I may have interpreted it wrong but just seemed like a clumsy attempt at dark humour rather than celebrating?

Don't get the boycott stuff whether its for HP or this. Also don't get the people that jump on tweets calling to for people to be fired, get a fucking life.

Good videogames to play are a dime a dozen. Made from developers all around the world. No one is going to have to drop their life long hobby skipping any of these games made by people stupid enough to jeopardize their employment and product, running their mouth on social media.

I was actually thinking of giving GOY a chance since I like GOT very much. But I finally decided, I will not buy GOY after there staff made a diabolical and way down comment on Charlie Kirk assasination. My goodness, cowardness and craziness must not be justified. Sony need to take action.

Not defending her statements but.......

Shes Senior texture and lookdev artist........worked at R&H, Imaginary Forces and ILM prior in lead positions.....if anything shes over qualified to be in the videogame industry.
If she was in a junior role or was just part of the team I could see her possibly NOT being that qualified.......getting up to senior with her prior experience, you know she knows her stuff.

I reckon you'd have to boycott somewhere north of 75% of games above the Indy level of budget. In that space, I would very much disagree that good games are a dime a dozen.

Dude this is a slightly different situation to the usual boycotts over something silly like Hogwarts boycott because of the writer of the books etc.

This is literally people publicly mocking and celebrating someone being murdered.

Get some perspective.

They are advocating this stuff because they want more of this to occur, not less. And they want it to occur where they live, which is the west. Political violence is escalating and they are fanning the flames, they want more of it.

So you don't care because Kirk was an anti immigration advocate and against your self interest. Just say that, save us all time. A little naive to think the escalation won't cut both ways.

I was always on the fence with Ghost of Yotei, so this just further nudges me away from purchasing the game (in fact, it's the final nodge. I've lost interest now). I'm not interested in supporting an environment where someone can feel comfortable disrespecting the death of an influential young figure who built his brand by engaging with people who disagreed with him on a large variety of topics. Not many folks are comfortable enough with their positions to really put themselves out there for that kind of scrutiny, and it's clear what he did was very effective in winning over some minds from younger people. Charlie Kirk had his opinions on tough divisive topics, including that of identity crisis with regards to gender dysphoria and sexual orientation, but the guy was a decent human being all things considered, and was just starting his family life with his wife and two very young kids.

The circumstances surrounding his death is not a simple case of irony. He was not shot by a hand pistol. This was a carefully planned assassination by a killer that knew what they were doing and had a clear mission and target. They were there to kill Charlie Kirk and run. He was taken out by a very powerful long range weapon, likely fired from a rooftop 200 yards away from where he was sitting. No shots were fired into the very large crowd that was present at his event. Worst, this very dangerous killer is still out on the run. There is A LOT of unanswered questions here as to the motive, purpose, and intent of this incident.

The human condition cannot help itself though. The blame games have already begun. There is no denying though that a lot of thin skinned monkeys wanted nothing more than to shut Charlie up to give them their brief dopamine hit for their purposeless lives, as they refuse to take on the message, so chose to celebrate taking out the messenger instead. Everyone fancies themselves a hero. And what is a hero without a villain? The real enemy out there is toying with all these fools engaged with these political games, with real lives on the line.

P.S Senior/Leads are very rarely the people who get laid off when the layoffs happen.......the people struggling to enter the industry who literally keep their mouths shut cuz they dont want to rock the boat are the people usually let go.
Celebrating them leaving the industry is not the answer cuz they might be the people with the next big idea we have all been waiting for....let the old guard go.....bring in new talent.

I loved Ghosts, one of my favourite PS games but nah I just can't be bothered with supporting trash humans anymore and won't be buying anymore Sucker Punch games.

Stop putting words in my mouth. I do care that he was murdered, and I fear this will only escalate with violence and inflame online rhetoric. The political instability in the USA due to killings and tribalism on both sides is getting out of control and it is leading to greater infighting and instability in the west.

That is completely separate from changing my purchasing habits because of what some loons say on social media. If I was going to apply such logic equally then I would just about need to give up most gaming and technology purchases.

Openly celebrating is distasteful I agree, but in regards to Kirk, it's a case of "say stupid things, win stupid prizes" for me.
