I'm going to have to get that jacket when it's out.

This out in the Villa shop yet?

^ No idea to be honest.

Hearing Downing is pretty adamant on moving. I doubt we let him go until we have brought in replacements. I predict he'll be a last week/day mover.

Terrible but deserved, something has to change inside the FMF, i think this shows a lack of leadership in the federation, be it Justino or De Maria, too many fuck ups during their shitty administration to consider this a coincidence.

I honestly think it's the players who are at fault here, Justino and De Maria had nothing to do with it.

So looks like Connor Wickham will be having a medical at Sunderland tomorrow.

Just goes to show how much these "in the know" journalists actually know. The lad was supposed to be a stick on for coming to Liverpool.

Not long now to pre-season and all is still quiet at Melwood.

I know we intend to keep everything behind closed doors, but its not making a whole lot of sense at the moment. Kenny and Comolli seemed intent on having most of the signings done by pre-season, and yet all we have so far is Henderson and more "strong links" to Adam. Hardly the kind of deals I would imagine would keep Pepe around.

Maybe im overthinking this, and Im hoping well see some big coups over the next week or two, but I dont know, it's just not sitting well right now.

If I could have one player in his prime for Rovers I think I'd go for a unobvious one:

Absolute Rovers legend in the making before Sven dropped him from the world cup squad for no reason and he crashed in Rome rather than living his dream. Oh what could have been.

Other than that Shearer (best Rovers players of all time) or Ronnie Clayton.

To be fair there have been hardly any deals at all so far this summer. Obv the window isn't even open on the continent yet but even within England there hasn't been much movement.

It's not as easy as that though. All the players we are linked with are also wanted by other clubs which obviously delays things.

Plus the transfer window for foreign plays isn't even open yet! Wouldn't worry too much just yet!

Oh i completely agree, its just not what I expected from the promises of silently and quickly, in time for the pre-season.

Overall, been pretty shit for everyone though so far, you're right.

EDIT: and im not convinced about the whole international transfer window thing. Hasn't stopped Newcastle or Man Utd.

Nah its defo not open. Marveux was out of contract, and De Gea hasn't signed yet.

Eeesh, kinda BS considering we took him injured. On a more positive (IE: not gonna happen) rumour, Diego Ribas to Villa?

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...go-in-talks-over-'dream'-english-move?cc=5901

Unlikely. Whilst his skill is a class above what we have I think his wages would be too high, he would demand too much attention, and generally be a nuisance in the dressing room - as has been proven in other places.

Before we can even consider him we need to ship out Ireland and Beye who are taking up £100k a week in wages and they're not playing.

It's kinda depressing to think how many hours I've lost to FM over the years :(

The one bad thing about Steam is that it lists all those hours for you.

Valve are cruel bastards.

River Plate's stadium, Estadio Monumental, will be closed for a year and River Plate will probably spend the next season at Nacional B with a -6 or -10 penalisation.

Once I passed 500 hours for the second time in FM games (FM 09 and 10 each) I just stopped looking, I can't bare to see what I've done in 11 :( Probably only around 200-300 though this time, haven't played it as much as previous games.

It's still gonna be fun. I will be rooting for Uruguay after Mexico gets demolished.

I was really looking forward to the midfield trio of Jona, Enriquez, and Cabrera, alongside Gio and Fabian. It was already a blow when concashit forced us to send an u22 team. This just made it worse.

I'll probably just end up doing what you're doing. Only because of Based Forlan.

CONCACAF prohibited Mexico and Costa Rica from sending their top teams to Copa América in an effort to not devalue their Gold Cup performances.

It's not like Fergie was going to allow Chicharito to play in both tournaments anyway. He would have missed the pre-season.

I would have liked to but no job and tickets being sold out in less than 2 hours mean its just not happening for me

Yep, I'm going. Hopefully gonna have some good pictures to post! Definitely interested to see if Fergie tries something tactically different...and (assuming he stays) I'd love to see what Berbatov could do against Barca, as well as Nani.

As sad as it is to see Sammy leave the club again at the same time I think everyone expected it to come. Sammy is a great servant to the club but he isn't future, nor interim manager material. Clarke on the other hand is Kenny's right hand man and deserves the title and accolade of being the assistant manager, I think the players would also agree judging from how highly they've spoken of him in the last six months.

I would honestly expect Clarke to take over when Kenny retires in many years time, and I feel Kenny would ensure and push for that to happen too. Clarke is still relatively young in managerial terms and has expressed an overt interest in becoming a manager. He can spend the next 5 or so years watching Kenny's man management skills and embracing the clubs culture so he can eventually take over and revert back to the bootroom structure.

As far as Clarke's tactical know-how goes, that can't be debated, he's one of the best.

From the Mirror, I'd take this as complete rumour for now, but:

Arsenal may lose both Fabregas and Nasri this week

I can't see it. Unless Wenger already has a clear idea of replacements / has signed someone and kept it under wraps, why would Arsenal let both players go so close to each other? Would have a serious effect on the team.
Mata replacing Nasri wouldn't surprise me in the least. Replacing Fabregas would be much harder, however.

Same Mirror that exclusively revealed last week that we were signing Defoe.

I can see us selling Fabregas if Barca cough up and pay what Cesc is actually worth but I can't see us selling Nasri to United.

wish we have a new creative midfielder by then and play 4-3-3

midfield: Jones/fletcher, Rooney, new mid

hahahahha at madrid trying to jack the price up, what a bunch fucking cunts. can't win on the pitch? well, lets try with off the pitch tactics!

shit club, pathetic behaviour. they know that if fabregas goes to barcelona, it's all over.

Yep if anyone has been pathetic with this Cesc transfer saga it has been Barca, not a arsenal fan but the way they have been acted even got me pissed off.

Wenger said he wouldn't but if Nasri wants to leave, Arsenal will cash in and I haven't heard rumours about other clubs wanting him too. Also, didn't hunter say arsenal wanted Mata? he's a good player and maybe his replacement. (hope so as a united fan)

What are you talking about? Even without Fabregas it's all over. Hell, they just won champions league in dominating fashion.

If Man U offer 20mil for Nasri then let the guy go. Nasri is not loyal to us, he is doing neither the fans nor the club any favors with this contract crap he is pulling and imo he is easily replaceable.

Cesc on the other hand needs to be sold at his market value or not sold at all. Selling him on the cheap is going to infuriate me with Gazidis and Hil-Wood. I would sell to Real since they will obviously offer more and Fabregas wants to go back to Spain.

How are Juventus financing these transfers, is it just from the expected revenues from the new stadium or cash reserves?

I think it's a combination of both and..
Tuttosport says Juve’s board meets today and are expected to rubberstamp a proposal for the club to make €120 million available for new signings PLUS another €70 million through a loan from Exor.

Andrea Agnelli, Juve’s president, has already convinced club backers Exor to make available the massive loan.

The new money will allow Juve to meet Atletico Madrid’s asking price for Sergio Aguero and help Marotta to compete in the top end of the transfer market.

€190M is crazy!
