First screenshots of Ramza in Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade

I don't think he looks too bad. I'm more salty they didn't use this Ramza

Yoshida didn't design Elza and Reddas. That was Nao Ikeda, of Team NORA fame.

Oh god, why'd you remind of these things.

Still that makes a lot of sense in hindsight.

I understand the feeling, but in previous entries of Dissidia, the character's that make their appearances in the games are always usually them before they receive any kind of character development in the game, you know, so we can retread their story in a new setting because that's so fun and interesting.

That being said, it makes sense that they would go with Squire Ramza for Dissidia.

Forgive my ignorance, it's just that she died so quickly and did so much nothing.

Well, yeah. :(

She did do a lot though, it was just... all in the datalogs.

Like, she was the head of Psicom and was in charge of the Purge at the beginning of the game, and she lead the investigation on Dajh and his l'Cie powers and...

So much wasted potential. There was a really great antagonistic relationship between her and Sazh for all the shit she pulled with Dajh and even Nomura said that we would have preferred that Sazh and Jihl represent FF13 in the Dissidia games because of that relationship but it's all for fucking nothing in the end.

:(

I was talking earlier in the thread about how crappy of a villian Bartandalus is. I wouldnt be surprised if the 13 representitive was Cid... I said Cid or Jihl earlier but your post makes it sound like Jihl is definately out.

I'd prefer Jihl but because Cid ends up as a Cocoon l'Cie and is forced to fight against Lightning he becomes the more tragic obvious choice.

He's just as fucking boring as Bartandalus is though honestly.

I have my doubts that Cid will get in. Can't see them adding XIII's Cid of all Cids to be the playable Cid.

I won't be surprised if they ignore XIII and just have Caius be the XIII-series villain.

Jihl is the Captain Phasma of FFXIII.

LOL

Omg YES. Jihl and Phasma were in all the trailers and promo shots and people were calling her a female Sephiroth and then well...

Surprise!

Uuuuuugh.

That's the story of FFXIII's life isn't it?

All the things that should have been shown weren't, all the of the things that were shown honestly didn't amount to shit.

I am baffled by FFXIII to this day.

If they're going with an antagonist from the sequels, Lumina would make more sense. It'd fit with the other new XIII characters being the Saviour of Souls and the Knight of Etro.

I don't hate it but it's too effeminate and wouldn't fit within Tactics itself.

I just hope that means we're getting an updated port of War of the Lions to Steam and Ps4/Vita. That game is just incredible.

So cool! I would love to see Marche in this style. Marche is one of my favorite FF characters just based on his design(and maybe a little bit because of how controversial he was to fans).

Haven't read more than a few posts, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that thought Ramza was a girl as a kid based on the portrait art. Don't see much of a difference now other than he's even more beautiful.

I've never been able to get into FFT so I didn't know instinctively by title that this was a male, so I was a little surprised at how flat-chested this female character was.. I was kind of impressed at the level of realism of a sword-wielder having small or taped down breasts. In every image in the OP, I am certain that is the face of a female. Crazy.

I've come a long way from 2001 of thinking Marth looked like a girl to actually seeing anime guys that actually now look like girls, and I have to say, this render brings it to a whole new level of that's just straight up a woman

Well that is certainly a female human face.

I will be unable to refer to this character as anything but "she" now. There's no possible way you could convince me otherwise. Not. Possible. This is fine, of course, but I don't know if it was the actual intention or not. Every possible feature is feminine other than the relatively thin thighs compared to the extremely high waist.

This is an absolute slam dunk case compared to the well-discussed androgynous Link from last year.

That's true

In this original (noseless) art, his face is longer and his shoulders/arms are broader, giving him a less androgynous look. He certainly looks like an underdeveloped teen, but that is the point.

In this new game he just straight out looks like a teenage girl, with wide hips, narrow shoulders/arms, and a rounder face with eyes, nose, and mouth closer together (more feminine characteristics).

Best post.

Poor Jihl. Just another victim to XIII's writing.
Yaag at least
got a cool death scene
, but he was also underutilized.

Also, battle armor Ramza is the Ramza you spend the most time with, and you're even introduced to him looking like that, so it's surprising they went with his noble attire. I guess they're sticking to the first (chronological) appearance rule.

Holy hell, could have just said it was women and I would have not have thought out it.

Ramza ultra feminine features make one distractedly beautiful man, I'm so conflicted.

Platinumed FFXIII and I don't even remember who Yaag is. I had to look up what happened to Jihl too. So sad that an interesting world did not have writing that lived up to it.

Dissidia was big on alternative outfits so an armored Ramza seems likely.
