Jube3 said:There's a set of Road & Track contest going on right now some of you guys might like. It's open to these countries.
The contests have some cool prizes like a year subscription to Road & Track and signed prints. For the time trial there are 4 Fanatec 911 Turbo S steering wheels 3 for top 3 times and 1 which will be given to a random time on the leaderboards as well. You don't need the pack to participate, the sample will work (mini coupe concept).
Man I want one of those wheels, I would need furniture though before I get one though haha

G Rom said:You can make a private multiplayer race with AI to make all your wishes come true.
Drawbacks are that you have no rewind, no pause (so no photo mode during race, my main complaint) and it's a pain in the ass to setup even with saved setup as you need to specify the racing class you want to race in, otherwise, the AIs will take R class cars.
A simple "select car, track, number of laps, assists and AI" money earning mode would have been perfect. The current arcade mode is near useless as you don't even earn any money and in Forza 3 you HAVE to earn money any time you go out on track... :/

The Murcielago has been the 'alternative' S5 for a while now.soujiro_seta said:i just started racing online again and i see that a helluva lot of racers are still racing in AWDs...... and what the hell? is the LP640 the new S5? :/
Seanspeed said:I dont blame people for doing it, because they are so blatantly superior than RWD in the game(I do blame Turn 10 for that), but it does ruin the experience for those of us who want some 'proper' RWD motorsports action.

I dare ya.
Heads up: next week we will remove storefront files that are both over a month old AND have zero view/downloads.
DasRaven said:Let's hope never and I say that as a huge Mustang fan. Love them IRL, but not as "yet another" in this game which still has huge gaps to fill in the lineup. Same reason the Corvette GS was met with a resounding "meh" since the Z06 and ZR1 were both available already.
Between the '05 GT and '07/'10 Shelby, we already have enough 5th generation Stangs to last a lifetime. There's no need to add the new V6 (which would be roughly the same as the current '05 GT which is not a good D-class car) or the new 5.0 (which would be roughly the same as the '05 w/ Cammer swap).

But there will be a patch that will allow you to import PGR4 tracks and TDU's island.

Kidding Ohh what a wonderful dream
Big Ass Ramp said:Please don't listen to this man. I want the new Mustangs so badly. Both the V6 and the 5.0. Please please please.
I would also kill for Crown Victorias. Any kind, but obviously the Police Interceptor would be the best choice for a racing game. I would worship T10 for the '06 Crown Vic PI P71.
sionyboy said:Quick question regarding the Nurburgring track pack that was released: Does it integrate itself into the single player mode?
It's actually been a while since I played forza 3 online now as I have nothing to earn from it and well just don't feel motivated to go online with it, but I agree map packs should be built into the offline stuff a lot better then it is currently. It would have been nice if the season mode made random events up so it could use DLC packs, a proper offline quick race mode where we pick AI cars and laps, plus earn money just like a private bot lobby on live!eso76 said:apparently not, and that's incredibly dumb, considering the career mode is supposed to dynamically change locations and events depending on the stuff you installed from the second dvd.
Which makes buying new tracks rather pointless since, just like what happened with forza 2 dlc, they can only be used online or in stupid free race mode, which suffers from dumb rubberband ai, no adjustable lenght or realism.
Seriously, T10, you need to patch this stuff for people playing offline too. I need a proper free race mode where i can pick 7 cars to race against (even pick them from my garage) and adjust AI, lenght, damage etc. Career gets boring after a while, why should i go back racing with a yaris to compete in an event which will reward me a grand 2000 credits, after unlocking R1 class ?
saladine1 said:Another way to solve this integration problem is to release all tracks on day one dammit!
Can you explain why DLC tracks aren't incorporated in to the career mode?chespace said:In other words, don't make any DLC tracks at all.
There is a myth that developers hold back big chunks of content so they can make money on DLC later. As far as I know, this just isn't true.
xMk2x said:Can you explain why DLC tracks aren't incorporated in to the career mode?
xMk2x said:Can you explain in a little more detail? If you don't know, can you ask someone who does or should know? I'm not a programmer but it baffles me (and others, if this thread is anything to go by) how what is essentially DLC from disc 2 is incorporated but DLC from XBLM is not. It just doesn't seem to make any kind of sense from a layman's perspective.
Is it something that is possible to fix? If not, why not? How is the disc 2 scenario any different to traditional DLC that it's impossible to fix?
it seems all the racing game have the same problem. I don't think any of the current crop of racing game allow intergration of DLC track. (Race Pro is the only one I know that have DLC track)
It would because it seems like a cop-out response.antiquegamer said:Would it makes any difference if you know the technical reason why?
G Rom said:While you're at it, ask the men in charge of the web/photo mode :
1)Why haven't we seen an upgrade in compression ?
2)Is there any plan to update the photo mode at all ?
Even better, will there be new updates or are you done with that and will only support the DLC ?
And now, let us... let us pray that Che returns with informations !:lol
Edit :
NFS Shift comes packed with new events even for cars-only DLC ! Track DLC came packed with events too !
Midnight Club added a whole area with dozens of new event !
PGR4 had new event coming with the only DLC the game had which added new track layout !
I think that GRID got new career event with Bathurst too but I'm not sure about that one.

1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500
I'd gladly pay 400 points for each of them.
Also, that V12 Vanquish further up the page is gorgeous. Is that Top Gear / DBR livery on the marketplace?
Thanks man!G Rom said:Yes I bought it from the storefront. I'll post the name of the guy when I fire up the console.
G Rom said:Yep, I totally agree Daiblohead. I deeply think that Forza 3 was rushed to be out before that-other-game which was still rumored to be out for christmas then...
It's a shame because, I also think that with another six months, the game could have been much higher on the scale of awesomeness.
In six months here are the things that I would have concentrated my efforts on :
- Making all the dashboard works (it's a shame that even level gifted cars don't have working dashboards)
- Adding active aero (it's the kind of detail which adds a lot IMO)
- (Shipping with) better driver animations for all cars
- Put higher LOD in replay or at least for close-up shots
- Make a better photo mode (best viral marketing for a racing game !)
- Make better LOD in-game (some cars are so ugly...)
- Improve colors and lighting
- Greatly improve shaders (reduce that specular lighting and and take it off the lights dammit !)
- Replace ugly textures with actual shading on the greatly modeled lights.
-Better braking lights colors (almost all the photos taken with braking lights on end up ugly because the light just become plain red-rosish)
- Add mat, chrome, etc... paints (the Peugeot 908 isn't shinny at all dammit !)
- Add a true arcade mode
- Add a true online mode
Most of these things could have probably be done in 6 months as most of them are fixes for things that are already in the game.
Turn 10 should just release a big update fixing issues and adding some small things. They could even re-release the game in store too. Here's the packshot of this new version :
Well, now I'll go take some photos and search the name of the guy who did the V12 Vantage livery !:lol
chespace said:Not that I don't agree that better IQ on the photomode output would be valuable for viral/community marketing, but we're not going to do additional work on photomode.
BTW Skyfinch, you can do a custom quick race by setting up a multiplayer race and filling the lobby with 7 other AI cars.
chespace said:Not an intentional design decision but more of a tech limitation AFAIK.
G Rom said:Shit, I mixed up the time and thought that I still had time left to enter the R&T competition. I thought that 12 pm actually meant midnight. Well, at least I've learned today that 12 pm means midday...
Suggestion to the community team : Put at least a GMT conversion for reference when you put a time. Heck, just use a 24h clock, it's so much simpler !:lol
