Ignis' Sagefire skill, and over-powered magic managed to do a good chunk of HP off them. Still had to use a ton of potions, wish there was a shortcut for that.
I've got (what I think is) 3 chapters to go, and I have to be honest I have no idea where the story is going or what the ending might be. I'm not even sure
what Noct's goal is anymore. To defeat the Empire? To defeat Ardyn? To reverse this star scourge no one ever fucking talks about? To get his dad's glaive back? To revive Luna? And how are we going to get back to that original opening scene where Noct was like 40 years old when the story is almost over already? It makes no sense!
That's fairly terrible storytelling, but it's also kind of exciting and enticing. Anything could happen!
My predictions: (Major story spoilers, I'm at chapter 12 for what it's worth):
Ardyn is working for one of the gods, or to take over as one of the six. He's the last battle, and he's the guy we saw on a throne of fire at the start of the game. I think Noct wins and gets a happy ending. I even think he might use the power of the gods to revive Luna. But I do think one of the bros is going to kick the bucket, though, and I'm guessing it's Ignis. Let's see how wrong I am. Sadly I had the fact that Luna dies spoiled already so hopefully I go into the rest of this blind.
Time to get some take out pizza and do this thing.
Just the fact that I'm suddenly supposed to mourn someone I barely know. It's one of those things I just know me and my friends will reference repeatedly in the future for laughs. May Jared rest in peace.

They don't explain the connection to Jared and Noctis at all in the game but the CE strategy guide explains that he is the royal butler which is how all of them know/care about him.
I was like oh...him.Feel bad for that kid who we relied on to advance the main quest though.
Even more hilarious (in a way) is the beginning of chapter 6
When they start to add in all the Jared did all this for us..he was so great lines. Give me some of these lines before his death..I may have missed them though
Man I feel like the big, rare fish on the minimap are setup for failure. I'm always yanking the line in the right direction, but I can't ever tell when to reel and when to not, or when I switch sides my line still tanks.
All the chapters are pretty short, unbelievably so at times. It feels like if you did nothing but the chapters it could be completed in under 15 hours which is insane for a FF game (that is unless the last few chapters are double the length of the earlier ones)
I loved the first dungeon. Really looking forward to progressing and doing more dungeons, which are usually not my favourite parts of games like this. The party chat livened up the experience and made me think of how great XII could have been if it simply had more banter (I already like XII a lot).

Let's not abuse that term. It's not at all P2W since you likely didn't pay extra for it, nor do you have the option to. Also, saving 5 gil on the gas pump is completely negligible. That saves you 1/10th of a potion.
