Still trying to decide about buying this game or not but waiting for people to comment on the emotional resonance this game has if any. Does it make you feel good? Does it evoke emotions? I mean I only played FF7 and FF8 back in the day and they were charming to me. Does this FEEL like that?

I love the pacing of travel, explore/fight/quest, make camp, repeat. It reminds me a lot of a D&D campaign.

Just finished Chapter 1 and I have 5 hours clocked in already somehow. Really like how the first chapter ended.

Very beginning of chapter 2 has me excited already after just watching Kingsglaive.

Really enjoying it so far except for some minor gripes.

As another user said, it's hard to read the small subtitles and fight at the same time. The combat will take me a bit to get used to since the lock-on isn't like Souls too. Couldn't find any options to make it similar, only to adjust how far the camera is and tracking

Destiny definitely deserved the bashing it got after being advertised as a cinematic masterpiece. Gameplay is excellent, but launch was really scarce for content, loot drops were awful and Peter Dinklage was the greatest VA ever. If it released in the state it is now or at least with TTK, would've been much better. *If they played the game, of course.

No, checkerboard is in the game already.

Ah, ok. Wasn't sure. I'm debating waiting till December for the Pro patch before I start this (should arrive later today) but I'm like "I've waited 10 years. I can't wait a month" vs "I've waited 10 years. I can't wait any longer!"

I don't have a 4k TV/Monitor so I'll probably try both modes out and see how they feel.

Ok so I'm loving it. Combat is taking a little getting used to but it's fun. Just got my car fixed and was gonna pick up a treasure I missed north of hammerhead and on my way back I see this little green thing zipping on my screen then it dawns on me it's a mother effin Cactuar. I blink struck it a few times and actually killed it. Got me close to 7000 xp and an Oracle Ascension Coin. Went from level 4 to level 12 lol. Definitely digging this game so far!
