When I was almost at the 10 minute mark I thought "man their fight scene with the demons must be really short :(", but then the second part of the episode started and OMG so good.
 
Holy shit, that was amazing. If this keeps up, P&S will far and away be the show of the season for me. I'm pleasantly surprised an overarching plot has shown up.
 
Well, hot damn, this episode came out swinging. As fun as the first half was, everyone knew shit would only get that much more real sooner rather than later. What I didn't expect was Strippers May Cry everywhere. Holy shit, that segment with Panty & Scanty running and sliding down the halls by itself was whoa. :lol

I also find it interesting that the demons are so organized and strategic whereas the angels are absolutely anarchic and manic. Finally, Brief is the ultimate chew toy, moreso than Chuck after thinking about it. :lol
 
So i sat down today and watched everything up to episode 6. And what a ride it has been and my god episode 6 was amazing loved all the action. Totally Hooked.

This. I was hoping that the other sisters would be their rivals, and that they would get their own transformation sequence. Episode was awesome, can't wait to see them again.
 
Les Diaboliques is precisely what I was expecting of this show when it was first announced.

Does anyone know the name of the song that was played during their transformation?

This episode was VERY well composed. I expected the worst from a full length episode of Pansto but somehow it really worked. Using half the episode for pure build up and the second half for insane action was very effective because they managed to create a very convincing and credible opposition.

Also, I think making this episode effectively not a gag was also pretty smart of Imaishii. Instead of making it a full length gag episode, they played the story completely straight - introduction of a real enemy threat, the heroes must overcome the boss-class villains, etc. Instead of gags were all in the form of the visuals and the elements which made up the story itself, and as such it did not fizzle itself out.

The explosion in the end was a great piece of animation too. :D

This was the Imaishii episode? No wonder the quality went up a notch.

DO NOT WANT. English dub would probably be terrible and horribly censored. If it were to ever happen at all.

It wouldn't be censored if it doesn't appear on TV. Of course I still say it should be on Adult Swim and they'd probably be able to get away with everything but f-bombs.

Oh snap, the plot has finally arrived! Villains with actual plans, new rivals and a mysterious threat appearing all at once. Not to mention the best fight scenes in the show so far.
 
I caught up a few weeks ago but damn. Latest ep really hit it out of the park and as expected. Taku fucking hits nails the music so good. Absolutely loved the demon sisters transformation theme.

The show is already censored in Japan. Everything sex related they say is bleeped out. The crunchyroll subbers just know what they are saying and put it in the subs. A good english dub would be possible if the right company picked it up. English VAs are far more comfortable with doing comedy as that is the mainstay of American cartoons.
 
What can i say. That episode was everything i wanted from the series when it was first announced. It was just pure over-the-top insanity with well-directed action. They even re-used the transformation sequence! :lol
 
Just watched episode 5. Holy shit that was amazing. The second half is totally out there when compared to the rest of the series but damn, absolutely fantastic.
 
Alright. I gave the first episode a try. Not sure if I'm convinced just yet. Animation is top notch (Gainax, duh). The concept....ehhh...not sure if want. On to Ep. 2.


Oh yeah, and the theme. Dumbest shit ever. :lol
 
I'm liking what I've seen of the series so far. Wish the soundtrack was coming out sooner, but I guess I'll just have to be patient. =/

Notes: Ep13's title is a play on the Japanese title of Kubrick's The Killing, I translated it to match the English title instead of doing a literal one. Ep16 is a play on the title of Yasuo Baba's 1989 movie, there is no English title for the original which I can find. Ep22 has no title on the Newtype listing yet.
 
So that's how they are going get to the 26-episode count with the 1-episode episodes. They have 4 episodes in one.:lol
 
Is Anno still doing an episode, or was that a rumor?

I think I may need to change my crappy FFXIVatar into a panty stocking one because this show is awesome. I caught up today , I'd watched 1 and 2 and just spent an hour or so watching 3-6.

There's a reason many anime geeks consider Gainax the #1 in japan, shows like this.
