I'm thinking the same too. Maybe Persona 5 will be the last but we'll see.
It's only with this game though.
Just got my Pro on the 10th, played through Skyrim, Killing Floor 2, Dishonored 2 and some Destiny.
Havent seen anything like it, and I have tried resetting my Ps4 and everything
Oh I haven't gotten the masaume by email yet. I thought it would be in the game itself.

Tried changing the resolution settings too, from high to lite, and same issue.

Question: I'm on chapter 6 and I'm level 35ish. I have barely touched side content outside of hunts and some tombs.
I'm worried about my level outpacing the story.
What level were most folks when they got to the end? I think I inadvertently sapped most of the challenge out.

Damn... Those look like GPU artifacts.
One of the most common causes of artifacts is overheating.

Have you tried deleting the game data and reinstalling? Might be a data problem from the disc.

I'm level 31 and haven't started chap 3 story yet....
If your level is outpacing the story there then by god I am gonna walk it haha

The 9gb patch is the killer, with my current internet it takes me about 4 hours to download.
I guess I could delete it and try without the patch, too.
But damn. Shouldnt be happening, its a brand new Pro!

I am so OCD about side story stuff. I always worry I'm gonna miss something epic and not be able to go back.
For that reason I uncover every inch of the map and complete EVERYTHING before I move on.
Lol an Iron Giant spawned against me last night. Killed it in a head on fight and then another turned up right after. I realised I was massively OP at that point.
I don't think it is judicious to ask such spoilery questions to which the answer could be a massive spoiler.

I was doing that too. Running every side quest up til chapter 3 and I could already feel it happening.
I got into a big firefight with some soldiers and a giant frog in Duscae and ended up with several thousand xp by the end of it. Only open world game I've ever been afraid to explore hahaha.

No, it's that bad.
Later, some of the Cindy sidequests allow you to upgrade your engine speed. It's still only moderate, though, and the game eventually becomes a ton of fast travel loading screens. Which sucks. You can't listen to your sweet jams on a loading screen!

I'm finding Dungeons much more enjoyable than the open world which is a nice surprise. I think I'm going to start avoiding most side quests though, they just aren't worth it.
You see on one hand I'm appreciating having FF world map music play while I'm watching the car drive itself to my next location. But on the other hand, this is essentially three minutes of loading.
Also the game won't let me drive the car manually anymore for some reason, haven't figured out why.

Are you still very early on?
You get the ability to drive taken off you for a part. I didn't get it back til chap 3.
Nothing better than looking over a cliffside to a fantastic view at sunset with Celes Theme playing......

I did originally because of the same issue, then I switched to English and realized I can't stand their voices. There is some stuff that isn't subbed like when you approach the diner guy, probably says "hello" etc.
Sticking with Japanese until something fucks up hard.
