Just hit level 58 and beat ARR MSQ. Now I can finally do the RDM job quests I couldn't access while leveling

Should I spend some Poetics on the ironworks weapon for small upgrade over the weapon from the job quest weapon or will these job quests eventually give me a better weapon and make it not worth it?

You get poetics very fast if you're doing any sort of daily roulettes with any regularity. I'd get the Ironworks stuff you want even if you end up switching it out fairly quickly -- you can always just turn the IW stuff into GC seals as deliveries.

If I remember correctly, Ironworks gear will let you skip basically the first 5 or so levels of gear.

Ok, I'll probably end up just getting it. I'm about to do these 4 or so job quests I've had to miss leading upto 58 and I couldn't seem to find their rewards anywhere.

Midy needs to smack them for not showing up to check on him after the war. They also failed to show up to mourn Nidhogg. Those other 2 seem real shitty.

Bit overwhelmed at the prospect of:
-Doing like 30 maps
-Doing Omega standard
-Gathering scripts for crafter class (BECAUSE I FORGOT TO CAP SCRIPTS LIKE A DUMB)
-Crafting new accessories
-Falling into the pentamelding rabbit hole
-Savage

I know I'm being a dick for the huge schadenfreude, but I've always been salty that as a beta player I had to pay double the price of the late adopters on Steam. I wish I could pay the same price as you instead of the contrary.

It took me a while to experiment and come up with a good layout for myself but I basically have it down to this:
I basically set out to reduce "finger drift" by having it so that I map skills to the 1,2,3,4,Q,E,R keys + Shift/Alt/Ctrl/Ctrl+Shift modifiers for the other hotbars
I almost never reach farther right than the T or 4 keys

So with the modifiers that gives me 5 hotbars in total with no more than 6 abilities/items per hotbar. The only hotbar that involves needing to stretch my fingers on the left hand is the CTRL+SHIFT one so I only have universal moves like exp boosting foods, sprints, or quick access to my chocobo mount there.

Then I have a few hotbars on the right that I use for account wide shit like target markers, ground signals, minions, individual mounts, teleport, and my most used gear sets

Meanwhile in my world:

-Savage
-Dailies
-Weeklies

-FFXII
-Kingdom Hearts

Sometimes, when I'm not thinking about my poverty, I am glad I didn't take up crafting.

It's interesting to me that the Omega raid is basically just a series of trials rather than a long instance with multiple bosses. Were the other raids the same way?

Has anyone ever emailed support? Do they always reply? I'm worried they won't. I've completely lost access to my character because I've lost access to the email connected to my SE account. My character was level 40. No way I'm starting over a third time.

If it's email stuff and account related stuff you need to call them, email/chat support will just tell you that they can't help you with sensitive information like that and that you need to call them.

In Coil you had to fight mobs and make your way to a boss fight.

Alex had the same.

Omega seems the outlier, though Savage Alex was bosses only.

You know that scene in the Star Wars Christmas Special where Grandpa Wookie essentially gets a VR porn headset and is interrupted by imperials?

Thats basically what the new Savage lore is

Maybe the next Dragoon story
can have you killing them so that you don't have to build up any more goddamn eyes
