Producer of the Year – Metro Boomin - I put this one before any other award or album/song ranking because he ran 2015 and it seems like he's only getting better.
0rsrKj.gif

The Weeknd & Future - Low Life
Yo Gotti & Kevin Gates - Ion Feel Em
Young Thug - Hercules
Future - I Serve The Base
Drake & Future - Diamonds Dancin

Artist of the Year – Future
Rookie of the Year – Bryson Tiller
Biggest Disappointment – TDE as a whole. Kendrick and Jay Rock’s albums were trash. No new Isaiah tape/album yet. At least Ab-Soul had the decency to not saddle the world with more of his crap in 2015.
Intro of the Year – Drake - Legend

Top 10 Songs (I tried to be a little more diplomatic with this cause otherwise it’d be all Future, Thug and Drake songs)
1. Drake – Know Yourself
2. Future – Trap Niggas

5. Kodak Black – SKRT
6. Drake & Future – Diamonds Dancin

No one here probably cares, but Lupe released the titles of his three 2016 projects:

"Drogas", "Skulls", and "Roy".

http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/lupe-fiasco-reveals-titles-for-all-3-albums-planned-for-2016-news.19348.html

Skulls is interesting since it was an already rumored project that was blocked by Atlantic Records, which let to the unholy LASERS releasing.

Oh, and The Cool 2 is slated for Winter 2017. Not sure how I feel about sequels to his previous things, considering how ultimately forgettable Food & Liquor 2 turned out to be.

I don't get the Metro thing. I've listened to more trap this year than ever before, I like multiple songs on DS2...but Metro doesn't stand out to me. The bests sound like most other trap beats to me. Same 808s, same drums, etc. Some different sounds thrown in here or there but nothing that makes me stand up.

For reference I thought Young Chop had many tracks that were simply better than other trap shit at the time. I don't feel that with Metro or any other trap producer today.

Metro also exec produced DS2 and WATTBA so he was involved in other aspects like the sequencing. I also think his sampling game is better than the rest of them.

That's it. Dissapointing year. Wake me up when people get bored of this trap garbage.

more than anything it's just a feeling. some people get geeked off Zaytoven beats. i don't that often cause it's the same shit 99% of the time. i prefer Metro darker, spacier sounds but he got a lot of other tricks up his sleeve too. he also handles sequencing and the vocal effects which most trap producers dont.

Chop stuff was bang average. it just sounded different than what was out. once everybody started incorporating his sounds nobody checked for him anymore.

Today's the 12th month of the year, 12 divided by 2 is 6, Today is the 26th.
OVO Sound Radio is today and it starts at SIX.

That's probably the last piece of speculation you'll hear about Views From The 6 this year.

Tory Lanez Gangsta Grillz mixtape sounds pretty good even though a lot of the songs can sound rehashed and it's not difficult to hear where the inspiration came from

Anyone here enjoyed Cherry Bomb?

Took the time to listen to all of it and I find it fun. It's so chaotic at times lmao. I laughed when the title track hit. Pilot is dope though.

If cudis album didn't happen this year cherry bomb might be my least favorite thing I listened to. The mixing is atrocious

It has to be on purpose. I understand that some people might not enjoy it because of its muddy and dirty sound, but it gets so out of control at times and that makes it fun. I wouldn't listen to this with headphones, though.

Yeah I think he said it was on purpose but regardless of intent it just sounds really bad to me

This is how conspiracies start. Like Tupac getting shot on the 7th, died in 7 days, and was pronounced dead at 4:03pm... 4+3=7 bullsh#t.

It might really line up like that, but no one is plotting this shit like that.

It's a very bad album. It's a shame because you can hear hints of good production by Tyler, but it's marred by a shitton of other awful ideas.

I wish he would take rapping as serious as he does production. He's really improved over the years but I'm tired of hearing rape jokes in 2015.

I disagree with the notion that he's improved as a rapper, go back and listen to the wordplay on say Yonkers and then compare that to any recent track and it sounds like he regressed if anything.
