Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae 2.0 update coming in early June

So, Naora and I message each other on Facebook. You could say we're best friends now.

Also, there appears to be some developer on GameFAQs' FFXV board. He's got some (VIP) tag that no one else has. His profile says that he's a Senior Graphics Programmer at SE.

I guess we can infer that there might be better frame-rate with the patch, however negligible it may be.

will we have to call you an "insider" from now on :P ?

I stopped playing the demo after the
Bahamut fight.

Would love to play that demo.

LOL thought the update was up., still no specific date for the update? My brother wants to play the demo, but I wanna tell him to hold off to get a better experience :P

I'm getting impatient waiting for these few days to pass by till demo update :[ .

The titan bug is gonna be gone but that also means fully exploring the outside map is gone too, I wonder what type of "Barrier" they will have now lol.

I really wish they add different enemy types and some of those duo sidequests I mean they took longer than expected after all.

My god the journey to the final product is still feeling like its forever away... Let's just see what Tabata has for us in ATR.

Final game

Also I think L. Spiro is a she.

Also that's a gamefaqs quote so I would not be surprised if it turns out to be bullshit.

Same here, but the VIP tag just makes me wary and there's a presence in several other websites.

And I made an assumption, but after reading more posts I think L. Spiro is male.

More on L. Spiro:

My interview process at Square Enix was the fastest they have ever done, and the CTO said it was the first time he had ever seen president Matsuda meet a candidate.

I am the new senior graphics programmer in Square Enix’s R&D department (Advanced Technology Division—Luminous Engine) provisionally until I take over for the current lead graphics programmer when he quits soon.

I'm reading a bunch of posts. All of this is actually really fascinating lol.

Why would they be posting that stuff on Gamefaqs though. Makes no sense.

Why not?

GameFAQs, with their own game threads, is a much more insular community than NeoGAF or what have you. L. Spiro can post there and know that everyone will read and understand what he's saying because of this.

But it's not just GameFAQs where he's posting. There's a FFVII modding community forum of sorts that he's posted at and some other game dev websites.

And yes, what Falk said too. Maybe he's posting there because he likes it? He's clearly excited from the game as well if you read his posts.

I remember one time when Troy Baker posted on there, back when TLOU was released.

Anyway, some of the posts L. Spiro has been making has been infinitely more interesting than what everyone else has spoken of about the game, SE, and the Luminous Engine. Just takes a bit of digging. Stuff like him personally adding anisotropic filtering into FFXV after the demo complaints.

I'd link to the dozens of posts but it's a bit much.

Why not? People don't stop being themselves when they start working on AAA shit they love. Some people still use twitter religiously. Some others still post on GAF. *cough*

There's been a ton of people working on AAA western games who still post on NeoGAF from time to time. As long as he's not leaking NDA info (and I'm pretty sure he's well aware of the boundaries) I don't see what the harm is.

I'm Interested in these posts. Please post them

Whoa, Spiro used to work for Tri-Ace, worked on Luminous before that, then went back to Luminous development more recently.

Lol the demo was a rushed product. Of course the final game was going to have AF.

That sounds like a great read. Would you care to share a link?

Bahamut fight.
I couldn't take the combat system. Looking forward to this update.

I was okay with the combat mostly, I hated the lockon in the "pre-fight". You know the one with the fancy plan. I died so many times trying to execute the lockon warp.

Any news about the combat system?
Can we finally spam spells and actually do some damage, and is it faster?
MP is the worse system for this type of combat. TP/AP/Stam whatever it is, anything but the POS slowness regen of MP.
I was falling asleep playing this game...and it is an Action RPG for goodness sake.

It's probably best not to post a bunch of his posts and graphical comments here or we might get him into trouble. It's not bad PR, but the slight chance of him making any promises regarding the game when the director didn't comment on it, probably shouldn't be posted on this site where Kotaku usually takes info and makes headlines out of.

Driveclub's game director was ordered to stop posting on twitter around DC's launch, and he was the director...

You're 100% right. I edited it out.

It's the internet. Anything is fair game and a good reason why people like that guy should be more cautious.

Oh my god, thank you Kagari for that second post of this thread. I can finally come back in these again.

I am always skeptical of insider stuff like that GameFAQ's post, but i never fully write them off either. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I'm amazed at how you didn't avatar quote yourself at the end (or middle) of this post.

Anyway, I just realized that we will indeed not be surprised by the demo update, since we'll be having the ATR before =P

hey guys wanna hear a cool fart story from a recording session

(omg im gonna be famus on kotaku)

edit: wow beaten by threelights

L. Spiro is a real Square Enix employee on Luminous, but I don't know if the GameFAQs poster is really her.

I think the account was certified by the mods in GameFAQs, so perhaps. On a sidenote, yeah it's probably better to keep her messages in low profile, considering after how Wan Hazmer got into trouble for saying certain stuff in his personal blog.

Regarding the question she asked though, FFXIII happened. Game with amazing graphics but terrible everything else. Let's hope XV can change that a little.
