Those were Stannis' own men that were dragging him out of King's landing once they realized the battle was lost. He has a small island fortress, Dragonstone, but very little of it has been shown in the show. I don't think he has much of an army at all. Stannis has to buy one whenever he goes on the attack, in addition to whatever allies he can scrounge up.I've seen all the seasons before but am currently re-watching them all. I didn't think of it before, but in season 2, when Stannis attacks King's Landing and is defeated, in the next scene he's back at his usual hangout. Is that ever explained? It looked like he got captured by the Lannisters yet nothing happened. I also don't even get how large the place he hangs around in is or how he even upholds his army.

Also I can't get an image of Winterfell's full size. First in season 1 I thought it was huge, seeing how it's like the capital of the north, but the more seasons pass the smaller it seems. It got captured by 20 men? The biggest shot I remember off it is when it's all in fire and the two young Stark boys are escaping it, when it randomly appears to be bigger again.
Just a few thoughts popping up, figured I should bump this one month old thread instead of the years old thread for the older seasons

Stannis own men dragged him from the battlefield before the enemy could capture him. And they returned to Dragonstone.
Winterfell is pretty big but almost everyone left with Robb to the south. The people who remained opened the door for Theon because they trusted him.
I'm reading the books and Winterfel seems huge in the way it's described, way smaller than in the show imo.
I'll send you a PM answering the Winterfell question with book insight, without spoiling anything. That makes sense, but still Stannis was kind of surrounded by Lannisters. Surprised he could slip away so easily after all, but I suppose it's possible. They should definitely have added a few scenes there imo.
There have been no big shots of Winterfell. Maybe it's explained in the book but they never mention how large the area is or its' population. I don't know, looks like it can house a few hundred people? So tiny.
I know but did I really spoil anything, I think my comment is safe enough. I won't discuss the further though, just the bit about Winterfel.
All men must serve.I still haven't figured out what does "Valar Dohaeris" mean. Heard it a couple of times during S04 as a answer to "Valar Morghuliis".
Did I miss something or simply we can't know it yet?
All men must serve.

Time to rewatch S04, then!

Wouldn't it be in late March or early April like the previous seasons, or are they going to premiere this one a little later? I dunno if I missed any announcements about this.
Just binge watched this entire series. Wow. I ordered the books and I'm reading them now. Didn't expect to love this so much.
Yea I started like two before season 4 started. I was like alright enough everyone keeps talking about this fucking show I'll see how it goes ended up binge watching season 1-3 right before 4 premiered.
Cersei and Prince Oberyn are dating in real life? O_O
Only three months till season 4 comes out on Blu-Ray.
Do any of you own these Inside GoT books? I am trying to come up with gift ideas for myself because my family tells me I'm impossible to by for.

Not surprising given how they were damn near fingering each other in every pic the two took together last season.

It's one of my favorite shows I've ever watched for sure. The Red Wedding was the most brutal and disturbing thing I've ever seen on a TV show. I mean good God. Catelyn's yell of desperation is haunting.
The pictures are a big part of the appeal so yeah, don't bother with the kindle versions.
The pages of the fake scripts are in the book, so it's pretty cool. But very mean.
Damn it!!! What the hell is wrong with you!?One other thing that stood out - the show runners are kind of bastards. They gave Kit Harrington a fake script where, when Jon Snow saves Jeor Mormont from the zombie, he gets his hair and the top of his face burned off and ends up missing his top lip. They thought it was funny to make a "good looking guy" think he would spend the rest of series wearing disfiguring makeup.
They also gave Theon's actor a fake script where Bran, Osha and Rirckon stab him to death. The pages of the fake scripts are in the book, so it's pretty cool. But very mean.

The title of the thread says no book spoilers.
He's talking about the behind the scenes of the show books posted on the last page, not the novels.I'd like to keep the books unspoilt, thanks.
