Either try signing into the store again or search Xbox.com for Gears 4 and it should say that you own it.

You have to go to the store page of the game. It doesn't show up anywhere else on PC, not even a confirmation you got it.
Then search for Gears of Wwar 4 and it should say: you own this product and you're gonna have an install option.
Don't go to Gears of War 4 Pre Order though because that just says you own the game and if you go to the Gears of War 4 entry after that it says: it's only part of a bundle until you restart the store and go to the entry again.
Amazing work Microsoft.

I tried talking to Newegg, told them it's unfortunate and all that I had only bought my card last month, and that others had gotten a code despite having bought their card before promotion. Honestly I think Newegg just hates me; a few weeks ago I ordered something with rush processing and next-day shipping and they waited a whole day before taking the package to fedex and then tried to blame fedex. I had to show tracking info and transcripts of a chat with a fedex rep before they finally agreed to give me a $10 giftcard to make up for $30 of late shipping. Assholes

At least you know you HAVE the licence though. But not sure how to solve your other issue though. It should let you sign in.
Some are from real video card orders and some are from people placing orders and canceling them it seems though some people are saying that the issue was fixed and you can't do that anymore to get the codes.
so we will see if these codes start to dry up I guess.

Apparently from some Amazon glitch bought using a credit card generator. Just got mine for $7 from reddit.
I'm curious if anyone knows if it'd be possible for me to LAN with one code, since it's a 'Play Anywhere' title? (I.e. Have it running on my PC and Xbox One simultaneously)
I'd imagine that I can't be signed into the same Microsoft Account simultaneously, but I'm wondering if I'd be able boot the XOne version in offline mode/another account and connect to the PC version via LAN.

It supposedly works like this with Recore:
PC user buys it, plays on their account.
Xbox needs two user accounts, the PC user that bought it and whoever you're playing it with (Guest).
Play the game on Xbox under Guest's account.
I think there may be shenanigans involved like setting the console as the home console for the accounts but not sure exactly. But it should be doable, if not through LAN then through regular online.

LMAO yikes. I just tested it too, ordered a 1070 and immediately canceled it. A code arrived by email instantly. I wonder how many codes have been sent out now.
I feel dumb that I gave a guy on Reddit $14 for absolutely no reason, I could have just done the same thing he did and gotten a code for free. :I

True, but at the same time, as these things happen and they look at the numbers and IPs of these orders, ur less liable for the scamming. Being duped by a scam in some cases is better than being the scammers and getting caught.

I ordered a 1070 from Scan on the 11th, it was delivered on the 13th, gave away the Paragon code on GAF that same night, and was pissed off the other day when I heard about Gears of War. I sent a message to Scan last night asking them if they had any available codes, was not expecting anything other than "sorry, no", but I just received an email ten minutes ago from their customer service, telling me they will be sending me one within the next hour.
So yeah, try it.

They confirmed Horde and campaign crossplay with Xbone users. Just can't play Competitive multiplayer cross platform unfortunately.

How does this pre-load work (on PC)? I clicked on 'Install' on the windows store page of the game, and within 2 minutes it said 'Gears of war has been installed. Check it out.' Obviously my 20mbps connection could never download 80GB in 2 minutes. My free HDD size is also same. Whats going on? There is no internet activity either. When I click on 'Play', it says 'You are too early.', which is fair enough. But whats going on? How is it going to download going to happen?

This "glitch" I hope doesn't come back to burn some genuine people. As no doubt a large portion will have got the codes genuinely through builds, but the super cheap sellers probably did this glitch.
Heres hoping amazon just covers the bill for a rookie mistake in sending the codes instantly.

If more people get wind of it, no doubt it will gather mainstream attention, leading to Amazon doing something about it under pressure no doubt, and your Gears 4 key possibly getting revoked as you dont know if it was got this way or a legit way when you bought it.
