Sleeping Dogs was one of my favorite games last gen -- right behind RDR for best game in that genre of open world action titles. Other than Crackdown, I've never really made a point to get collectibles, but I went out of my way to do it in Sleeping Dogs since there was a tangible benefit to it. Loved the shooting mechanics, especially while driving. Just a blast to play, no complaints about it at all.

They're still using the same design sense they used back during the PS2 years. Everything is just cumbersome.

Plus I mostly meant in terms of looks and shit. The squad screen, for example, might have the same shape and information distribution that FIFA does, but it looks like it came from a PS2 game, down to the colors and fonts and overall looks.
I realize that an UI's main thing is usability, and I hate metro style stuff even with a controller, but PES on top of how crap it looks always has this thing where the cursor is showing and moves clumsily about the options, even with a controller on PC. Not sure if the console versions have the cursor too.

It's kerning. Plus, they probably used Scaleform to do the user interface, which has automatic kerning defined by the font they're using.

I feel bad that I can relate to the Starbucks comments so much. And they were out of Pumpkin Spice ingredients again at my local Starbucks. Seriously, that happens too much. How hard can it be Starbucks?!

The battle system was pretty good for an Open World title, allthough I agree that alot of things are pretty bland or medicore at times.
The biggest plus on Sleeping Dogs ist just the setting with the characters, just feel like a good asian movie without the usual bullshit.
While I love GTA usually and the settings in New York or L.A, it was just finally a difference with Sleeping Dogs.
Too bad GTA4 had horrible characters....
