I don't know if I agree about Pitioss Ruins.

Platforming in a game not built for it? How was this such an amazing idea? The puzzles were interesting though.
I dunno. I loved it all the way through. Sometimes jumps were a bit wonky, but it was more about figuring out how to advance.

So I decided to start playing the game versus waiting for the December patch. Still very early, but being that I never played a FF game other than FF7 on the PSONE should I get the Guide for the game? It seems pretty confusing to me and battles are a bit hectic. I am picking up items that I have no idea what they do and the whole magic system and some of the systems are entirely foreign to me. Is the game guide pretty good for noobs to the series?

So far I am liking the game and it looks great in high mode. Still a lot of shitty/pixelated shadows on some items, but overall it looks good. Just trying to understand the games systems and items/menu's and wondering if the game guide would be helpful. One thing that I love RPG's is finding treasure, was a bit disappointed when a treasure chest appeared on my map and when I arrived it was just a glowing small thing like other items found in the world. Would of loved a nice treasure chest that you open etc. Nit pic stuff, but still. lol.

12 hours in, just doing a ton of side-quests in Chapter 3. I love this game, I can't stop playing. I've been playing since 10am and its a little after 7pm now.

Got the game yesterday, I'm at Chapter 3, currently Lv20. Loving it so much!

Control Type B is taking awhile to get used to, wish I had been playing using that from the jump, because I'm still too used to Control Type A lol

Can anybody tell me what's the name of the song playing the background when you're fighting that magitech armor at the base in Chapter 3?

Are we still gonna have that cool battle against Leviathan when we are in the water like in that one trailer? Probably the most hype moment. I really hope that battle will be something really special. It's probably what I'll be looking forward to the most.

I am still really enjoying this game. I just finished Keycatrich Trench at level 16, overleveled for sure but it was still spooky and kinda funny at the same time.

So I'm at chapter 3, I'm wondering is there katanas besides the
royal one
or can I buy it somewhere?

If i can buy it, is it at a specific location or a chapter to find it?

No spoilers please. Or at least be vague as possible lol

Does all the equipped weapons affect my stats even when they're not the active one?
For example, if i equip the /nd royal weapon that brings down my defense, does my stats stay the same even when i'm using a sword or they switch everytime i change weapon?

Chapter 4, what on earth. First
what the hell was going on with Titan. Did he want to speak to or kill Noctis? Did the guys know what they were getting into there? Why were they so casual about going to meet a giant? Why was that boss battle so terrible? How does any of this relate to Noct's quest?

And then hilariously, the guys get captured by the empire. Oh no! But wait, the empire has a plan. They let the boys go, but take their car. That'll show them. Without the car, they're screwed! We could probably even capture them if we wanted!

And oh god, here comes the magic dog Noctis and Luna use instead of their phones.
What drugs were these people on making this game.

Ok I got the game but I haven't seen Kingsglaive yet. Is there a certain part in the story I need to watch it by?

Right after Chapter 1. The new patch has some scenes showing some of the important events, but holy fuck, they couldn't have picked a worse way to do it if they tried. I would have been confused as hell if I didn't see Kingsglaive.

Just started chapter 3.
I've progressed up to this point and now level 16 Imperial Soldiers are assaulting me even in the initial area around Hammerhead. They're tearing us to pieces even though I'm level 15 with fairly decent abilities unlocked in my Ascension grid. I even have accessories on Prompto to raise his HP quite a bit. Their guns just rip us to shreds. Is this normal or have I missed something?

Wish i would find more weapons while roaming around, just picked up the Assassins Daggers which are a cool step up from Ignis's current ones.

Also got hit with this bug where 2 of those fire bombs would keep me in combat mode even though I ran away for miles -_-. Since im stacking xp there was nothing else to do but treck back alllll the way to that tunnel. Atleast i found that high level dungeon on the way back.

Miss playing, but I'm going to wait until that first December patch and see if it does anything to help the frame pacing issues, if not I'll just try to deal with it and play on.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but are there outfits beyond the four you start out with? I just made it to Duscae, so no spoilers please. A simple yes/no will suffice, and perhaps a "they're in shops later" or something if that's the case.

Huh. Just accidentally figured out how to sprint infinitely. Cool, that's helpful. Just keep holding the sprint button until the bar is almost depleted, then lift and hold again. Stamina bar back at 100%.

Has there been talk of DLC or whatever to add more weapons and outfits at some point? I'd imagine this game is ripe for that stuff and more hunts to be added in.

Stamina bar is butt ugly though. I got it disabled. The HUD is a bit too intrusive overall.

He glows green when you do it too. It's intentional.

Yeah that has made some traveling feel better. Although I've been using the attack button like that instead of sprint to keep running.

Yeah. It's so useful, but also easy to miss.

I wish you did not have Stamina though :p

Hey guys, I forgot I had this paid and preordered and this rocked up at my door from about 6 months ago. I haven't looked at it at all. What's the GAF consensus so far? Has the wait been worth it?

Brandon F

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
How do you take photos? Is it just finding a prompt like with fishing

There are some prompts scattered around the world. Prompts will also randomly take them traveling. In battle there is a photo skill you can equip on prompts that uses 1 slot of your teammate bar also for photos. Gotta grind all of that if you want the trophy. Supposedly it's one of the more tedious.

Or just use the deluxe edition Royal raiment (no jacket) for unlimited stamina :p

I've never played any FF game in my life eventhought I love JRPGs mainly because I have been a Nintendo console gamer most of the time. Now I have a PS4 and I'm wondering if I would I lose some important bits of the story if I didnt play any FF game before? Does this game run good on a Standard PS4?

I think your stats switch on the depending the weapon you're using at the moment.

Ehh not like e3 the 2013 that was a different game.

Tried to watch Kingslaive for 15min today and had to quit because it was garbage. I can't watch animated movies at all fml. I hate Square for fragmenting the story over several media. Such a stupid decision, it's mind-boggling.

It was decent, the end battle especially is some of the coolest action scenes I've seen in a CG movie.

At most you won't have nostalgia for the music that plays in the car. It is a very self contained story and you will do just fine with this being your first final fantasy.

It runs pretty well. Some dropped frame rate in extreme battles and conditions but other then that it's fine.
