I thought Valencia was okay vs Southampton. Defensively didn't have much trouble and he got past Bertrand quite a bit. His final ball is constantly shit though.

Rafael hasn't impressed since his return from injury too. Therefore I'm not suprised we're linked with a RB.

Don't think I'd start both Blind and Carrick in midfield. I would drop one in favour of Fellaini.

Both of those things, however we have rarely, if ever, seen that at United.

Yeah I mean thats really not mata's fault though.

As people have said, for various reasons. a) you need to play centrally b) you need runners.

Man U have provided him with none of those things. Which is why I asked the question I did .

Yurt

Haha, thank you as always. It was something along these lines (don't remember the exact model, but you get the gist).. I wanted to just kind of drive alongside this dude forever to soak it up by osmosis.
i cant breathe

that's a Murcielago (the predecessor of the current Aventador)

It looks amazing but it's an awful AWFUL ride, you literally can't see anything behind you, and it has nothing to do with how low it is, you just...can't :lol Italian cars are just good to look at really

Kinda like Italian models

it's quite unfortunate but the Ferrari is a proper PROPER car, cunts

2009 or 2010 Valencia would have abused Bertrand for 90 minutes. This shell of a man that we have just beat him a few times and then the end product was useless. Fellaini and Blind could work well but then I think you have to keep Blind as the more defensive role of the two. With Carrick and Blind the latter can do the more hard working role of starting the attacking and joining in. Plus their passing range is better.

Poor Kagawa was dead from the start. We brought him in to play as an AM behind Rooney and then Ferguson bought RVP. Clusterfuck.

Also Darren Fletcher is out of contract this summer. If Man Utd get him to sign another I will cut Ed Woodward.

It was a mistake to ever bring him back, he was finished the first time he had the illness. He's a fighter and a great servant to the club but bring him back in a non footballing role as appreciation. Another senile Fergie mistake.

He's played wide at Chelsea and was still able to influence games. We have runners in RVP and Falcao, and they make intelligent moves, but we still seem content to just move the ball wide to our wingbacks. Could be a tactical thing hampering him too I guess.

They'll get bullied physically tho.

I just hate that with the attacking talent we have, we struggle to create chances. The only focus seems to be to get it wide a hope a good cross comes in.

Fix it Gaal!

^Kagawa said we play too much on the wings. He knew.

Yeah, it was definitely a decision driven by sentimentality rather than by practicality.

I don't think it was a mistake - it would be a mistake to keep him on now.

Fletcher wanted to come back and the club helped him to try and do that. That he's even got to where he is now is kinda amazing and something he can be really proud of. He deserved that chance and I'm glad the club played their part.

Sadly he's lost more than he can recoup and now it's time to call it a day.

As much as I hate to wade into a United formation debate, all I want to see is Rooney up top, and Mata and Di Maria "wide" in front of a midfield 3 of Blind/Carrick, Herrera and Fellaini.

The Rooney/RVP/Falcao dilemma is the root of all our problems.

Honestly, making Rooney captain wasn't the best decision, simply cos it means Man Utd are kind of obligated to play him, so he oftens ends up playing in a position where someone else would have been better.

we need a manager of the modern age before we can change to a one striker system. I think its quite amazing that we went to it in 2009-2010.

he would of helped us out more by just retiring. Fergie would of had to go and buy another midfielder or promote a youngster. Most of us felt like he'd never recover that top form he was in.

Never needed to be named captain for that.

On your first point, Van Gaal has played 433 for most of his managerial career.

On Fletcher - that's not his responsibility.

Ghost of Fergie, he's influenced two mangers who have played with one striker to change everything and play with two up front, and not just any two, but two men who are old and slow.

you're right it's not Fletchers responsibility but as a manger you have to fear the worst in that situation and anticipate. You cant sit back and hope he recovers and will be able to play the same. In the NFL the Kansas City Chiefs have a great player who just got diagnosed with Cancer. If you are the front office of that team you have to replace him. He's got a long road ahead of him, it could take years for him to recover and if he ever does will he be the same player. Can't take that chance.

When NYCFC asked for my advise re: Lampard I told them to sign a player from USMNT. You know, to win over the fans?!
I should have been clearer with the whole "Sign one people know about."

I will take the list to Van Ghoul! Which way to Manchester?

Change to a 4-2-3-1 with him on the right, or switching wings with ADM/Januzaj. Strootman, Carrick as CMs, your choice of AMF.

What's a good resource for foreigners to purchase Champions League tickets? I'm thinking of flying to Madrid and catching a game. Any links appreciated.

Not to the degree he ever was playing centrally, he was never really a match winner for cheslea out wide. This was realized quickly and played centrally for the majority of his best season to date.

I'm not being funny but although RvP has scored a few goals this season, but his movement is a shade of what it was in his first season for Man U. Falcao I havent seen enough of him to be honest to say.

But it's more to do with playing him centrally. Look at every single other playmaker that gets played out wide, there influence is lessened because you kill what the can see, the options they can take and the angles they can create.
