New squat PR today, 275x1
Let's go buddy! Congrats man. How difficult was it?
Gotta put up 200 X 7-8 reps today on bench. It'll be a new PR as well.

Thanks mang. I put up 245x5 today and I had two visual spotters so I figured why not. It felt good and I even paused in the pocket.
You're gonna nail bench.

GAF, what is the best digital pedometer/metric device that I can use on my runs? I want to nerd out on data.
My only requirement is that it needs to be lax on requiring a data connection *while* running. I live in Rainier, WA, and do most of my running on a trail that goes through the forest, some cattle ranches, and an equestrian center. Not exactly 4G territory. Sometimes not even G territory.
Ronnie Coleman style.
Light weight baby!
Was only able to get 200 X 5 on bench today. Still more than the 1 rep I needed for the third week of bench, but fuck I got 195 X 9 just last week. =(
Does anybody else have problems with foot supination when you're squatting? It's really diffictult to get rid of. When I try to move up during a squat both of my feet naturally start to supinate I guess. A little like this, but not as exaggerated.
I know that can't be good form.
Get lifting shoes with a firm heel.
Id say lower the weight, try a wider stance, and concentrate on pushing off your heels slowly through the motion

Both.
Work on your ankle mobility.
Thanks, also am I correct in assuming that if two people followed the same training regime but one person decided to not have a calorie surplus but again do the same amount of reps/exercises that they would be as equally strong but the person who eats more would 'look' stronger?
No, because the caloric deficit would reduce or eliminate the muscle mass gains that are so important to progress. Neural gains only get you so far! Thanks, also am I correct in assuming that if two people followed the same training regime but one person decided to not have a calorie surplus but again do the same amount of reps/exercises that they would be as equally strong but the person who eats more would 'look' stronger?
I could use some advice on a couple things if you guys don't mind me asking.
1) my schedule is not like most. I work Tuesday nights-Saturday nights(graveyard shift) 10pm-6am and 11pm-7am. I'm trying to figure out when I should go to the gym on the nights I work. Should I go when I get off work or go home and sleep then wake up and go to the gym? Should I try both to see which one fits the best?
2) Because of said schedule and getting off early in the morning, my eating habits and the whole eating breakfast/lunch/dinner and small snacks throughout the day have gone completely out the window. Should I still eat breakfast when I get home in the mornings even though I go to bed afterwards? This is the most perplexed I've been about my healthy eating habits.
No I haven't. What is it?The old 6 meals a day thing isn't really something to worry about. Have you considered Intermittant Fasting?
I had a friend start SS today after months of f-around with Insanity and P90X.
He went to the gym for the first time in his life, was welcomed by a gym coach dude bro, he asked him what he was going to do, my friend said squats deadlifts and pullups, the coach rofled at him and dragged him through the gym making fun of his first day routine with the gym regulars.
My friend insisted on doing what he wanted, but was ultimately bullied into 4 sets of 10 on machines.

Hmm...
So I think I did something to my elbow with tbar rows. Ever since Thursday it's been bothering me a little.
It's not a sharp pain, it's like a dull, constant soreness. Looking online I might have tendonitits. I think I'm going to go through the motions of my other exercises this week, starting very light, and see what else bothers it. If it still has this constant, dull soreness by next week I'm making a doctors appointment.
No I haven't. What is it?
I used to get tendinitis bad in my left elbow. It's just something you have to work around until you get through it. Ice helps and so does compression but the "cure" for me was just staying away from exercises that made it worse for awhile.
I can feel my gains seeping out of me as I lay here in the hospital over the next 12 weeks my legs will be able to fit in skinny jeans again lol. My only hope is that I'll be able to do upper body in about a month and get hella swole.
I guess it's time I bought some lifting shoes although the ones linked earlier on were a tad bit on the expensive side. Up until now, I've just been using the flattest shoes I could find.
I'll have to do this then. I feel like I have to concentrate on so many little things in my form, and if one messes up, it all kinda goes to hell. The movement doesn't feel natural at all even though toddlers can do it so easily. Ah well. I'll get this right soon enough.
Anyone carb back loading (not carb nites) in here? Been doing it for a month and its been a very great diet.
are any of you following what's happening to Matt Ogus and his Youtube channel right now...
Is it good/bad and/or funny?
I only scanned a few comments but I guess he does erotic gay stuff on cam for pay? Whatever. Dude's personal life is his business. I like my insane youtube fitness drama to be Frank Yang style.
Yeah whatever, everyone has some weird shit from their past. I find it kinda entertaining that all these YouTube comments are freaking out over any tie with homosexuality... meanwhile the channel they watch is all about watching a man get swole and appear shirtless and discussing his physique in intense detail. The internet is weird.
Apparently he did it when he was younger, before he was a Youtube celeb. Meh. Live and learn.
Opinions on Elliot Hulse?
