They are so fast and hard to keep up with them. Do they cast death spell or something?
Aamzing moveset and attacks overall though. Kudos to the designers. Easily one of my favorite enemies in the game.

So I kinda fucked up. Sold the Engine Blade and only realized it now. I don't wanna reload my save from hours ago just to get it back though... Is one able to buy the sword somewhere? Or did I lose it forever?

So we go from being saved by the empire's chancellor (or whatever Ardyn is), to then just casually chilling at the chocobo ranch.

All the interactions with him are pretty awkward. The biggest question mark is
is how none of them knew who he was. Am I missing something about Ardyn being a new chancellor or something? And when he reveals his last name Ignis immediately recognized him, like what? His last name was enough but not his first? You've never seen a picture of him? Am I forgetting something from Kingsglaive? I don't know.

No. You aren't forgetting anything. He is handled pretty terribly all around.
Just hit Chapter 3 with my party at LVL. 18, feel I'm doing okay so far - still need to get a better handle on combat & handling mobs but I'm enjoying the game a lot. The first dungeon/tomb was a lot of fun & I look forward to doing more of them. Tomorrow it's time to do a bunch of sidequests & monster hunts!

I noticed Amazon Japan has a listing that includes an "unreleased trailer music compilations" CD. Anyone know what that is? It's an extra $10 or so, but I wouldn't mind if it was something cool. If not, I guess I'll just order from CDJapan for the sticker sheet.

You get some gil but if you're trying to farm for última weapons looking for drops it helps plus the deamon destroyer ability helps to break apprendages easier

Hey guys I've been noticing a issue in dungeons and sometimes during fights but when I use healing items they have no effect. My characters do not have any status effects like posion so it's nothing negating it as far as I can see.
It seems like a glitch I continue to encounter as I'm sitting here watching my characters not auto recover or when I use a potion, the health doesn't recover.
Any ideas or am I just missing something?

I was more referring to my stock of EXP and AP, lol. I've been trying to abuse the EXP bonus and warp strike killing to get as much as possible. I want to get to something like 500k EXP for all characters and then rest at Galdin Quay for the 2x modifier.
I'm genuinely wondering if I can hit the level cap before I even reach Altissia.

Use potions and hi potions only if your chaeacters still have grey hp bars they can still generate. If the bar is black, you need to use elixirs.

also, a few random thoughts:
loading screens are way too long. put music in em if they're gonna be that long
+ speaking of music, how come you can use the music player while walking but not while riding a chocobo? there's like... no time that it makes more sense to travel on foot rather than via chocobo (or car obv)

Just anything, really. I thought the EXP bonus gave a percentage increase, but I think it might add a flat addition to the exp for the encounter, because it generally didn't vary too much between encounters, although I didn't try using it on anything really low level. Mostly just Iron Giants, Bandersnatch, Magitek Axemen or Assassins. Using a spell with EXP Bonus 96 one time would make it so that I'd end up getting something like 20k exp at the end of the encounter, which struck me as being absolutely insane.
Never mind. Apparently the Amazon-exclusive version (for around $10 extra than the standard LE) has a CD with a few of my favorite songs. The five-track CD has:

My dislike for the battle system, reached a new high after fighting the Coeurls with their one shot attack. No windup, no clear visual clue, can't be guarded, is just fucking unfair. Is even worse when you AI team of dumbfucks dosn't know how to deal either and are constantly dying.
It wouldn't be that bad if you fought one, but with five constantly running in circles is just bad enemy pattern design. One of the times I wasn't even attacking the one that killed me. He was just close to the one I was comboing.

I think that's the one that they do when you attack them while they're healing. The impression that I got after trying to fight them and failing miserably, and this made the second time a lot easier, was that you don't want to let them run off and heal. I just ended up picking one Coeurl and did not let it get away from me so it wasn't able to get into that stance. If I wanted to attack one that was healing, I just used magic. I thought a firearm might work, but didn't try it.

Yeah it's damn great. I'm 20 hours in and just finished CH4.
There's so much stuff to do and I dunno, the main story seems to keep me in it's grasp very well despite being sparse.
I'm not sure I'd even say that. I'm up to Chapter 9 and I've only seen one scene of credible character development and it was optional. Maybe it'll change later on but for now, the bros are mostly content to fall into their tropes.

The Dragons Dogma and XBX vibes are real. Those are two of my favs games of the last 10 or so years. This aimless wander around and do stuff "genre" is what I want.
The combat hasn't quite clicked completely; I hate the lockon and two of the weapon types but I am getting the hang of it. The few dungeons I stumbled on were super neat in how scary them shits are woooo. I even like the car; its weirdly relaxing lol.
Gonna move the story forward tommorow (only on chapter 1).
but if this keeps up, it might just be my GOTY.

especially if chapter 13 is as bad as hyped up to be.
like I still want to play more...but I gotta sleep because I gotta go to work tommorow.
