That Liverpool one is funny in theory, but it's just a load of shite. The consensus is from the fans perspective that the only player we ever really wanted from those 3 was Jones, and I don't see the majority of fans saying he's not worth it now either.

And while the whole pre-season "this could be our year" thing is funny if you hear it because it's been going on since the Premier League began, it's just as funny from a Liverpool fans perspective to hear "Kenny coming back isn't going to do anything, typical Liverpool fans whining when they have a shit team", then we go and play Chelsea, United and City off the park.

I just read that tomorrow it's been 5 years since Löw took over the German team, 7 years if you doubt Klinsmann's skills and think Löw did all the important stuff since then, anyway.

Feels like forever and I can't really think of another one that could do the job as well as him at the moment (Klopp in like 10+ years would be perfect). But we really need to win the Euro next year or I guess we have to seriously consider a different coach. As much as I like Jogi, the guy finally has to win something, I'm tired of 3rd place or 2nd...

I don't think we have any Liverpool fans like that here, but the whole "this could be our year"/stereotypical Liverpool fan rambling pre-season is so fucking hilarious. Especially when you know people, who actually say stuff like that to your face :p
:lol :lol :lol awesome. I've already had a few Liverpool fans tell me Sneijder is an average player and they hope United sign him cos it'll be a waste of money. Gotta love the stereotypical football fan.

Can someone post the United and Chelsea ones here? Can't view it on my phone on the site for some reason.

This is totally our year btw.

Charlie Adam the new Xabi Alonso and all that.

Whether we take the title or not, I think we're in for a good season. Should win something at least.

:lol the United one would have worked perfectly last summer I reckon. This year we've done some okay business.

"Is John Terry okay with it" made me laugh out loud for sure.

Cheers for posting them!

TFF just announced that the league will go as planned on the 5th of August.

Fenerbahce and Besiktas will play out the Turkish Super Cup on the 31st of July.

Fenerbahce will play in the group stages of the Champions League.

So basically, haters gonna hate and present insufficient evidence cause they refuse to believe that we are the best fucking football team in Turkey.
Damn straight. Now the Turkish media can fuck off :)

It's still not over yet though. Now we await the verdict from the pending trial of our president. If he's found guilty of match fixing then we most probably get relegated.

Sneijder is one of my favorite players in football. It's such a shame he was injured during his stint at Madrid. :(

As for Kaka, I would much rather see him on the pitch instead of Di Maria. Di Maria makes too many mistakes and is a liability in big games. So it would be great if Kaka found his form again :/

kaka is done @ madrid

sell him while he's still worth some $$$

to submit the list this early just reeks of corruption.

What happened to make you hate him so much lol.
not too sure but did it have something to do with him going to the last copa america or the world cup when he wasn't fit? Whichever it was, it's cost Madrid pretty badly. Still hoping for him to find his form and dominate in a clasico. Even though it's not likely to happen :(

Extent of Essien's injury finally confirmed: had surgery today for a blown ACL + meniscus :(

Ugh, I hate when that happens to my countrymen. Him and John Mensah being out all the time is such a damn shame. However, for his career's sake, he needs to hang it up his international boots, those 34 year old knees can only take much more stress.

It was the world cup he went to.

thanks :)
imo if I was coming towards the end of my career like he is (29/30 now?) i'd go to the world cup.
Would have been better for him to miss it though seen as he'd probably miss the world cup in brazil now.

He is 29. I think real should sell him on to be honest.

Kaka leading Madrid's 'second string' to a 3-6 away victory at the Mestalla just a few months ago (Valencia was third in the league): http://youtu.be/vNF_uHxPm4A

I think he still has it.

It doesn't really matter if he's still good, what matters is that Özil is like twice the player he currently is. And they play the same position. And someone mentioned why Kaka doesn't play over Di Maria. Reason is simple, Di Maria tracks back and helps defense (quite underrated trait in his play, he worked his ass off for Madrid last season). Kaka is almost useless in defensive play. Not to mention Di Maria is a winger, Kaka is not.

and then he missed games due to injury iirc
*shrug* robben missed so many games for Bayern and still lead them to a double and the CL final. I think Kaka would be a great signing for any team willing to pay his wages. It's a damn shame he's been pushed out of the picture at Madrid.

How many appearances did he make for them last year after coming back from being injured?

As someone already pointed out, I think the main issue is that Real swap managers so frequently that its going to be difficult to hold his place in the first team when he's always in the trainers room and not on the practice field. He also wasn't a player who Jose signed up. Mourinho likes winning with his guys.

Fergie basically just confirmed no Nasri or Sneijder and that Nasri has "agreed to go elsewhere".

No mention doesn't necessarily mean confirmation of no bid on Sneijder. Still doubt that deal would happen given the wages which would be demanded, anyway, but still: no confirmation either way, really.

Fergie was pretty concrete on Nasri, though: "Nasri, no. I don't think he's coming to United. I think he's agreed to go somewhere else. Maybe he has to stay at Arsenal too. That's a possibility."

Are these Fergie mind games?
It could be a very elaborate smoke screen or more likely due to the problems caused by giving him a contract matching what City are allegedly offering.

I think he is off to City.

SSN reporter said fergie stated he was looking for a replacement for scholes, or someone who can play the same creative role. wouldn't be suprised with a "no value in the market" and "we asked for ozil" statements from david gill. Another year with carrick and gibson playing the midfield, ugh.

EDIT: Tevez would be for the move seen as he'll be with his family. Are they the first team to bid for tevez?
City should wait for a couple of days and wait to see if any other teams start to bid.

There's a reasonable suspicion that he's diverting attention from a deal he's lining up--whether that's Sneijder or someone less media-vaunted--since his usual answer to questions along the lines of potential transfers is some derivation of "no comment" or something otherwise vague. Personally, I think he's got a Plan A or B signing about to come together, but that he wouldn't mind too much going into the new season putting faith in Anderson and Cleverley to step up and play sizable roles. The fact that he's willing to let go of Gibson alongside the retirement of Scholes and release of Hargreaves, thus bringing our tally of lost midfielders up to three this summer, pushes me to think signing someone is in his plans, at the least--I just don't see him panic-buying if those plans fall apart, though.

Are there any rumors about Mertesacker from English media or something?

He said he wants to play in England "some day", Werder Bremen can't afford to sign a new contract with him and they seem to need money to reinvest. I guess if some club is putting in an offer, he's gone. Not sure if anyone wants him, though, he's injured and his last season was pretty bad. There were Arsenal rumors last year, is Wenger still interested? Could work out...

Sir Alex on replacing Paul Scholes: "How do you replace somebody like Paul Scholes? It's very difficult. If you bracket four of the best midfield players in the world he'd be alongside Xavi and Iniesta and then you take your pick. In my mind he's one of the top four players in the world. How will we overcome it? Maybe the next few weeks will help us overcome it. Maybe somebody will emerge out of the youth team or one of the young players ermerge, and then we carry on."
