I find it hilarious that Chapter 9 is either the best thing ever, or the worst thing ever. I'm so confused.

Haven't played it yet, btw.

If you know how to control the camera and know air combos/space control , the fight is phenomenal though a bit long.

Same for last fight in the game, played right it's amazing.

But many people have a hard time with both so it ends up the worst thing ever for them :/ .

This is where I'm at. I'm a big fan of the game so far; from where I'm at, I don't understand the hate. It is definitely one of the best games I've played in the last few years, and certainly the best JRPG I've played since Lost Odyssey. I hope it keeps the fun up.

Chapter 7 was pretty awesome and had me giddy towards the end

Yeah, was actually the easiest part of the dungeon.

Glitched for me as well. What you have to do is to leave the dungeon, fast travel somewhere, fast travel back to the dungeon, then traverse back to the boss. You don't have to do the block puzzle again, just the block leading to the boss. I beat the boss again, and the objective was completed, even got the Royal Arm trophy.

In chapter two and loving my time with the game so far. One question though, should I be hoarding treasures or selling them off? I'm not hurting for gil but I guess you can use those to buff spells? I think I made a level 50+ spell with a pepper although I could totally be mistaken.

Yes, save all the items that give xp buffs or make them expiracasts. Any item that doesn't buff a spell can pretty much be sold. See what you want to use for spells and then remove anything you don't.

Those little 4 legged beasts in the very beginning of the game have a 100% drop rate for their item. They give no buff or effect to spells and can be sold for 90 Gil a piece.

Just started A Kings Tale: Final Fantasy 15.
And wow, seems surprisingly good!
More souls like, than chaotic beat em up.
Every enemy needs a different tactic / approach to beat them. Timing and evading is also important. You can die really fast if you are not careful. The music is also very nice.

I just unlocked the chocobos! They're so much fun and I love the renting system, as it literally means you'll always have access to them. How do I recolor and rename them though?

I also hope they're gonna patch the controls, so that we don't have x be the action and jump button. And so that controls won't be different on foot and on chocobo.

I also found out I haven't found the third armiger weapon but only the fourth.

I'd heard some really bad stuff about chapter 13 but I expected something like a terrible stealth segment. Instead it felt more like a section from a PS2 era RPG. It was the first time I thought to myself: "this was probably from the PS3 version of Versus XIII". It wouldn't as been as bad if it just didn't go on and on and on, but it did.

Honestly if the incoming patch just allows you to skip to the last encounter of the chapter the game would be better off. They should have thrown this thing into the trash with Stella and whatever else was cut when Tabata came on.

I mean... It does have some pretty terrible stealth segments. :p

to anyone who is done with chapter 7

Aranea joining your party was fucking goat.....I abused her by doing the royal tomb dungeon nearby with her lol. She was a great sub for Galdio.....as for the XP.....I'm level 51 in chapter 7.....I couldn't resist using here and her ridiculous move set.

End of chapter 8 now and can leave for Altissa.....but I know a shit load of stuff opens up in the open world at the end here before you leave. There are ?'s everywhere for quests.

I just started Chapter 5. So heeeere's some thoughts....

The
Titan
fight was over-the-top silly; but great art design

Also, Gladio is
kinda a jerk at times.

Also also, what is the deal with
the teleporting dog?

Also also also the complaints about the story are becoming much more apparent now. Bummer.

I just ran past everything and killed them when I was forced to :/
Never used stealth

I mean, I did that for the most part, though some of them seemed un-killable. I don't think that goes against my point of it being a terrible stealth sequence though, since it did seem it was intended that you stealth it.

The stealth sequences earlier in the game were done 10x better.

True. I guess i expected something a little more complex and therefore frustrating than what we got. It wasn't challenging, but it certainly wasn't interesting either.

My god..... chapter 13 is just so long and so boring.

Almost slept while plying yesterday.

Also....

Why Hammer Head is closed near the ending? I would love to leave the area and start killing endless waves of enemies.

That would be so cool since I went to Insomnia at level 52 and got crushed by a bizarre thing at level 82.

First time I died in the entire game. And I like it since I was fighting for my life for over 20 minutes.

I havnt really read much into this thread and Im about 5 hours into the game.

Do the dungeons become more varied or interesting enviromentally?

Ive been into 3 so far. 1 I was way way underleveled so I had a peek and left. But they are all dark mineshaft type places with corridors and generic rooms.

It worked, thanks, although I still haven't got a Royal Arm trophy. I probably need to collect more.

Chapter 9.

Holy shit....

That was amazing.

I was amazed until I kept fighting the camera and the somewhat janky way of fighting the
Leviathan.
Felt like I was
fighting the last boss in Sonic Adventure.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

So... Regalia...

I am baaack now that I've finished Final Fantasy XV.

WOW. Here we go. Overall, I was really impressed.
There's definitely some problem with the game especially after leaving Caem (meaning Altissia and every place after that), but I'm looking forward to the updates. Ending was amazing.

I have no idea how to go about upgrading my Elite blade. I know it happens at Cid but I don't know where to get the parts for the upgrade?

So pissed right now. Made it almost to the end of the secret dungeon beforebed last night. Put ps4 in rest and woke up to a system error.wtf? Not motivated to do it all again with this game's poo platforming controls : (

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think that
need an Open Your Heart mod

If it's been answered a billion times in these hundreds of pages sorry; any news about getting A King's Tale for non-GS people?

I'm at the start of chapter 2 and have yet to come across a dungeon, is this normal? I'm also still unsure as how to gain lots of XP - I'm level 18 but my gains are very small, though there was one instance where I camped out and went up about 5 levels!

Ok, so I finally got around to doing that quest for Dino. Parked on the side of the road. In the 400 feet between the car and the quest marker, I got attacked by imperial dropships six times. If they're gonna patch anything it had better be this shit. I couldn't go thirty seconds without "Imperials above us!". Grhrhhghgh.

Typically, if you just keep sprinting, you'll run out of their area and can skip fighting.

But wow, I never had more than one in such a short distance/time.

Agreed, this is hella annoying. Prompto had to have a pic in front of some rock and we got dropped on twice trying to get there and take this stupid picture. Not fun when I just wanted to get this 10 second side quest finished.

Frankly I'd take an 'Imperial Jammer' accessory that stops them being able to find you while you wear it, that way if you wanted to use them to grind you still can. With Expericast they can be worth fighting.

I wouldn't worry too much about levelling up really. If you do all the side quests, you'll be high enough to beat the story. Especially if you just hoard the experience and make use of the 2x or 3x inns.

There's also a massively easier way to level up later in the game anyway relating to magic.

As for dungeons, the first one I came across was part of the story so I wouldn't worry. The dungeons are mostly higher level than you are anyway.

Searching for stone, monster spawns, kill monster but before find stone "Imperials above us!", sigh, kill Imperials look for st...monster spawns again. I just want to look for the stupid rock.

I had a similar thing happen while driving at night. First it was an Iron Giant, no biggie. Return to car, then suddenly imperials. Okay, fine. Then back to car, before I could drive, another Iron Giant spawned in front of my car. Back to car, drive for less than a second, imperials. Get out of car, fight. Back to car, Red Giants spawn. Give up and run.

The random encounters are terrible. Post game should just remove the stupid imperial dropships altogether.

Re imperials - another easy solution: make a multi-cast thunders and drop it in them the moment they all land.

I did that once and my game crashed. I'm actually much more hesitant on using magic on large crowds after that.

2 short questions

- do the quests for the fat guy from Lost have a pay off or is it really just about taking pictures ?

- Sometimes when I'm running Noctis will get a green glow for a second and run faster. Is there some way to trigger this of is it random?

Damn, that sucks. Haven't had a crash in 40 hours and I use a lot of magic. Haven't heard of major stability issues surrounding magic. Maybe just a one off glitch?

You get a lot of cash.

Click L3 a second time once stamina is almost fully depleted.

Happened twice. OG PS4 BTW. Which was why Costlemark Dungeon was especially hellish for me, too scared to use magic on the framerate killing Thunder Bombs. Although when I actually used it on them out of desperation the game didn't crash for me back then.

I thought the fights were part of the quest and the item was right nearby lol

How can I make the combat more interesting?

I feel like all I need (for the most part) is daggers (crazy DPS) then maybe a sword for airstep. And I can just hold down circle, defend if I need to, and that's it. It's becoming a little shallow.

Using Polearms? Probably the most fun weapon for me. Love diving around with it.
