Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Jeez, there is so much to do in this game outside of the main story. How the hell do you not get overlevelled with all this stuff?

You pretty much DO get overleveled if you do it all, but it's nice to see characters like Donnel start out helpless, and become a total powerhouse later in the game.

I was so overleveled by the last Chapter that I only sent in four characters and won: Donnel paired with Avatar, and Inigo paired with Chrom. Sol ensured they could never die.

Hard/Classic

What do you do all day, grind DLC? Also what difficulty???

Normal/Classic. I'm basically grinding out Supports/marrying my Units, getting Skills to pass down, etc.

I'm kind of regretting not going on Hard/Classic now [since my characters are all basically over-powered to the maximum, especially my MU/Tharja], but I guess that's what play-through #2 is for!

It's unfortunate Gold isn't carried over. I have so much and absolutely nothing to spend it on. It would have been nice to use it to transfer some of my current characters over to Hard, namely my MU.

If it's this easy to get overlevelled, I might play on higher difficulties when I finish the game. Hard just won't cut it if I have a team of all these ridiculous past Fire Emblem characters.

So, what exactly is the Golden Pack? The description makes it sound almost like it's just boosts or something.

It's basically cheats. One map gives the enemies drop absurd amounts of gold, another enemies give a tons of exp, and the last one the drop legendary weapons. They are all repeatable so the rewards are effectively infinite.

It's three maps.

The first one has nothing but enemies carrying droppable money that will run away allowing you to easily gain money.
The second one is the same expect all the enemies are those zombies that provide large amounts of exp. They also will run away meaning it'll be easy to kill those.
The third one is a map with many chests fulled with legendary weapons but guarded by enemies.

The last one will also net you an item and a new DLC character.

Hm. Crap. The guys on 8-4 said they thought the "weapon map" was the most entertaining DLC they worked on but I don't love the idea of buying what amount to just cheat codes.

Me neither. I guess they could be fun and useful on hard/lunatic but on normal they're probably overkill.

Considering that the last dlc is a map with enemies that go over the stat caps, you are going to need all the help you can get.

Yeah, I don't really like the idea of this kind of booster DLC. I'm fine with it existing but I don't think I'll bother with it.

Not necessarily. If they wish to make a direct sequel that ending likely wouldn't be very interesting.

I really hope a direct sequel happens. I don't want Fire Emblem to ever get stuck on one cast of characters for too long, but I'd like one more game with Chrom/Lucina/Avatar.

Going over some of the pairing possibilities, I had no idea what to do with Maribelle and Panne as far as their kid is concerned ;_; Makes it hard to figure out a min/max stat pairing when I don't even know what I want them to be!

Currently Maribelle/Gregor for the decent stat spread and Hero line into a War Monk; Panne/Frederick for that colossal stat gain but not sure if relevant, honestly, and the class options aren't amazing ;_; That and all of Panne's options have huge stat gains.

I will say that like half my army would be Swordmasters/Assassins if not for wanting to avoid same classes everywhere. I do kind of wish I had went Chrom/Olivia though, now that I sit down and look at the stats. Oh well whatever.

To anyone that lives within the NYC Area, and wants to play some Double Duels, there are two Fire Emblem Fridays events going on within the rest of February at Nintendo World Store from 6-8PM. If you want to get some StreetPass teams, as well as team up with people for Double Duels, here is your opportunity to do so! There were 20 people last week in spite of the Snow Storm, and we hope to see you guys there this week and next week!

I did not know this. I'm in.

I went vaike/maribelle gregor/panne.

vaike for the barbarian line axefaire/despoil which is good with brady's insane luck, and luna/gale from the mom line, he's my beast farmer which I use cynthia as a personal escort
.

They're not really cheat codes, it's just ... more efficient.

Yea, I bought the pack almost exclusively for this reason. I am playing on Hard Classic and don't feel like Grinding for hours just to get enough gold to buy something. Game is pretty stingy with money, and EXP map will be handy to bring along a new character faster. As you said efficient. If I didn't have to juggle an 8 month old, wife, and job perhaps I would choose the grinding route, but I for one am thankful for this.

Similar logic for
why I went Gregor. Vaike and Gregor for Lissa and Maribelle is where I keep flip-flopping on this ;_; Panne/Frederick might just be what I do since it's about all I have leftover unit wise anyway. Plus the hilarity of their Supports to begin with

So it's interesting if
Oh yea guys. Same enemy cuz he woke up again! Or maybe another crazy guy did a ritual/sacrifice and he's back!
???

If they plan to do a sequel, I'm guessing similar to the DS games. A few years apart and hell transfer everyone's relationship statuses (Married, son, daughter, etc) by loading completed save.

I've actually had a feeling that if they actually did a direct sequel/spinoff, they probably would use
Priam
as the main protagonist.

I hope they do a direct sequel to Awakening so they can pull an Oliver and revive Cervantes as a playable character. That dude is just too awesome to be a one-time boss.

Agreed.

I went
Frederick/Lissa well because they reminded me of Eirika/Seth + they give alot of different class + access to Pavise/Aegis/Luna. I kinda think Luna is necessary for Swordmasters due to their lower str and supposedly it works well with astra (i haven't tested it yet thought)

I do like all the small convos you get when you have certain characters face the enemies in the DLC chapters.

I like how of all people Kellam comments on Caeda talking too much to the enemy in battle.

I just got Tharja and her and Nowi are too awesome. Don't know which girl my +Speed/-Def Avatar should go for...

Chapter 9 is kind of fucked up though. Revengeance time!

If we're following the JP release slightly similarly, I'd expect to have
Gangrel
's spotpass paralogue today.

How do you get Spotpass characters?

Go to Bonus Box and it should be under Additional/Bonus Challenges. It'll unlock the map where you can go and recruit them if you can reach it.

That's a good point, I didn't even realize
I overlooked Luna entirely on Owain. Well, shoot. I focused a bit too much on Sol perhaps; Vaike/Gregor don't yield much class wise so maybe I should look more into this...

Hrm ... back to the drawing board perhaps.

Ohhh, I noticed there is something called Virizon Bow something in there too.

And I take back what I said about Lon QU. He is pretty badass once I got him to level 13.

Okay, Paralogue 18 (the free SpotPass map) seriously has one of the best lines of dialogue ever:

"Every word and every action of yours makes me want to paint the walls with my lunch!"

Well we aren't truly min/maxing otherwise the dads would be Henry/Libra due to the dark mage/sorceror being brokenly good
thanks counter for making melee suck

probably a girl with good speed/skill.

cordelias? Severa (with lonqu dad)?

My Tharja and Nowi has a lot of speed...almost as much as Cordy. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing cause I only pay just a little attention to the stats I get when I level up.
