So Ireland draw again. Not a bad result since England could have spanked us. Anyone watch the match? Hope the Irish fans that were at the match showed respect at the minute silence

While you're in "serious time" please tell us your real opinion on Neymar.

Ok :)

He is 21 year old wonder-kid who has 20 goals in 30 games for Brasil and 100+ goals in 200+ games for Santos. Talented, no matter what anyone says, you can't deny he does crazy shit with the ball that nobody else does, nobody.

There is no other way to explain why Madrid right now would be $100m+ poorer had he picked them, Chelsea wanted him, Bayern too, Pep as well and who knows how many more. These teams surely see something in him worth that price. Barca probably payed less than all of them simply because Neymar wanted them only, so it's much easier to negotiate.

Will he be Messi/Ronaldo-like? No idea, but I definitely think he has the potential to be. And he is the most marketable athlete in the world.

And let's face it, Madrid spent more on a declining 28 year old Brasilian Kaka and made him the 2nd most expensive signing of all time. No way Neymar can be worse than that so I'm already happy with the signing.

Imo we will finally be able to judge him properly too, let's face it, none of us watch Brasilian football and the national team is in the worst state it's ever been in. We'll get to see him with good team mates vs good opponents.

I do also think he would have been way worse for those other teams that bid on him. It's great that he loves Messi and Barca, for years all he has done is praise every single one of them. Hope he learns a lot and improves, we need more insanely good players in football. I just can't wait for him to pound in the goals and hear the excuses, it will be beautiful. Beautiful I tell you.

If he does flop, oh well, we'd still be able to sell him to Monaco/PSG/Zenit/Man City for the same price we got him lol. It's fun to hype him up and see the jealousy though.

CaughtOffside should be shut down and thrown in the internet bin. What a wank website. Any son of a bitch could run a site and make up the most ludicrous and random transfers. Yet this one continues to get hits and references. One of my mates keeps telling me about stories on there and I have to keep telling him to clear his browser history through sheer disgust.

It's really, really bad. I think I finally blocked it from my NewsNow feed -- it just annoys me. The reality of it is though, once 1 site says something, 5 others will all just repeat the same thing regardless of any potential validity. There is no reporting in transfer rumors.

Van der Sar salutes De Gea

Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar has praised David De Gea’s performances throughout the 2012/13 campaign, citing his Spanish successor as an integral player at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper enjoyed a remarkable second season in England, winning his first Barclays Premier League title and earning a place in the PFA Team of the Year. He also finished third – behind Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick – in the fan-voted Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.

And van der Sar, whose own retirement from football preceded De Gea’s arrival in 2011, is delighted to have seen his replacement improve and flourish so much in M16. The Dutchman, who will return to Old Trafford this Sunday 2 June to play in the Red Heart United charity match against Real Madrid, believes De Gea's first-team recall in December was a turning point in his career.

“I think that is the way everybody has seen it,” Edwin exclusively told ManUtd.com. “The first half of the season and the year before, there were some mixed feelings and the gaffer changed it up a little bit to play Anders Lindegaard for three or four games.

“But then David came back in and we stuck with him. From that point, his performances grew and he became more important to the team all of the time. It has been a good turn around for him in terms of his performances and his own self-confidence in being the Manchester United goalkeeper.

“Of course, the PFA recognition was great but the main thing you want is to win the Premier League. Personal accolades are nice but the main thing is winning something with the team. That wasalways my preferred choice.

“As long as your team-mates are happy with you and your manager plays you every week, those are the best accolades you can get. Of course, after you win the league it is nice to look at individual trophies, but the team always comes first.”

With regards to what the future holds for De Gea and United, van der Sar is adamant that domestic dominance must always be prioritised, although he admits he would like to see the Reds return to Europe’s top table following a couple of disappointing campaigns in the UEFA Champions League.

“I think for the whole team the Premier League is always important but the last two years have been disappointing in Europe,” Edwin explained.

“So I think the next step for the whole club, and for David, is to establish themselves among the elite in Europe. In five years, we reached three finals, a semi-final and a quarter-final so it would be nice to reach that level again.”

Edwin van der Sar was speaking exclusively to ManUtd.com ahead of this Sunday's Red Heart United match, for which tickets can be bought here.

I agree that it's good to have him in Europe but even Higuain can bang in goals in La Liga. CL is where we'll judge him.

Have you seen Higuain for Argentina? He becomes Messi/Ronaldo like in stats lol. I don't blame him at Madrid, Ronaldo would probably yell at him if he took a shot.

What do you think :)

He knows nothing, clearly.
I know papers more than most of ye. which is more than enough ;)

Turok is less reliable than Caught Offside. Says a lot.
People actually read Caught Offside? Says even more imo :)

Dortmund wants Prib

That's been rumored for a very long time now, more than a year. Doesn't look likely, though. Looks like he wants to go to Frankfurt and Fürth is just waiting for a slightly higher offer.

Not sure if I really wanted him, though. Sure, could be a good squad player but the last central midfielder we bought as RB backup didn't work out that well. Maybe we should just get some true LB/RB,.

Really nice pass from Song, looks like adaptation period is over. He was great against Espanyol, too last Sunday.
