Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae 2.0 update coming in early June

I have type 0 for ps4 but haven't opened it yet...

I'll still be able to get this demo and the update yah?
Just checking there was no download expiration date or something. Haven't really been following it but I'll give it a go after e3 with the update

If it's a physical Day-1 edition there should be a sheet with a code printed on it, which should be good for a year since Episode Duscae launched (so Mar 2016)

You have until March 2016 to redeem the code.

I see your face here all the time threelights,
I thought you hated this game ( or demo)
do you still have hopes that the patch will fix the issues you had with it?

I didn't play it. I just kept watching a few hours of different people playing the demo.

I have issues with how they're handling the game with all the focus testing.

The patch is actually the start of my problems with it.

And I'm still hyped for the game, I'm just bummed out with the gameplay going from original to wtv it is turning into. But hey, much like XCX I'll be playing for the exploration and story.

I've said it before, I'll be there day one for the game, it's just a shame that they did what they did...

By game play going from original you mean FFversus?

If so, you really need to let that go man.

And what does it matter if they do focus testing,
Is it because you want the game to be released sooner?

Do you think fan feedback is a negative thing and will change the project or alter the direction of the game.

Also what direction are you relating it to, it's not like they had anything to go by, all the trailers before the demo were obviously early concepts mixed with "real time game play" all done in PC much more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox one I am sure.

peace

Oh no, I mean original TGS~Demo (the Versus stuff was just KH with another skin... Which is not bad, but I wouldn't really call it original). It's after they've started taking feedback that it started going downhill.

And by focus testing I mean how much they've said they're willing to change the game through that (which is the main purpose of this demo). Nothing really to do with delaying the game...

I don't think it'll change the direction of the game (or I hope it doesn't at the very least), but it changed the gameplay stuff (mainly the battle system), and that bummed me out =X

I still have faith in Tabata, and at the end of the day if this game is successful, focus testing or not, that's what matters.

Still blows my mind they are bothering to update a flipping demo
I fail to see how free mechanic updates to a demo build can be seen as anything other than a good thing?

All those tweaks go directly into the full game, and letting us play around with it in a sandbox setting spoils nothing.

It's more like they're trying to copy the FF14 method of 'marketing' with FF15, except it doesn't work because FF14 is an MMO with continuous updates, whereas patching a demo while the game is nowhere in sight is not exactly worth continuous "a livestream per month" marketing. Even FF14 has dry spells, and that's a game with a major update scheduled every three-four months.

Right, these are my thoughts exactly.

I know, so I hope they change their tune a bit away from the current fan pandering schtick. They've had to stretch that and the demo content for far too long now.

Well, it seems to be working, so I doubt they'll stop it now.

I just hope they don't do this for every game from now on... (although they are almost starting the same thing with Dissidia).

Type-0 HD with the demo didn't really sell that well, so by what metric are we saying it's really working?

Gosh I really hope they add the roll in the next patch,
I think it benefit the game play .

but watching all the videos is nothing like playing it man,
the game has a nice heavy smooth feel to it, you just have to try it out for yourself.

This is coming from someone who has platinum'd Dragons Dogma :) ever played that game?

Type-0 was a vehicle for the demo, which they largely brushed off. I was talking about XV.

Yes. But I thought you were referring to the actual marketing they've been doing, not stuff like the demo (which is part of the marketing, but not really what I was talking about).

DD is just the best ARPG out there ;)

And yeah, what I said is also referring to the demo itself, I saw a bunch of people explaining all the systems and then a bunch of people (of varying skills) playing the demo. It seems pretty fun. But they've said they're willing to scrap a bunch of that stuff if fans ask for it. That's what I'm referring to.

So what was that 1million thank you image all about , shipped not sold?

luckily for me I felt that the majority of the Fan feed back will help them
but it seemed like they were already working on the fixes mentioned by the fans anyways.

Like the camera,target.

Cidney was the exception I don't agree that they have to toner her down, and the team was shocked that complaint was even mentioned, again luckily it was not at the top of priority things requested by fans.

Type-0 HD shipped a million but sold through to customers around 500K or so, is the current guess based on numbers we know from Japan and NA.

That was shipped number, not sold.

Likely 500k copies are still on the shelf waiting to be sold.

Good luck to SE trying to sell them after announcing a PC version so close to the console release.

We'll see. I lost every bit of hope after the last ATR myself... But if you're still hyped for that stuff, then enjoy it! I'll just wait for the story and side content stuff myself.

We never got numbers from EU? That seemed to be the place where they marketed the most...

I wonder if SE will add content and polish the demo and announce it for sale at 15-20$?

It makes sense after the putting so much work into it and I honestly think its worth it.I put 7 hours into it even in its old state.

Last UK figure I saw was around 37K? I can try and dig a bit.

If they're patching the camera or allowing options for the PC version, it only makes sense to have it for the console version as well.

It was really dumb to not fix that ahead of the PC announcement. I think people also had over-inflated expectations for a PSP game.

Well, I have no idea where to look for that stuff, so if you can get some numbers, I'd appreciate it =X (it's fine either way though).

Maybe the numbers there are worst than NA and JP, so they didn't release much information...? I have no idea =P

Type-0HD was a mistake for me personally. The games structure translated fairly poorly to consoles.

XIIHD would have been a much better option to bundle XV with for several reasons.

I think it was around that possibly on launch week and that might not have included digital.

You have to take EU as a whole tho.

UK, Germany and France as the top 3 markets (with Japanese games usually performing solidly in France) and then all the secondary markets like Spain, Holland, Denmark etc..... which all contribute.

If you take in to consideration Asia sales and all the others markets too I would imagine it's quite a way above 500k now.

There's been a pretty big price collapse soon after launch so that can be factored into the unsold stock situation as well.
The game really should have been $40 from the start... or like you said, bundled with 12 HD.

Type-0 is simply a poor representation for the brand for current-gen machines and also to entice new fans in to the series with. It's no surprise the price collapsed given the roots of the title. I already feel that they are releasing it on steam to gauge fan interest for the series on that platform and once again it's the wrong title to do that.

I've never actually worked in Marketing, but after studying it for a while it makes their marketing practices pretty painful to watch unfold sometimes, given that they have marketing directors and staff who are paid thousands to not make the most out of their budgets.

Simple things like what not to do (FF7 @ PSX) and how not to present information (active time report demo walkthroughs and trailers).

SE and marketing... Time for a party

I was midly interested on Type 0 HD, then PC version was announced and I knew I was getting it at 65% sale price at some point.

Don't forget this:

FFXIV 1.0.

How we could forget that incredible YoshiP smackdown to XIV 1.0?. lol

You know what's the saddest thing? That people still claims that 1.0 had better graphics and it could barely display more than 9 characters at the same time.

It also makes more sense for a MMO to stay in constant touch with it's community and base players, hear their requests and feedback.

It dosn't make much sense for a single player game, IMO

Also YoshiP stood his ground on several occasions, I hope Tabata never changes his own vision because feedback.
