Gears of War: Reloaded coming to Steam, Xbox and PS5

Haven't played this game since it came out a long time ago on PC.
Might be worth replaying it with this remaster. Though I fear the gameplay might be rather dated.

Looking at the screenshots, it seems a big upgrade over the original.
I wonder if it's using UE5 or UE4. Since it's the Coalition making this port, it will probably run silky smooth.

Probably the least exciting Xbox game to come to PC or PS for myself. Tried but Gears never clicked for me

I wonder what's up with that rumored halo 1 remake. The version that is in MCC is fine but a real remake would be sick.

2 down, 1 to go.

Xbox's hold on console gaming has never been so precarious.

MC collection and the party's over.

C'est la vie.

Is this the marching orders™ coping phase of these "influencers?"

Just weird meta-commentary around game releases. It's like some off ESPN sports panel :pie_roffles:
Amazing what losing your ass in sales and your ship is sinking will do to a companies way of thinking and force the zealots to fall in line or lose a portion of their meal ticket

I don't understand how you can make this kind of conclusion based on what Spencer said back then, it was very obvious that it was going to happen, and the guy is like « it's never gonna happen »

It's funny because they literally used the exact same playbook they did for bringing their games to PC and this guy still didn't realize it was happening.

I'm slightly disappointed it's just the first game and not some sort of HD trilogy.
But this is still cool!

The color grading and bloom make a big difference, which I think is especially true in motion. Some segments, like the cave in Act 3, also look pretty lifeless in Ultimate and don't have the exaggerated lighting of the original.

I realize that those effects aren't to everyone's taste, but I think it's a fundamental part of the game's look, for better or for worse.

Samething that happened to Shadow of the Colosuss. But the changes HAVE to be made! The extra bloom was a mistake and something from a yesterday era (2004-2012).

Up until this price increase, Xbox was probably selling 50% of what Sony was selling in the US monthly.

300K units vs 150K units for example.

A good percentage of that 150K is casual gamers (varying degrees of casual).

Anytime you have the potential to increase your sales by 50%, it's kind of a big deal. Especially over time. Absorbing the remaining market share of Microsoft probably pushes the PS5 to 130 million units lifetime, compared to say 120 million.

100% agree! This is the goal. If Sony doesn't increase the price on the PS5 in America this year......then we'll know it was the goal.

If it's a Remaster of Gears 1? Great!

Remaster of Ultimate Edition? Ehhh.

it's a port of the Ultimate Edition lol... I wouldn't even call this a remaster tbh. the Next Gen update of Doom Eternal added more graphical changes than this seems to add.
