Or maybe people just have different opinions? I absolutely agree that trying to have a conversation with someone that just spews hyperbole isn't productive though. One of the positive aspects of the series is how different they can be between entries and that's going resonate with people in different ways for different reasons. People should be able talk about those differences with each other. For some people XV will be their absolute favorite entry in the series. For others the worst. And I imagine most people will place somewhere in between.
It's shown here. If you don't have Shield of the Just already, it's in a Royal Tomb in Duscae near one of the parking spots (I forget which, but it's the one closest to Cleigne). The tomb is right in the open, so no dungeon or anything to traverse.
You might as well shelve the game. I don't think those new scenes will arrive any time soon.
Personally, once all the new scenes are patched in, I will restart the game from zero. I really enjoyed the original journey, so traveling with the four bros again is going to be a delight.
Goddamn it! Is it still possible to somehow obtain the cindy decal? I just want to traverse the world riding on Cindy.
Keep in mind that you automatically "sleep" at the end of a chapter, so if you continue for too long, you'll just gain the experience without a modifier. So it's up to you whether you want to sleep now or grind some shitty sidequests and sleep when you've accumulated more exp, as long as you sleep before finishing the chapter. If you don't want to spend 10,000 gil for the 2x modifier, at least sleep somewhere with a 1,5x modifier for a lot less money.
I made about 30k (not selling anything) off of the available sidequests, so I wasn't really struggling money wise. Got a shitload of AP too (a total of around 600)
I do switch weapons sometimes but I always end up going back to the daggers. Enemies are weak against certain weapons, yes, but if you make Ignis use Enhancement he infuses your weapon with whatever element the enemy is weak to. So even if the daggers aren't effective right away, just infuse it and it will be, plus you have the added benefit of crazy DPS.
As long as you pick up items like rare coins, debased coins, silver coins and whatnot that allows you to make expericast spells, you really shouldn't be worrying about levels too much. By the end of the game, you should have enough of them to shoot up to level 90+ from level 40~ish with the 3x exp multiplier at altissia.
At Chapter 8 now, damn as much as I like the game, I hate how the story is presented.
The graphics and aesthetics are awesome. The battle system is fun (but a little too messy when there is more than one ennemy and in closed rooms). Exploring is fun too - but I feel a little overpowered now. The music is beautiful.
And yet the story is presented in such a manner, it baffles me.
Why wasn't there a CGI cutscene at the beginning explaining a bit of the lore ? Like why is the royal bloodline so special, the relationship between the 6, the Oracle, the Lucis and the rest of the world...
Why are secondary characters coming and leaving like a gust of wind without any introduction whatsoever ?
Why should I care about them ?
Who the hell is
__________Dustin ?
Where the hell
did Gladio go ? I mean it could be very well explained after buy I feel like it won't. It feels like something done on purpose in order to sell a manga/anime/movie/DLC explaining this
What the hell is up with chapter's 8 beginning
"Oh it seems like there is a problem at the power plant" and BOOM there you are go kill some monsters sucker. No explaining whatsoever
Thankfully the 4 main characters and their nonstop banter and commenting on the events is pretty good and often funny so it makes the non-story bearable.
Really, I feel like the game could've been about 3 guys taking their friend to his wedding and running into trouble on their way there, it would've changed nothing.
Jared doesn't need many more scenes. If they are going to add scenes for him, just make one that makes it clear WHO he is, and WHY characters are mourning him. A simple explanation on his role with the Amicitia family is enough.
That's what they need to do in order to "fix" the story. Forget about fixing it and just make it funny and self aware instead. At least in parts.
If they wanna add anything story related (which I'm really against to begin with and think is a waste of resources) they should add more goofy stuff between bros and meme worthy characters like Jared. Adding a fix (that more than likely won't do much anyway) to story, 5-6 months after the initial release is utterly pointless. The story (at least what's in the game) sucks, move on. Focus on good parts like gameplay and character banters and add more contents and variety to those.

Well that's actually what I plan to do haha. I have TLG and then more than enough studying, work stuff etc to do. Considering platinuming FFX for the heck of it too.
I fired up Final Fantasy X HD after playing this game for a while. This game starts off so much better than X does with the story, but I know X gets good later on.

Was playing X right before XV came out. Gunna go back and finish X after I beat XV and then play IV on Steam. This game really brought Final Fantasy back into the forefront way more than XIII ever did.

About to start Chapter 13 expecting to find a real torture after reading all the criticism about it. Now I wonder if it will be able to be even worse than that

I wish they had kept FFXV down to earth. Like if it were just a road trip story with a good cast of characters, interesting events etc, would've been much more different & new. Instead they went with the whole "you're the king that was promised and must save the world" thing.
The mundane everyday stuff is my favorite parts of the story, quests and world. If they did more quests like the ones in Yakuza games, it would be much improved.
I wish SE would provide actual dates for their updates.
I'm seriously thinking about not reaching chapter 13 until the update.
Q: Can I
re-visit open world during chapter 12
? I'm on chapter 7 myself, so just provide a yes/no answer please. This is because my plan is to get all the way to chapter 12 then just stop progressing the main story until the update.
They have different goals, for sure but I personally found X's story more gripping from the start. XV tries to force it with the use of medias res but it doesn't really work.

At first i liked the combat system but now i really dislike it. As long as you are overpowered it is fun to do all these combos with your friends, but when you face bosses or many hard hitting enemies the whole fighting controls are so bad.
Sometimes so many enemies hitting and shooting at me at once that i'm stuck at dodging non stop. I'm like eating potions one after another from chapter 12/13 onwards.
Chapter 14:
How am i supposed to kill that crab thing at the beginning of insomnia? This thing is level ~78 and hits for 7k-9999dmg and my group is level ~43 with 3500 health. Is there a trick or something?
For me the key was realizing that in this game, healing items are meant to be constantly gobbled as if they were Skittles. In the past week I've probably used 50x more elixirs and phoenix downs than I have in my entire previous 25 years of playing FF games. Notice how incredibly cheap healing items are in this one compared to past FFs.

yet, but have been doing every sidequest I can, and ended up in C
restholm
C

. Good lord, now that's a difficulty spike. The regular enemies aren't too bad, but the quarters are cramped and it's tough to see everything during battle. But those 2 bosses, wow!
Managed to beat them both at level ~45, but it was a real fight, actually had to use items and be very on point with my companion skills.
I was really bummed out that there wasn't anything at the end of the dungeon though, minus one of those locked doors.
All that's left on my sidequest list is a level ~50 optional dungeon, so I might try to tackle it tonight. That trip through the last one was my favorite part of this game so far.
Also, for those of you mostly forgetting about Armiger, use it! I find it to be way more useful on groups of smaller enemies than bosses, so let it fly as soon as you get it.
I agree with you that the cut was weird and obviously rushed.
But the game never ever tries to hide the guy in the suit is Gladio. It's not trying to set up a mystery on who the masked hunter is. It is supposed to be "ridiculously obvious", even Noctis and Gladio mock each other throughout the whole thing.

Yeah, I mean I know that, but... why? The whole thing is just weird. There's no buildup to it or anything. It's just boom do this thing for like 10 minutes. There had to be more to it in earlier scripts.
