EDIT: just read that Villas-Boas is the same age as Drogba and Lampard haha

That's very young. Will be interesting to see if he can manage all the "stars" in the team. Want to know what he will do with Torres as well.

This is shaping up to be a good season for you guys. If Falcão and Hulk follow suit... Domingos will put Sporting back on trail.

First time in many years that i actually look forward to a season let me tell you that.

I'm still hoping this is all BS stirred up by the Portuguese media. They are the only ones who have all but "confirmed" that he is leaving, while British sites state that he is a prime candidate. I guess we'll see what comes out today.

At this stage any news is worth a thought. So hope this happens.

Its true. Falcao also posted on facebook about it, but I think they're both just reacting to the news and don't really know anything.

*edit* Actually, Alvaro Pereira "community manager" just rectified that Alvaro didn't even write that, he did.

I'm liking this. It's looking less and less likely that Cesc Fabregas will leave Arsenal this season. I just can't see Arsenal bending on their required fee.

Spurs kits are smart! I'm glad for there fans that they dropped the different look sponsor insignia for different tournaments.

Would have been better if they dropped the A logo (text is fine) on their home shirt.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much

As far as I'm aware we will still have Investec as our sponsor in cup competitions, with Aurasma for PL games.

I'm hoping for that too but I'm trying to prepare myself for the worse. And the worse means Villas-Boas goes (why the fuck would you leave the boat like that is beyond me, can't really understand... he's 33, he'll get hundreds of offers next year too if he stays, doesn't need to leave this year and certainly doesn't need to leave this way) and takes one or two players with him...

It's not that hard to understand. People want big money now, not big money later.

Are you FC Porto fan? If not I understand that you're not into details. Villas-Boas is a FC Porto fan like some of us here are and swore that he loved the club and wanted to be here next season, after saying during all season that he was in his dream chair, that it was his dream to coach FC Porto since he was a little kid. We here take men's word very seriously, specially this man's word. I find it very hard to believe that he's doing this to the club he loves when there's one week left until we start our season.

That's modern football, I'm afraid. Money talks and there is no such thing as loyalty. That's the reality. Villas-Boas is going to leave and is probably going to take Falcao and Hulk with him.

Wow, looks like it's getting messy. Surprised Villas Boas is so desperate to leave Porto already. It's a big opportunity for him though, do not begrudge him wanting to take it but this will leave a bitter taste at the club he loves.

Edit - just read that apparently him resigning is part of the way his release clause works. Once Chelsea pay the €15m Boas is free to go there.

If it's true AVB jibbed Porto for Chavski what a piece of shit he is.

On the verge of greatness with his club he supports he could have turned Porto into one of the greatest sides in europe but he chose the quick money and a poison chalice.

What a kick in the teeth for F.C. Porto fans.

Just had my Tweet about #ShaunGoaterday retweeted 26 times. MCFC and Natalie Pike included.

(if you don't know who Natalie Pike is Google her. Hot and a BIG football fan)

Porto have confirmed they have accepted the resignation of Andre Villas-Boas.

Time for Chelsea to pay up.

Now they just need to sort out Hiddink as Sporting Director and they are all set. It's looking pretty ominous for the rest of the top 6 in the PL.

Well they have to go and get the players now. If they pick up some quality buys than yeah, Chelsea will be looking good for this season.

But as long as Abramovich is signing the pay cheques...anything can happen!

How do you figure sports fan?

You don't know the guy, so you can't say he is or isn't in it for the money. Maybe he feels like he's proved himself at Porto and he wants to move on to bigger things. He's clearly ambitious and it's the next logical step. I mean, even fans of other clubs are commenting how good this could be for the league (but mainly us :lol).

Serious newspapers (Público) are confirming the news. It's like the Guardian confirming a rumour, not the The Sun or Daily Mirror...

You obviously haven't been following his career as we (F.C. Porto) fans did. He's supposed to be the biggest FC Porto fan ever, this was his dream job, he would never switch seats, bla bla bla.

I'm pretty sure he promised the fans and club he would not leave. Nothing wrong with leaving IMO, just don't say you won't in the first place.
