I wanna finish this before I cosplay one of the characters, so I'm finally beating it. I finally got back into the swing of things after losing Ricken about 3x in a row, and I got to the end relatively easily. I use Vaike to kill Walhart because I wanted to give him that fat XP. And then I hear the "LOL RECRUITABLE" music sting after I kill him. Why the living hell would he be recruitable D:

Also how do relationships work? Is there a set amount of time units must be paired in battle in order to increase their relationship level? A set number of attacks?
You can see the relationship level increasing when hearts appear above a unit after doing some action (like fighting together or curing another, but not just standing still). If you do some of those actions and see no heart popping up, it means that they can't be a support pair at all. The number of actions necessary isn't well known. Apparently, you need to increase their relationship during at least two chapters to unlock the next support level/conversation though. Doesn't matter how many you get in a single chapter, it won't work.
So you can raise a whole bunch of supports really just doing spotpass/dlc battles, right? Just pair up different characters each turn and repeat twice, and all the pais will get a new support level?

I gather it takes 2 battles to raise one support rank so 8 total for C -> S. Sometimes it'd take 3 for the last rank (rare but I am dang sure I had to do 3 battles sometimes so let's just say 9 to be sure. 6-7 for C-> A then.
And a person can develop relationships with more than one person at a time.
So let's say I have a Severa and she's sandwiched between Inigo and Owain. As long as Severa's the one dealing damage to the enemy ranks (this way, she'll get hearts popping up between both Owain and Inigo) and with both males unequipped so the heart gain isn't lopsided, there shouldn't be any problem with raising Severa's supports.
This works as a triangle, diamond or cross formation. You'll have to reform this if a pesky 2 range enemy is hitting one of the outer units.
My god damned L button on my 3DS has stopped working reliably. You never realise how much you rely on that damn 'skip to next unused unit' button until it stops working
Fuck, I don't want to send this off to Nintendo, it's got all my shit on it. Fucking lack of an accounts system

If it's the unit you're sending them you shouldn't have to worry about it. It's their responsibility if something happens during the process, and they must keep your content when it returns to you. Also, just to be safe, just keep a backup of your data in your pc. Save data can be backed-up if that's what worries you (I checked this when my digital copy of FE got corrupted, just backed up the data, re-downloaded the game and restored the save data)

Even then Brady won't be that bad as he'll have access to dual guard + and luna, and it'll give you a decent caster Lucina. If you truly want a bad ass caster Lucina, you have to go female avatar as her parent though.
Heh, wow at the Anna/Tiki A support. I recommend doing it, it's pretty awesome.
Sweet, calm Tiki has one heck of a temper. A tranquil fury of course, she's just going to transform into a dragon and eat Anna unless she apologizes for exploiting Tiki's status as the Divine Oracle for gold. And I don't think Tiki was bluffing either. Of course, Anna doesn't learn a thing from it... except "Don't run a con against Tiki again." Also there's People for Ethical Treatent of Wyverns.
Also got Inigo recruited. That scene after the mission was just adorable and awkward...
Where Olivia and Inigo have a shy-off until Chrom breaks it up.
I have him supporting with female Morgan for now, not sure if that's sad or sweet, probably a little of both. Not going to marry off any of the second generation until I have them all. I think I only need to set up skills for two more of them, the rest can get what they need on their own.
Also, a Manakete riding a Griffon has got to be one of the most paranoid characters in the game. Weak to bows, wind magic, Beastslayer lances, and Wyrmslayer swords. At least she doesn't wear heavy armor.
If avatar is female, than her then it's in this order Olivia -> Sumia -> Maribelle -> Sully -> Village Girl (it's only if nobody else is available and by far the worst possible parent for her). Most people prefer Olivia over Sumia, but I think the difference is minimal at best.
Also another question, is it recommended if I play other games in the series before this one or is it OK to start the series for the first time on this game?
