Goddamn, that acting by Peter Dinklage almost had me shaking. He is the fucking man! I can't be mad at Shae, I'm thinking she was blackmailed just like Pod.

Also I'm betting Tyrion would probably rather die than take the black. Though like he said his situation with Sansa was like taking the black too, but at least he had good food, good wine, and good living under that condition. Tyrion experienced the situation at the wall, thieves, and filth, he was happy to leave.

That deal Jamie was proposing was being calculated, Shae tipped it over the cliff probably.

As far as I remember, last time Tyrion ask for trial by combat he could fight for himself or choose a champion to fight for him. He first asked for Jaimie, but they didn't let him because the trial had to be that day, that's why Tyrion ask for a volunteer.

Maybe this time will be similar. I don't think Tyrion would risk Jaimie's life after he was the only person to be on his side. Bronn would fight for Tyrion, I think, as Tyrion told him that he would match any offer to kill him. But, after looking at Oberyn so interested in Tyrion, I think he will be the one who fights for that sexy Imp, and ask Tywin to choose The Mountain as he promised.

Told you guys about how horrible Shae was.

There's a chance she was threatened, but she only came off has angry and spiteful. Given how over the top sensitive she's been to small perceived slights, I don't think it's a stretch that she'd want Tyrion's head after the way he shat on her and broke her heart. Westeros no doubt has its own sayings about a woman's scorn.

Tyrion gonna call in a dragon for his champion.

Was this episode the first time they've mentioned that Mormont was working as a spy originally?

I think Tywin will pick Bronn to fight for the crown, knowing full well that Tyrion would pick him as his champion and Bronn cares about living more than dying for Tyrion. Then, Jamie will volunteer himself to fight for Tyrion. Jamie will fight "dirty" in the fight to win.

You need to understand, Shae was really hurt.

Shae couldn't have believed everything Tyrion said to her was true.

There's the off chance that they caught her, threatening to kill her and Tyrion unless she confessed and lied. At this point for all we know Bronn could be in on it as well since he "escorted" her out of the city. (He better not be though)

For killing the masters or letting the son bury his father?

Letting the son bury his father.

I'm sad Yara gave up on Theon so easily. She should have charged at him sword drawn. Or had a secret archer take the shirtless bastard out.

Not sure I like where it's going with the whole undercover bad guy pretending to be his good old self. But it'll sure be interesting to watch.

Oh, and hell yes Tyrion. Amazing.

Thinking about it, would Tywin let Jamie fight for Tyrion? If they lose he's screwed haha.

Think that would be the point of them doing it that way.

My guess is Tyrion asks for Bronn but he is gone or betrays him. ( I swear if Bronn betrays him I will be very angry and probably write about it here. )

And then has Jamie fight for him knowing that he has been training a bit.

Great episode and amazing acting by Dinklage as usual. I feel like my suspicions of Tywin dying soon were confirmed this episode though after that Braavos scene and as much as that would suck, it needs to happen for the story to progress which is why I said it was going to happen in the first place along with the foreshadowing in earlier episodes.

Are judges allowed fighting? Oberyn had a pretty good look on his face when Tyrion said that and if they throw up a Lannister, I'm sure he'd oblige since it'd be considered honorable. Maybe Bronn but I didn't see him around. I don't see Jaime doing it no matter what since he doesn't have enough confidence in himself to protect his brother in a duel. He wouldn't want it relying on him and his left hand. I think Jaime's close to snapping though and I can't wait.

Still can't get over those last few minutes. Oh, and DRAGONS.

Peter Dinklage. Amazing, loved it. Didn't read the books, so I don't know. But Tyrion is finally acting like a Lannister hopefully we can see his ruthless aggression as episodes continue on.

Letting the son bury his father.

Well I can't really say I think it was a bad thing for her to let a son give his father a proper burial. He's dead now, he can't really hurt anyone else. :p

I know I wouldn't like to see that happen to my mother or father, no matter what they might have done. Of course they deserve some form of punishment though.

Very obvious that Tyrion will pick Jaime, hes like the only person in the world who doesn't consider him a dwarf but thinks of him as family.

As for Cersei, I think she will pick the flower Knight so that she can get rid of him.

Woah. If this happens I would have to agree the Martin is as good at planning out long sequence of events like Tolkien.

Damn that would be crazy.

As for Jaime I don't think Tyrion will pick him. I think as a major fuck you to his family he will be ready to fight for himself; but Jaime will intervene.

The one thing I'm curious about now is Prince Oberyn. In the previews
before the season started he was clearly fighting in an enclosed space. I hope that wasn't a spoiler for him actually participating in this "Circle of Equals".

The last scene serving wig incineration and social commentary !!!

But I feel like this season would be better viewed all at once rather than on a weekly basis. Just constant build up for every arc. I need something to burst real soon.

It has to be a volunteer from both sides right? Tywin couldn't order Jamie to fight Bronn or something to that nature, correct? That would be crazy!

Why did Shae refer to herself as a "whore"? Did I miss something?
Tyrion called her that in order to make her leave King's Landing, and disavowed any relationship they had. The only way she would leave was if Tyrion broke off everything with her. But she doesn't get the fact that he had to do it for her own protection.

There's no way Jamie would lose if he fought right? That would mean we would lose both he and Tyrion.

GRR wouldn't be that mean would..... Oh shit.

Seriously. That last 10 minutes.

Do people really think Shae betrayed Tyrion out of spite? Her life was obviously threatened. She might have also been told that Tyrion would be granted mercy if she cooperated.

So how does trial by combat work exactly? Wouldn't this allow for the best fighters to get away with their crimes by calling upon this?

Yes. In medieval times, only the nobility were trained in sword fighting, jousting, and other forms of combat. If a peasant accused a knight or a lord of a crime, they could easily get out of it via trial by combat because the peasant would have no fighting skills.

I think the title of the next episode (please put it in spoiler brackets) is who the champions chosen will be.

*oh wait, that's the episode after next nvm

I am questioning how no one is asking the obvious; the events that lead to Joffrey's death during the festivities. How are they overlooking the fact that Tyrion's grand plan was to poison Joffrey by somehow magically becoming Joffrey's cup bearer by annoying him, and then leaving the scene only to be called back by Joffrey to have his cup filled with poison, and then, standing there like an idiot. Perfect plan.

PREVIEW SPOILERS relating to my above post:
After seeing the previews, I definitely think Oberyn is going to fight since the previews show The Mountain again. Who's the one guy Oberyn wanted to kill the most? The Mountain. Who happens to be a favorite of the Lannisters? The Mountain.

Damn I love this show. Every introduction and scene is meant to lead up to something bigger.
