Only thing left i want to see gameplay wise is how summons will work officially.

Honestly may not even watch the march event because if i know square they'll spoil way to much story for my liking

I'll probably just watch the collector edition announcements and dip. It's full spoilers from now on.

I think some summons might grant Noctis specific powers, like extra speed, extra dmg, or giving swords elemental dmg.

Hmm when you say that i will have to watch alil because im sooo hopping on a collector's edition.

Idk didn't they say at some point some summons woukd be just an attack and some you could control. Or maybe i pulled that out of thin air idk i gtta check

Thats key art not a running cutscene so it doesnt work as an example. Square has its own dedicated studio for CG and they have made and remade plenty of CG for XV already.. I know nomura wanted to cut down on CG and have as much running in real time as possible. There could be B class cutscenes in the game I just dont think there will be.

I just used the picture as an example of what I was saying.

I want to do that too, but I have a feeling neither of us truly has the strength to not finish watching that event. I need the collector's edition stuff though.

Square released the direct-feed for download.

Yeah I know what you mean...I just think there's either going to be CG for crazy stuff or its done in real time.. the engine seems to be able to handle a lot of action.

finally!

I don't really mind either way myself to be honest. But if they can manage to do everything they want in real-time that would be best for sure.

Looks super interesting! Pretty hyped for the release date event on March 30th. This will be my first Final Fantasy!

Oh my. Everyone, this person is the chosen one.

Something about your avatar and posting manner has shocked me.

You are a fresh symbol of hope who has come to guide this beaten and worn down fanbase along its final journey.

You are the new blood who will restore peace to the FF community.

MGS had to die for FF to live again.

Inspite of the motion blur, the game looks really jittery for some reason. Sub 30fps?

Theres a camera effect during all hits and stuff.. it bounces around sharply and that makes it look like jutter in framerate but thats not it. The actual framerate in this vid looks rock solid.

So did they confirm whether or not that was firaga? Because if that was the normal fire attack i'm spamming magic all day.

Nah they've mentioned in the ATR that it's an item that replaces a weapon slot. The firaga you're talking about might relate to the ring type magic. The one we saw is elemental magic. Two different types.

Just watched the direct feed footage, I love how the party damage numbers are strickingly red, they really stand out and I hope they keep them like that.

There was oil on the ground and it used it as an accelerator which helped lead to all those explosions. So some cool attention to detail.

Oh ok. (._. )

Looking a lot better. Of course they cut away the moment I get invested haha. Curious to see how boss fights between other humans play out, could be really cool.

Looks like hitstops with a reactive camera shake during the point of impact when attacking. I didn't notice any slowdowns from the direct-feed video.

I guess that explains it. Not a huge fan of hit jutter in character action games :/

But thx for the responses.

Noctis crushed one of the big mechs parts and there was some liquid splashed out of it

I'm guessing that was the source of oil?

There's footage of Noctis crippling the mech and Oil is on the ground leaking.

Yeah I know! It is just cool to see how it actually disappears and doesn't linger. If those details are spread throughout the game then that would be awesome. (which it seems like there will be)

Lol yup, saw that couple of times. Poor guy, and really cute alligator. Amazing detail and hopefully we get a lot of unique enemy types to fight against.

I'm hoping for King versions of certain enemies, I believe they confirmed a Goblin of sorts like that. Or just have one with a different color that's really OP.

Still processing everything from last night. When it comes to magic, you can only use it if you have certain items or are royalty right? I heard them mention a ring.
I could have sworn I read that while magic is there, it won't be as fleshed out as previous entries.

Theres three elements fire, blizzard and thunder they effect the environment and are magic produced from the earth. They come in the form of items.

The royal magic will come later in the game when you obtain some ring. What magic it produces we dont know

  • Fire set to the environment will hurt both friends and foes.
  • The Fire spell isn’t like the classic fireball that affects a single enemy like in previous Final Fantasy games, but it affects an area from the beginning.
  • Flames will spread naturally and ignite flammable items, like grass and wooden buildings. The game actually distinguishes between flammable items and those that can’t catch fire.
  • If it’s raining, flames will not spread and the fire will be doused quickly.
  • After a while, the signs of scorching are removed by a “strange force.” In Final Fantasy XV magic derives from the elements, and after a while that power returns to the planet.
  • There are other magic elements besides fire, but it isn’t a huge amount, to give each its own specific identity. There will also be Blizzard and Lightning. Blizzard will be showcased first.
  • Thunder will be more powerful when it rains due to the interaction between electricity and water. Blizzard will freeze water and slow down enemies.
  • Elemental magic is present in various locations around the world. It’s a kind of energy that the player gathers and is stored like an item in inventory. You can equip it instead of a weapon in battle.
  • There’s another kind of magic on top of elemental magic, and that’s ring magic, that can be used only by the bearer of the royal ring of Lucis. While elemental magic will be available from the beginning, ring magic will be available only after reaching a certain point in the story.

EDIT: From Dualshockers, btw. I wonder why they're banned. They had some pretty good interviews and stuff for FFXV.

more like its incredibly fleshed out just not in the sheer number sense.

You have to get it from natural sources and its consumable, the ring magic they havent really talked about yet.

Finally Noct's hair can get wet.

eh?

the dirt that builds up on the characters is more interesting.. since they just showed that off now.

Welp explained it 1000 times better than me lol.
