So true.
I have many friends who behave like they are playing need for speed and forget that taking a turn at 100+mph in most cars will not be a good idea.
They also always complain about the back wheels spinning too much when they put the pedal to the medal in a 700HP car.
I loathe those that refuse to listen when i tell them that driving a high horsepower car isnt as easy as The Stig makes it out to be.

Before the weekend confirmed podcast was canceled, he was saying some strange things about driving games. And now with his complaints about the performance cars you can see what the issue is.
He was explaining to Jeff Cannata about performance driving, that you should always be hard on the accelerator. Which is not how you are supposed to drive with a high HP car, because you will just spin out.
Later Jeff asked how to stop using the racing line and he went into some crazy tangent about slight signals the developers give you to anticipate when to break. Instead of telling him to use the track markers that are all over the place to help you memorize the track and it's breaking points.
Also the hyperbole about the microtransactions being right in your face constantly.

I also feel you should put your Gamertag out there if you're going to comment on how the game handles. There are so many assist that can be used if you want me to take your opinion seriously, I should be able to check your lap times and your assist levels. Because you might just suck.

Try to set your box to "Instant On", then power it of. Power it on again after some 10-15 minutes and go to your "Games&Apps" and and normally you should see it started downloading the updated.
A tipp: Always let it download and fully install first. Don't use the early "Ready to play" option while installing.

so here's my tip: if you (like me) have the kinect physically disconnected, try the "instant on" thingy with the kinect connected.
the minute I plugged the kinect in, the OS notified me that there is an update.
Now, I dont know if it was a coincidence, but I think its worth trying once.

Is there an up to date list of cars that haven't made it across from F4 to F5 yet?
There's a few I miss like the Zonda R, F50 GT and F355 Challenge, I just can't think of many more.

I tried the monthly rivalry, the '76 formula ferrari vs mclaren on long beach and set a 1:21.4 to get things started
Did you have any traffic on your lap, lol. Following you ghost and it seems you can hit most of the apex's.

The engine detail on the Jag in the booster pack is awesome. The track like others have said looks great!

Long Beach is a great addition, did a dozen laps in a Mini to get used to it but jumping up to S class it became something different entirely.
Oh yeah, that booster pack, is it only free for car pass owners?

Sure, assists off, it can be flung about. At that, it responds to that abuse in a measured, predictable way as can be seen in the video.
I grabbed the car and to tune it to max 500 for campaign racing put everything into larger, stickier tires to max the grip.
What I got, though, was a car that pushed hard with annoying understeer but immediately broke loose in the back on throttle. It also refused to brake with anything approaching the stopping power it seemingly should have. In fact, it seems that the AI cars can always out brake as evidenced by how frequently one can come into a corner, apply hard brakes at the right spot yet still plow into the back of a car ahead who has miraculously been able to brake so much harder that they are going so slow that hitting them results in a violent collision.
The real 458, with ABS and trac on, which really does not detract massively from the thrust if you keep it smooth, was able to cut in to a turn under unbelieveable loads and power on at the nip of the apex without ever threatening to break loose. It was a significant difference.
Just my .02. I figure there are a lot of fans of the game here in the official thread. No disrespect intended. For my money, GT6 simply offers a more entertaining approximation of the driving feel (agreeing that neither deliver 1:1 simulation).

Both parts were cool, the choice of questions and answers were predictable but understandable...the "never say never" to appearing on another platform was a little surprising.
Good stuff there though. As a sim racer he'd have done better imo to ask about some of the smaller things too like will multiscreen return, private lobbies and maybe some more options to customise races.

Yeah, both vids were interesting. My loins twitched when the Fanatec question was put directly to Dan but he swerved around it like it a true pro.
The Turn 10 studios look like a nice, messy, fun place to work with a mish-mash of office supply-sale furniture and duct-taped cables draped everywhere. Organised chaos.

When I go to select the Long beach track its 96% installing and seems to be stuck.
You have to completely reinstall the game. Sucks but the update wasn't correctly applied and there is no way to delete updates separately on the Xbox One so you have to delete the whole game.
Fudge. Will I lose my game saves?
I love the free track and extra car pack but damn was really hoping for night or weather with this announcement 😈
nope all is backed up to cloud GT so even of it gets removed from hdd, when you reinstall the game it will still have your saves

by the way... the saved games on hdd are to the right of each game's install info... "saved data" . you do not need to delete that to reinstall the game but if you do it gives you an option to remove from console or everywhere (includes cloud saves).
so long as that is untouched it will remain or as noted still be available via cloud, linked to your GT so long as you do not delete saved data "everywhere"..

Spoke to Darin and he did ask about multiscreen, it's not good news but he bought up the need for fov adjustment regardless. Good man. Hope they take it on board.
Shares the same view on 900° feedback too. I'm really interested to see if the guys can make the changes. It would improve wheel use no end.
