Well at least he loves Jesus. Would be pretty sweet if Balotelli would wear one saying "I love Satan" one day, will wait for him to do it against Brazil at the world cup.

This is isn't as far fetched as you think!

Di Marzio saying it should be considered a done deal. Time to let it go. Fuck it, we'll always have Pogba.

The next Patrick Vieira!

..as in, he'll fuck off somewhere else after one year.

And Di Marzio is on a roll lately!

"Horne says no chance of GLT spreading to other decisions in game. Also says could be introduced in PL half way through THIS coming season"

So how's this goal line tech gonna work? Similar to hawk-eye in Tennis?

There are two companies who have tendered for the contract. One is Hawkeye, the other is a Dutch/German company who will use magnetic fields to determine if the ball crosses the line.

Good to see Hawkeye could be used then. Hopefully it doesn't cause long stoppages in games

They just said they wouldn't even consider looking into it. Only goal line technology. Leave the rest for the referees.

Despite what they say, I feel that it's inevitable. Not any time soon, but eventually we'll reach a point where bad offside decisions will be made often due to players being on a whole nother level.

Until then, let's have instant replays for penalty box decisions.

Arrested Development is killing me. Gob's chicken dance is the most retarded-ish and funny thing I've ever seen. :lol

150-250k to install per stadium.
Both systems:

Goalref
GoalRef features a microchip in the ball and low magnetic waves around the goal. Any change in the field on or behind the goalline determines the scoring of a goal

Hawk-Eye
The Hawk-Eye system was first developed by Dr. Paul Hawkins in 1999. The Hawk-Eye system has since been improved by engineers at Roke Manor Research Limited and is an existing technology currently used in cricket, tennis and snooker. It is based on the principle of triangulation using the visual images and timing data provided by high-speed video cameras at different locations around the area of play. The system uses six, spread out, high speed cameras to triangulate and track the ball in flight. The software calculates the ball’s location for each frame by identifying the pixels that correspond to the ball through at least two cameras.

Goalref > Hawk-Eye
Why? Because German engineers are involved.

They'll also use both systems in the club world cup in Japan.

Just put small cameras in both goal posts and on top - looking down on the line. Simple and cheap. Don't mess with the ball.
