Perfect.

Carlson declared that Marvel was portraying average Americans as “snake-handling bigots and they need to be held in place or else they’ll turn this country into Nazi Germany. It’s like, the people who run this country, a lot of them actually believe that. I live near them. They really think that.”

Because it's true.

When did they cyberize Redwing?

Sam says that Redwing has some kind of Sonic scream-but the last we saw of Redwing before Secret Wars, he was bitten by Baron Blood and his eyes turned red, like a vampire. I'm assuming they dropped that after Secret Wars.

A vampire attack bird would be jawsome.

Did they drop him being able to control all birds?

Sam can still control all birds-in the previous run with Rick Remender, HYDRA was going to "crop dust" this area with this agent that would sterilize the populace-Sam used his powers to basically summon every bird he could and they intercepted the toxins on the way down to the ground.

Here's Redwing's run in with Brother Blood- (he got better):

Today is a weird day for Falcon

http://www.bet.com/news/celebrities/2015/10/19/anthony-mackie-endorses-donald-trump-he-worked-his-way-up-from-nothing.html?sf14295429=1

Anthony Mackie said:
"I would 100 percent want to run Trump's campaign. 100 percent," he said. "I mean, first that'll be the best party ever when he won, and second, Trump's an easy sell... When you look at Trump, he's an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing. And I think if you're a 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' candidate, people would identify with that."

I REALLY can't wait for the Black Panther movie.

I really can't. I want to see the meltdown.

Bring it.

The anti-hype will start when the first trailer comes out and Fox and Friends' producers will react by saying THERE'S A SUPERHERO NAMED AFTER A TERRORIST GROUP MARVEL HATES AMERICA CONFIRMED. Without realizing that the character is decades old.

It will be awesome.

Can't wait until their review of the Ultimates "3 Negros, a lesbian Latina, an alien god, and their groupie saving the universe and the world on the regular"
I said goddamn
Remember when The Human Torch killed Hitler?
Remember the Invaders? You know, I'm not much of a fan of WW2 Marvel, but I'd read aa new Invaders book.
The comic was actually really good...Sam Wilson makes for a better Cap than Steve....he's also smashing Misty Knight so he's cool in my book (Fuck Iron Fist)
One of these things I agree with....the other is incorrect.
Thor cured cancer before

Jane's refusing the cure, though.
LOL thanks, Fox..
I caight that, too. Made me laugh.
She already kinda is
That costume is literally the only thing keeping from reading that book.
I had to stop for a good bit I was laughing so hard at that.

What a good first issue.
Good nothign grind my gears more then writers forgetting or ignoring powers
There's also this:
And for a bonus bit from the same book:

That costume is literally the only thing keeping from reading that book.

it's not too bad, tbh. how much that shield covers of her lower half changes from issue to issue, that pic is when it covers the least of her. plus she drops the costume halfway through to become a red lantern, and then after she isn't a red lantern anymore they find an excuse for her to wear armor that covers more of her.

Damn SJW PC Liberals are always so sensitive.
Once again, the cognitive dissonance in play is staggering.

At some point, the current Republican party will have to splinter even further and split entirely. It really does seem like two diametrically opposed ideologies crammed into one label.

I really didn't like what I read as it lacked some kind of distance, but it's an interesting proof that there's no liberal editorial mandate at Marvel. I always assume that regardless of their marketing stunts, Marvel doesn't give a fuck about politics, it's just in the business of selling what successful writers make. It just so happens that a large number of these writers have liberal ideas, and it shows in their books.

It's very much the same at DC. When Bill Willingham was writing Robin just before Infinite Crisis there was a bunch of really pro-Army Superhuman secret government soldiers who showed up and were talked up big time. After Willingham stopped writing Robin they were never seen or heard from again. He also attempted (poorly) to retcon the Bats aversion to killing as a legal convenience thing as opposed to a moral choice (that I'm surprised made it past editorial because it's super out of character)

I mean the companies probably do effectively lean somewhat more Liberal than Conservative because there staff tend to be majority Liberal but they certainly don't nix Conservative viewpoints or writers.

In fairness to Spidey, that's everyone's memory of Cyke.
Not MY Cyclops...

Ok now I'm really intrigued.

Damn it! I already have a bunch of books to read!

Anthony Mackie is being ironic, right? That whole line about Trump coming from nothing...

Did anyone watch the video? I'm at work but I don't know how anyone could say that and not be joking...

...but the fact that it's on Fox News makes me think he was serious and is just a moron.

So conservatives identify wkth racists and white supremacists more than they do with a black superhero focused on human rights and improving America. Not surprised.

Mackie says dumb shit, news at eleven.

Real talk though: thinking back about that first issue, I realized how tacitly complacent it would have been to have a black Captain America somehow ignore the elephant in the room in the current climate.

I mean, a guy enforcing the status quo by staying silent on social issues would have been weird in retrospect. These are the exact steps Spencer describes and the fallout seems entirely believable. Half the country hating the black guy for taking a stand? Calling him Captain Socialism? Probably thinking he's too aggressive and wishing he would shut up to not make them uncomfortable? Yeah, that shit sadly writes itself.

If anything, I didn't like the religious/MLK angle Remender was going for in the first volume of All New Cap. It sounded like the usual narrative we white people love to hear when talking about minorities: with enough time and good will, and by not being too aggressive, everyone will finally come to the collective realization that society at large should be more tolerant of its minorities, and inequalities will magically disappear. While we're sleeping soundly at night, great allies that we are, knowing how tolerant we are.

ITT, I learned Anthony Mackie is an idiot.

Yeah... I like him as The Falcon, but I was raising my eyebrow even back then when he was saying he fully supported the NSA spying on people. "If you have nothing to hide, why be afraid of them looking?"
