Please don't, people shouldn't get banned completely from the game, 35 bucks to the toilet, for working or trying to work with Jason.
This is ridiculous.

I saw so many let's plays and this can lead to a few funny situations, if Jason says kill this guy and I let you live, of course most of them would do that and maybe Jason is fair and let him live after that, maybe not, things like that happen in horror movies, same as betraying for staying alive. You shouldn't get banned for this, never. Specially not when all you need is playing Jason and ask other people to kill someone to get him banned. This could be massively exploided.
working with Jason was fun for a while, then it got out of hand, working with jason completely ruins the game

i've met a person who was working with jason, he repaired the car and let 3 of us get in with him, only to take us to Jason, i've met a lot of people walking beside jason and show him our location, i've met many people when they keep attacking me until my health goes down and i can't sprint and call for Jason to kill me, i've met people taking the part like battery, gas...Etc, never use them so we don't escape and Jason kill us

i know, if you are working with Jason it's a lot of fun, i tried that, but if you're not working with Jason and someone else is, it's frustrating, this has to stop, not a permanent ban at first, maybe 1 day the first time, then a week, then a permanent ban

I thought it got patched?

No mercy for those that help him. It completely ruins the game. One time me and a few dudes were spectating and Jason could not find the last counselor in a tent and looked everywhere. Eventually he stood still for a minute and instantly teleported to every campsite and found the person because some salty fucker messaged him. Completely ruins the game and is a huge reason why I stopped playing weeks ago.

You know what? Yes, they should. They're completely ruining the experience for everyone else.

Don't want your 35 bucks flushed down the toilet? Then don't be a dick.

you sure he didnt realize he hadnt checked those campsites and was just waiting for his map teleport to come back up to check them? I've had people hide from me that way and I'd sit and wait for the ability to come back if there wasnt a way for them to get out readily available.

I don't think you would get banned for that. I don't think Jason coercing people, or people backstabbing their friends to get away, is something they will ban you for. I think they ban you for for working with your friend, who is playing Jason, to spot every councilor on the map, farm experience, or otherwise fuck the game up for every other person playing.

Are you sure? The -1000xp hit for team killing would make staying alive and escaping pretty much pointless for the counselor.

how long till we ban people for not using mics?

I kinda debated the point about working with Jason earlier in the thread, but this (to me) is again something that should be left alone.

If they're trying to stick with "This is a Friday the 13th movie" and that's why you shouldn't work with Jason, then they can't possibly take away the "I'm a loner/fuck you guys" character, aka, No Mic Guy.

I grabbed this on PC this morning because I kept hearing the PC version is a bit better than PS4 for finding games. Is there anything I should know before going in? Besides "Use a mic, asshole!"?

Nope, the thing that gave it away was he was checking yellow tents specifically but he didn't know which one. Fuck those that play the game that way. Ban them all.

Hide in tents for the entire game.

Jk. Stealth is your friend and remember to drop parts by the objectives if you're being chased by Jason or don't want to repair yourself.

they absolutely should get banned. Flush 35 down the toilet? How about people like us who paid 35 for a shit game that's shit as a result of selfish cheating fucks.

It's a shit game because the developers left their players with a game in an unacceptable state, especially on particular platforms. And had the nerve to charge us 40 bucks. I hate to use the words "broken promise" but that's exactly what it looks like being left in the dark.

The players being asshole is just icing on top of the shit cake tho lol.

There are some pretty good tip videos on youtube. I recommend checking those out.

My brief advice is to try to get ahold of a walkie-talkie and a map ASAP. As soon as the match starts you should be running to the nearest cabin and searching for anything you can pick up. Try to talk to others as soon as somebody is near you or as soon as you get a walkie and try to coordinate. Who's got gas for the boat/car? Who has the battery? Who has the phone box fuse for calling in the cops? Does anyone see Jason? But remember if Jason is near you, he can hear you talking.

Pay attention to the music. It changes when he is near. However, he also has an ability called "Stalk" which turns this off so he can surprise you.

Jason can only get into buildings through doors. Use windows and lock every door you find.

Different counselors have different strengths. I prefer somebody with high repair so I very quickly gas up vehicles or install things. If you goof up, Jason gets an audio hint. Having somebody who only has to hit two keys to fill a tank instead of 12 keys makes it way more likely that you'll quietly complete these crucial tasks.

Good luck! The game is amazing. Should you decide to double-dip, hit me up on PSN: Unoillnino

I'm more talking in a vacuum, because if I'm playing with friends I can enjoy ti and take it fwiw but I see why it gets a ton of hate.

From that point of view, there is nothing worse than the glitchers/griefers and from all different angles. It sucks for the person as jason when you have somebody exploiting something like the roof sitting, but it also sucks for the spectators because you have to just sit there for 20 minutes or leave.

Hit me up with a friend request on PSN and I'll accept. I don't think I'll be on to play again until sometime this weekend though. I have two groups that I'll play with though, so if we get together I'll likely have a good group of people to roll with.

just a heads up guys we generally play in big groups and mics here are a few of us on psn

whiteshirtkyd, mushroom021, qu3n. Shoot us a friend request. We'll likely be on tomorrow all night into the early hours as well.

Quick story.

Was playing with a few folks last night and we got into a room where it was clear in the lobby that one older guy knew two of the other players. And one of them sounded VERY young (we'll call him Trevor). There are a lot of younger players in this game (or any online game, tbh) and generally I don't think much about it except to watch my own language.

We get into the game, and I got killed earlyish and start spectating. The older guy was helping Trevor, telling him which weapons to pick up and how to climb through windows and use weapons and such - standard stuff. Then Jason shows up. The little kid shrieks into the mic. They go to escape out a window. This guy gets grabbed by Jason right after directing Trevor to pick up a machete that had been dropped. He tells Trevor again to "pick it up quick! Get Jason!" When the kid (who is tremble-shrieking into the mic) can't do it fast enough, Jason begins the kill animation. The dude says "Trevor, you sold me out. I'm dying because of you. You killed me." At this point Trevor is audibly crying into the mic. (He did get away and survived a couple minutes longer.)

I was horrified by this dude's actions. I ask the guy how he knows this kid, and it turns out he's his uncle. He doesn't know how old the kid is - he says "uh, he just turned 10 I think?" though the kid sounded definitely younger than that. What the hell is wrong with people.

Especially since it's against the ToS. I have zero sympathy for those that pull that kind of shit outside of private matches and get banned.

??? Yeas they should get banned. Do you know how many times I've had objectives completed with groups or by myself only to have someone LEGITIMATELY give my position away to Jason while the player is near me OR has aided in trying to kill me with melee weapons? Get fucking banned. All of them. Same with glitchers. Both types know their behavior is wrong but they keep doing it. The Steam forums are full of people trying to lie about what they've done only to be shown video proof of what lame teammates they were. I have no sympathy.

None of that is funny to me, if you want to do that type of shit, play privately.

This is all funny to me, and something my uncle would have done to me. What do you think was wrong?

As an aside, my uncle also got me unafraid of Jason in real life (when I was young and impressionable), because he wanted me to go outside with him at night by his house to hunt crickets together. I told him Jason was going to kill us if we were outside too long, he said "This is what I'll do to Jason", and kicked a dead tree trunk over.

I was no longer afraid of Jason, and I thought my uncle was a super hero.

It isn't too out of the ordinary to not remember a relatives age either. Lol. I almost forgot my nephews birthday. Almost.

I see my niece a few times a year, and I constantly forget her age when people ask me what it is. The answer is currently "4 or 5, I think?".

She's at that high pitched young smart-ass age, haha.

It was the "you killed me," the age of the kid, and the terrified sobbing coming out of the mic that took it over the edge to wrong. I can totally understand making a thing not terrifying in the example you mention - but this didn't feel like that scenario.

Jesus. Bought, but haven't started yet. Wasn't planning on using a mic... I'm not typically a multiplayer guy, but this looked fun. My play time / setup is not mic-friendly. Am I going to get shit on for trying to play this now?

This mentality is what has steered me away from online play to begin with. Ugh. Oh well.

It really does hurt the game quite a bit for everyone else. You can just use the mic to occasionally ask questions, coordinate, or inform people of where stuff is. You can talk softly too. I don't see how there could be a setup where that wouldn't be feasible. You aren't a problem if you don't want to shoot the shit, and you only occasionally chime in.

Had a game earlier where a bunch of players started ganging up on this one player. They all thought he was helping out Jason and despite his protests, they ended up killing him. Their shenanigans did buy me enough time to repair the boat and escape though.

At least on PS4, the majority of the games I encounter in quick play are more or less silent. It's not required and I doubt you'll be called out in particular for not using a mic, but a mic would definitely be helpful overall for strategizing.

I would rather play in silence than have a mic'ed up 10 year old lead Jason right to me again. Playing in silence isn't so bad... if you keep an eye on the objectives, cooperation cam occur.

More games should offer ways of communication without a mic.

A simple set of callouts like Rocket League's could do wonders here.

Why not just mute him instead of punishing and handicapping the rest of your team?

Well, in regards to him leading Jason to you due to the noise he's making, don't mute him and just run away whenever you hear him coming xD

Holy shit the F13 subreddit is the saltiest place on earth right now.

I don't post on there but check it out on occasion, especially lately as I have no PS4 access till a week from now and am suffering mild F13 withdrawals.

Almost everything I read on there today is a super salty, passive aggressive and very emotional response to how the devs banned some moron for calling a 12 year old a faggot, along with other unacceptable behaviour including sexual harassment.

Supposedly some girls who were playing the game were team killing/helping Jason and claimed to know the devs, the main issue seems to be that they weren't banned while the grown man (afaik) who was sexually harassing them and calling a child a faggot was.

I remember reading that the devs had banned maybe half a dozen or less people for helping Jason, out of the 100s of reports they received that lead to lots of bannings, so the fact the people who may have known the devs avoided being banned really isn't as scandalous as the reddit fuckheads (or fuckheddits if you prefer) are making it out to be.

I've managed to win plenty of matches on PS4 without a mic. All lobbies I've been in have at least one person without a mic and they never get shit on. Just play and enjoy. Try to go for the objectives and you'll be fine.

I didn't say I played without a mic! just said I'd rather play in silence than with a noisy 10-YO.

That being said, it's still very possible to play and enjoy this game without a mic....

And yeah, sometimes you just need to go silent - that's life; not everyone has a home/situation that's ideally set up for video games with a mic.

Honestly that subreddit has devolved into shitty memes and imgur files along with passive aggressive shitposting. I've resorted to joining several FB groups when the usual people I play with aren't on.

This, however, sounds awesome.

This is just anecdotal, but its also the game shown on the XB1 store (from console) when you go to top downloaded and top purchased.

So, even with the issues on XB1, it did well it seems.
