on the away sure... but how about ronnie on the home? or will he never actually play for brazil again. I am not sure how well his moving home plan worked out.
Dunno about the coach of Brazil but seems like the fans in Brazil are loving him again.

Possibly, or maybe Pedro will have to take a backseat.

You think? Villa sitting on the bench sounds more likely. Barcelona always put their home players ahead of other players, even if foreign players are better.

All they are trying to do is unsettle the player and force him into a transfer request, just like Chelsea did with Modric. They know he won't be sold for that price.

Cesc allegedly signed a long-term contract back in 2008, with some suggesting it was a 6-7 year deal. Either way, he still has 'several years' left on his remaining contract and yet Barca feel that he is not worth more than 30m-35m despite that, despite his age.

If Barca truly wanted Cesc, they would land an offer Arsenal could not refuse. Instead they mock us with petty shenanigans that they know will be rejected solely to unsettle the player himself. I hope he's smart enough to realise they are using him as a pawn in this. It's a complete show of disrespect, mirroring the antics of Puyol and Pique with their constant mockery of Arsenal fans

This picture alone should raise the figure by £10m. I would say to Cesc; if they really want you, they'll show it with a serious offer. You can go if the price is right, otherwise you're staying here. Or, you can become a hate figure and ask for a transfer formally - which we'll in turn reject.

As far as I'm concerned, regardless of what happens, he should lose the Captaincy until he signs a new contract and ends this saga. Of course he won't, meaning he is still hoping for a transfer one day. So how can you be club captain when you're auditioning for another team? But Wenger is too much of a fucking pussy for that. Him remaining captain is a bigger slap in the face than anything Barca's PR team could do. At this rate both may not be at Arsenal next year and I personally wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I'm quite enjoying this saga of Barca trolling Arsenal about Cesc. everyone knows how this story is going to end.

Its just a matter of "is this the year?" "No?"
*another trophyless season*
"is this the year?"

until they just get on with it and sell. quite frankly I'm surprised Cesc has stuck around this long. this'll be year 4 of it being Cesc's team and their trophy prospects are decreasing by the year.

Kind of iffy on this defense though. Excited about Casillas and Fierro (idk if that's how you spell it).

pretty much this...the defense went to sleep on the 2nd goal...ball watchin instead of clean tackle also the gk had some questionable butterfinger moments.
Also fierro has been improving his game by running down the flanks chasing the ball and provide crosses to others. I also like to mention that the midfield was iffy too...bad passes, lost the ball numerous times and couldnt get provide service much of the time.

Carlos Salcido won't be able to play tomorrow's match, but Andrés Guardado will.

I rather it were the other way around. United States counters are going to hurt.

Anyone know why Jona didn't play vs Colombia? Also, Enriquez was a beast. Only 20 year old, but is tall, great with the ball, and plays very good defense. I think Jona would be perfect playing next to him.

It's a good thing I'm sitting down. I agree entirely.

Torres Nilo gonna start then. He's pretty good in the offense and sometimes defense. He can tackle good but the only flaw I've seen is tracking all the way back to provide some cover on his defensive flank. Anyways, Chepo should have Guardado cover him whenever Nilo goes forward to provide some crosses/passes for goal.

Anyways, Im sure Salcido is counseling him and showing him how to cover his own ass and not leave any space open for the nads.

The only issue I have with this is that Arsenal will suffer greatly without Cesc around. I have previously stated my desire to have him stripped of captaincy as well but that could very well be the last straw for Fabregas and his demand for a transfer and to force a deal through would surely follow such a decision so I can understand Wenger's reluctance to take such steps knowing the consequences.

We sell Cesc, next season we not only win nothing but lose our CHampions league spot and it's hard to see Wenger surviving and without Cesc this squad we currently have cannot match our rivals.

The other problem is if Arsenal get rid of Wenger Cesc will almost certainly quit Arsenal.

Hmmm graig gardner looks on his way to us, not a bad player £5m with addons it looks like still only 24 seems to have been around for ages. Wonder if that means we arnt getting gibson would seem alot to spend on central mid alough i think we need it.

If Liverpool really do sell Meireles theres just no way I will ever look on that club with kind eyes.

Can they really sell a player who has been absolutely fantastic for them the whole season?

Van Persie is more important to you than Fabregas.

How much do you guys think barca could get for Gaby Milito? 5m? Everytime he is on the ball since his injury in 2009 he seems unsure of himself. Plus we concede more goals when he is around.

These bids and media antics are not to unsettle Fabregas. The player is already unsettled and agreed personal terms last year in June with Barca, in the advance of a deal being reached with Arsenal. These media antics are more to unsettle the Arsenal fans and board and encourage Arsenal to let the player leave for a reasonable price. Also, there's probably a little payback involved for all the times Arsenal has poached Barca youth players (including Fabregas).

The only way we'll sell him as far as I can see is if we bring in a better replacement first. As I've said I'd be massively disappointed to see him go, but we really have had a lot of good competition in centre mid the second half of the season. Raul's only really come into his own under Kenny as well, although I certainly don't blame him for that - I don't think many of our players could play well under The Owl's systems, especially not when being told they're useless every week in pre-match press conferences.

Do Liverpool fans not know about NESV/FSG and the Red Sox?

We do. I assume you're referring to their ability to take risks which might seem unpopular and turn them into good business? The only pointers to Raul leaving at the moment are complete rumours, so we'll have to see what happens and whether he actually does leave. Hopefully they find a way to keep him here.

Not really. I'm sure he does take a tumble but whenever I've seen him play he isn't in the mould of Neymar/Nani when it comes to theatrics.

K1LLER7 said:
yes, similarley to Nani, probably get around 15 goals a season.

Uh... wonder what will happen when he goes to Barça.

Anyway, still don't get this Barça obsession for Cesc. There's no room for him. Bench, bench, bench. That's all he can look forward to.

Not sure I agree with this. More than ever it's a squad game and as we know Barca's squad isn't huge. Cesc is rare for them, in that not only is he good enough to play for them but he doesn't need to learn or adapt to their systems. He can fit in immediately. It offers them another option which doesn't reduce the quality of their team. Iniesta can play wide left also. And yeah, Xavi and Iniesta won't be playing every single game. Cesc will have plenty of time on the pitch.

I think a big part of the reason Barca are playing this as they are is because Cesc is a sitting duck for them. Even if City offer 50m for Cesc he is not interested. He wants to go to Barcelona alone. That itself means they can drive a very hard bargain.

In the end I reckon they will pay up but I don't think Arsenal will get close to 50m for him. Between 35-40 and I think he will be sold. Barca and esp Guardiola want him bad though. I reckon they see him as the next captain of Barcelona.

I don't know. I don't see it, honestly. You make valid points in any case.

Interesting interview, he seems to be a real "team player" very different to Jose with regards to his personality.
I hope he can bring success to us and hopefully he can get on with managing the team, bringing in his own players and getting rid of deadwood as he sees fit. Its time for Roman to leave his manager to do his job, get involved when asked not when it suits him. I was delighted when Roman came along and getting Mourinho was certainly great for the club but since then his decision making (except for appointing Ancelotti) has been questionable.

If he wants trophies, give AVB time and he'll do it.

Team player is a good way to describe him indeed. You are so right about Roman, and I hope he is more patient this time around, he has landed one of the potentially best managers for Chelsea ever, and let's hope he doesn't screw that up. I'm still so surprised they landed AVB there, it's so awesome :)!

You're most welcome man, that funny video was a hard find, and interesting to see him working for Chelsea way back :)

Awesome. Thanks! Season can't begin soon enough. Is it too earlier to petition AVB as manager for life? Or at least until Torres leaves. ;)

Great interview. I chuckled a bit when he got all tongue-tied, stuttery when he was talking about a new way of communicating with players, management, and the owner.

You're most welcome bro, having AVB for life would be a dream, let's see how he performs during his first of (hopefully) many seasons.

A lot of people bitter about Ronaldo's accomplishments. Challengers coming from all sides.

Ronaldo will feed on that.

Haters gonna hate. I'm a Barca and Chelsea nut yet I highly admire Ronaldo's skill, there's no denying it.

Embarrassing match, really need to get that defense solved for the next season. Hopefully Cetto is a step in the right direction and Munoz won't have too many chances to fuck shit up.
god damn do i hate munoz. he played like he was being paid to sabotage games and that's really not even exaggerating.
