Same question i was wondering i looked everywhere at hammerhead, been at hammerhead 2hours 11 mins and i still have not repaired my car lol, and boy are these cooking recipes making me god so hungry they look so real haha.
Best rendering of food I have ever seen in a game for sure. The game overall is a sight to behold.

But, i did exact the same thing. Hanging around in Hammerhead, doing some sidequests and lurking around.
Yeah, the food makes me hungry, too. Mostly.

Had it fully preordered at gamestop, they said they'd call me to remind me about the midnight release.
Turns out they had a 9pm release and didn't bother telling me so I showed up for nothing and I have to wait till tomorrow to get it.
Last time I'm buying a big release at Gamestop. I'm sad. :/

Really early here -
is completing Dino's quest a point of no return for anything? I don't have any obvious side quests left but I'd happily stick around for a while and explore stuff if I should
Man... Ten long years... Hard to believe that after all that time I've finally put in a solid hour and a half into it! I've got to say, this may be the best paced RPG from a gameplay perspective I've played in a very long time, probably since the original Xenoblade Chronicles. Combat is fantastic, and has a real good pace to it, and I'm looking forward to diving into the skill trees.
The poster that brought up the D&D campaign parallel hit it right on the nail, it feels like a lot of the games my group plays, right down to the friendly banter. I love these characters already and can't wait to get to know them better. Again, last game that gave me these feelings was Xenoblade, and those are probably some of my favorite characters of all time. I already know this is gonna probably be one of those games I dump 50+ hours into with just the side quests. The way the game plays is what is blowing me away right now more than anything, because I wasn't 100% sure that it was going to all come together based off of the first two demos, but here we are... Obviously it's too early in the game to give a truly good judgement, but so far I am totally into it. Suffice to say, this is gonna be my entire gaming life for the next few weeks.
Oh, and as for the car... Sorry Ignis, I'm driving! Wish I could go off-road, but I guess we can't gunk up the paint... Oh well, can't win them all I suppose.

Haha, wait for a side-quest at your next story mission place after the car is fixed. Also did this by night.

As much as i can say: You are on a linear path for a couple of minutes and then free again.

Btw i still hate the new camera since the new patch.
Can't do aerial battle because camera goes apeshit and I lose track. So is better to just wait on the ground for parries, which makes it boring. D tier shit boss, not even DMC 2 level.

You can return back at a later time, so don't worry about being locked out. Just play at your pace but don't do too much sidequests to avoid fatigue.. hunts are fun tho!
To expand on this, I couldn't find this available in the regalia shop until the start of chapter 2.

Yeah, my TV is from like 2009 no option to disable overscan on my TV either. Old Sony Bravia. The game cuts off for me but not to the extent that it impedes gameplay or obscures vital information.

BASE!I'm using Television, because that's optimised for stereo and Home Theatre is likely optimised for surround.
But I haven't tried HT, so the safe option is just to test both

The Redeem button on the Road Trip site is still greyed out for me :/
Three hours in, I got the basic groove down. These side quests are gonna take up a bunch of time, but I'm gonna get my characters as strong as possible. I'm already liking the road trip vibe of it all. The camping/resting spots, stopping to look at Prompto's photos. And the banter is pretty fun, voice acting and all. Combat is simple enough. So far, I think it's a downgrade from Kingdom Hearts, but at the same time I'm pretty early in the game.
I'm also loving Queen Yoko's music so far. That battle theme trumps several of Uematsu's themes, it's not even funny. Wanting to listen to all the new music from her is half of what's driving me to get through the game.
Still gotta get the pace going, but so far I'm having fun.

I think you've left your motion smoothing on on your TV then. Base ps4 runs 30fps at best. Pro is like 40-45 tops at the moment.
But what matters is that it runs and looks good on your set, so enjoy!

Okay thanks man! But why is it only this "smooth" in HDR and not with it disabled?

Anyone with a digital preorder, can you let me know what gets installed? Is there like a playable portion and it downloads the rest of the game or would I have to wait for the full 40gb. Not home atm so I was just wondering.

Easiest tip I can give to people is to take a step back, use techs frequently, and use Ignis to tell what kills faster. It's pretty simple stuff.

Isn't it like that with all downloadable games? Downloads a playable chunk then the rest. Although I guess it depends on your internet speed whether that chunk will last you long enough for the rest to download.

Wait until you jump down a road to do some sidequest or hunt and realize you can't go back to your car even if is just a few meters away and your only option is a 30 second loading screen or do a large rodeo to be able to enter in the road again.

When did Amazon become so trash for pre-orders. I won't receive the game until Friday? Not too fussed as its a Xmas present, but its the last time I use them.
You need the whole 50gb to really play, the only thing that you can do after it loaded around 7gb ist fight against monsters in the Platinum Demo end area until all 50gb are installed.

I played this when I got it on Saturday for a good 8 hours straight -
First impressions - Didn't look that great aesthetically. Sure in parts it was beautiful but... something missing.
I spent 8 hours just exploring before even tackling the first chap 1 story mission.... gameplay and collecting stuff - top notch.
Loved the interactions between characters.
Sunday - Played for another 8 hours
Second impressions - More of the same but was very very much enjoying it. Once I'd done every side mission possible I tackled the story and got up to end of chap 2 with about 10 hours played. Not a big spoiler here but
Monday - played for another 8 hours
Third impressions - another 8gb patch and wow.... the graphics enhanced massively. Also gaining experience is now so much easier. I didn't even touch the story of chap 3 yet and there is still soooo much for me to do! I love exploring
TL;DR - Spent 24 hours and barely touched the story. Exploring is amazing, interactions between cast is great. I just hit level 31 and haven't touched chap 3 story yet.
EDIT: Also - if you play chap 1 and watch the cut-scenes and don't know wth is going on - buy the movie Kingsglaive. It explains it all brilliantly.

When you open up that next area (Duscae I believe) I had the prelude to FF1 playing and omg.... bliss
