Well, I agreed that the whole scene was rushed and it had a very dumb transition, though.
It's obvious that a lot of it will be explained during Gladio's DLC. But I hope one of the patched scenes expands on this more.

Agreed, between that and Prompto's Snapshot AP node, I get a ton of AP just running around and getting in battles.

It was a concession prize in the Carbuncle Surprise minigame thing before the game came out.

That first patch could potentially just be a few balance changes to make that chapter go slightly smoother (I'm not up to there, so not sure what it could entail myself).
If that was the case, it would be cool if that came out pretty soon to be in time for Christmas.
The other stuff I'm fine with leaving for the 2nd playthrough: wouldn't mind the changes though before I reach Ch 13 if they indeed make the experience better.

Well, it's the only part of the story where he disappears from your party, unless we also count the evacuation of Altissia, but I'm betting they will use that for Ignis' DLC.

Edit: Who else thinks this game needs an FFXII-esque bestiary? I think it's the one thing stopping the hunt system from being awesome. That and a central repository to pick up hunts the ability carry multiple hunts.

Talk to Cindy directly at the garage. One option lets you fix damage, the other is for customization.
I haven't seen Titan a single time either. Some people here say that Titan appears more often if one or more partners are down, but no luck so far.

So is it just me or is driving to places kinda fucking suck in this game?
I'm about 8 hours in and I just spent 9 minutes doing nothing while the car was driving to a new destination only to reach it when it was nightfall, which meant giant overpowered monsters greeted me on the freeway when I got out. Oh and it turned out it was an overpass and my destination was actually in the woods below and there was no way to jump down to that area.

Hmm, is it possible to play most of the game without using a camp or inn? I'm thinking of limiting how much camping I do so I can hold off on stat gains I get from how much EXP the game gives.

I enjoyed it for the first few hours of the game, but it got tedious as time went on. And the invisible walls was a major problem. In general the traversal of the open world was a pain.

It's weird, I got Leviathan in Insomnia and I don't recall being any bodies of water in there. Or perhaps I didn't look hard enough? In fact, I recall getting Leviathan in an another area with absolutely no water, but I could be wrong....
No, she's not. I've gotten her quite a few times in different areas.
Eventually the game does force you to camp and cash in your exp, but apparently they will be putting something in the game that stops you from leveling.

No. I tried beating Ifrit while ignoring the Summon prompt. His life just won't deplete completely until you summon Shiva and let her shatter him to death.

Didn't kill him in one shot, just took off half his HP and sent the battle into the second phase

Finished the game. I left a lot of hunts and sidequests behind to avoid breaking the game. I'm not pretending to platinum it cause don't care about trophies.
Any interesting hunts or sidequests list that are worth it to experience before i shelve the game? (please avoid lady frog and the guy with the dog quests)

I played this about an hour last night and I just can't do it anymore. Combat is terrible, camera is useless, story is non-existent, characters are all cliches/stereotypes.
I've never been into JRPGs and I've never played a FF before, so I guess I should have known better, but I was hoping the combat would be good enough to overlook everything else.

Hoooooooly shit you guys. Maybe I'm way LTTP (32 hrs in but still on ch5) but that Cleigne battle music. Wow. It reminds me of old mega man for some reason. The music in this game continues to impress. Which says a lot as I already expected it to be very, very good.
How do you get back to the mainland during later chapters then?

Didn't Jason Schreiers review say one of the post game dungeons is the best thing he's ever done in games? That might be worth a look?
I don't know at which point of the story you are, but you gain the ability to return to the open world at lodgings/camps.

So that item doesn't come in the game at all? I guess I'll just have to wait to see what NG+ offers once that patch comes out.
I was wanting to mitigate my side quest completion to begin with but with news of how patches will affect the main game and an NG+ patch coming I want to slow down my main story progression but I also don't want to just not play the game.
