I am trying to be objective, I swear. But Dan sometimes speaks stuff like he is deliberately trolling all people that have serious expectations out of Forza series. And his commentary in this video is greatest trolling of LeMans race ever in context of delivery.

Sorry for being negative, but I really had to comment on it.

Great graphical upgrade in replays and I so love debris detail. I hope imperfections in headlamps, as seen on the first P1 stationary renders in Prague, will be part of "decay" for cars.

he likes to tell porkies

Considering Turn10's perspective over the years, I think what might be well received, and perhaps within the realm of possibility in the upcoming FM5, would be to have full day/night transitions for just La Sarthe.

Ultimately, it would be best to have day/night transitions for all tracks, but would we be somewhat satisified if a Lemans race in FM5 could reproduce the real-life counterpart in this regard?

Yeah, it thought it was pretty funny to use footage of a 24h race to advertise this game and also mention all this teamwork stuff, when there's not even a pit crew in the game.

how do you know? drove into the pitlane on laguna seca at GC and took a photo. there was a pitcrew. yeah they had all the same faces, but it its not like the pitlane is empty.

Yeah this bothered me the most is like hey realism, hey we offer this amazing experience but then we show you how you are so far, one time of the day kills a lot of the joy for me...

Good to see even though the camera angles shown are similar to F4's they don't appear to be locked to the car, previously the wheels and scenery would bounce around whilst the car would kind of glide past.

yeah, i think they borrowed this from Horizon, that had the same floating cameras as FM4 just not as tightly locked to the car; they would shake and bounce around.
Still...disappointing that they didn't work on camera angles

It is odd they would advertise Le Mans with night racing, without being in the game. It would cool if it was, but really isn't a big deal, almost all racing is done during the day anyway.

I dont think that presenting the current hotrod in these races, that R18, to be in-game, along with t10 partnership to that same audi team, and along with a fresh laser scanned version of Le Mans
qualifies as trolling.
i would say it qualifies for the opposite. like, potential for serious racing.;)

and about "teamwork" (brotkasten)
to be fair, this driver, Tom Christensen, he brings up the "teamwork" card when he explains how the car has always online sensors for data logging, for every single session, and how the team mechanics dont sleep because they are constantly crunching that data, optimizing.
the "teamwork" audi driver mentioned, had nothing to do with pitstops etc, it was more at the r&d level."teamwork and technology progress" was his punch line.
so I think it was actually a good pass to take to t10 parallelism, where they also are a team, and tell how they've expanded, what they look for etc.

yes, I understand how some people want to hear "pitstops", but iirc there will be no pitstop strategy in forza 5, and this was declared a long time ago. (for me definitely in my secondary list of things i want in forza)

there was one dude named Barry something (from t10) that gave some kind of interview at some sim site, if i remember correctly.. should be before E3.

it was back then when he had this discussion here about how
a) blind faith to server data and
b) blind faith on focus groups
can and will be the demise of a good game.

lucky for most of us, or at least for me :) , what we later found out t10 did, with physics and laser scanned tracks etc, it seems right on the money and looks like they haven't lost focus on the ball.
but for this to be a truthfact, i will need to try the full game for a couple of days before conclusion 8)

edit:
found it
it was Barry Feather, and the site was simhq, and was at e3.
http://simhqmotorsports.com/feature-e3-2013-recap-part-ii-forza-motorsport-5/
still an interesting read, and I like the uncle playing in the video and his (+)/(-) points lol 8)
<<physics punishes mistakes! (aids off) (+)>>
;)
here's the exact quote:
Sadly, Barry told us that no pit strategy options available (apparently pit stops are boring for most Forza racers in Microsoft’s focus groups.
We’d opine that they had the wrong people in their focus group).

So, do you get more free stuff when you're Tier 5 ?
I love the cars selection of all the previous Tier, would love something like an old F1 for Tier 5. Nudge nudge wink wink, Helios...

Edit :
This weekend is Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Perfect time for official Yas Marina announcement.

Too perfect for Turn 10 actually.

DAT FORZA.

This one is my fave. Delicious!

R18 vs one of the classic F1 cars in Forza 5 on the Top Gear Test Track, which is quicker?

Hmm, 70's F1 would have a sizable advantage in power-to-weight ratio, but the R18 has better aero and rubber. The TGTT is rather tight, though, and the Audi's aero might not help much in the slow corners, but then again, it does have (temporary) AWD to put the power down coming out of them, so...

It might be close, but I'll give the edge to the F1.

Gonna show us something along those lines tomorrow?

So, do you get more free stuff when you're Tier 5 ?

Usually a free couple of million credits for T5'ers, no unique cars.

Edit: we've seen lit headlights on track before, I'd have thought this time of day setting would have had them on. Wondering if they've been dropped.

Thanks, will be looking forward to hearing the answer!

Still hoping I can get the day one car pack purchasing the game digitally on day one ;)

VIP plans for digital purchasers still haven't been finalised yet, so unfortunately I can't give you a definitive answer at the moment. Will let ForzaGAF know though when I hear something new.

My money is on the Audi.
Inferior in power/weight ratio but i'd imagine more efficient, faster corners, braking.

We need to know see the answer !

No I wasn't teasing anything for tomorrow, sorry to disappoint. Just excited that we're going to get to try out scenarios like this in Forza 5 very soon :)

its ok eso.
something more will happen before end of week
<<jaws>> etc ;)

btw, i just had time to read the forza rewards >>>> forza 5 article, that was posted earlier.

so, i have another Q :D

 • Tier 1: Ford Fiesta, 10,000 Credits
 • Tier 2: Audi RS7, 20,000 Credits
 • Tier 3: Ferrari F12, 40,000 Credits
 • Tier 4: McLaren P1, 80,000 Credits
I'm tier 5
so tier 5 gets all previous tier cars, plus one? or just one?
and which one?

Maple Valley out.

Sidewinder in.

Every cloud.

The meltdowns that it would cause.
I can see the WIR : "To add upon our fantastic real racetrack line-up, we needed a fictional track which embodies the best of what can be done when you're free to create the best track possible without any real world limitations. We're proud to announce the come back in FM5 of a fan favourite : Sidewinder"
