Still no Starfield tho.

But I guess Redfall will be the only Xbox Bethesda exclusive

Day one.
Bough a X360 for this game and lost count of how many hours I played it's MP and SP.
Shame my X360 got the RRoD - got a PS3 after that and never got another X after - so I never played the other ones, but it seems I will on PS5!

Interesting wording no?

Nahh there are still more Xbox consoles coming

Not sure why but its happening
Your probably right and we would "know why" .... MS has no idea what they are doing that's "the why" lol.

?

Releasing games on other platforms actually allows them to continue making Xbox devices because the software market isn't limited to whatever hardware they can sale.

The thing that will happen is they will not sale this hardware below manufacturing cost.

It cost money to make the consoles though, why invest money into creating something that will mostly not sell well at all.

They still need a base spec to make games to & they also need the hardware for Cloud Gaming.

I mean i get evrryones grip about it being one game but they gotta see if the interest is high enough to release the rest. Me personally im pre-ordering it asap love gears just need crackdown now

it's a port of the Ultimate Edition lol... I wouldn't even call this a remaster tbh. the Next Gen update of Doom Eternal added more graphical changes than this seems to add.
Yeah, which is why I don't get why they say the "iconic original, faithfully remastered". Looks like they just took the Ultimate Edition, slapped 4K on it (which we had on PC years ago), and called it a day!

Stop grumbling, Walks. Your PS5 Pro must have been getting dusty so you'll still be buying this remastered remaster.

I guess you no longer have to shill for Xbox since everyone else is getting to play its games! Must be a relief! :P

In any case, I don't have to buy this as I'll get it for free on multiple platforms (neither of which is a PlayStation).

No. I'll still be in my local game store every weekend trying to persuade naive parents to purchase a Series S.

Gears was the only franchise I was somewhat interested being only in the PS/ Nintendo ecosystem. This price is shit though.

Should have been all 3 of the original trilogy for $70 or hell even $80. This is too much. Maybe further down the line there will be a bundle but tough to justify this

when i bought a 360 back in 2006 i couldn't dream of seeing an add like this on the internet. I would have thought it was just sony fanboys trolling in Photoshop but lol its a reality

uh, well, in 2006 this could have still happened afaik, as Microsoft didn't own Gears of War until 2014.
Gears of War was not a first party franchise, it was a "second party" series that Microsoft financed but it was owned in full by Epic Games. similar to how Nintendo is financing Bayonetta these days, but Sega still owns the ip

so, depending on how the publishing rights were negotiated, a PS3 port of Gears of War could have happened. I assume after the second game Microsoft put it under lockdown however, given that they knew they had a new system seller on their hands

Up until this price increase, Xbox was probably selling 50% of what Sony was selling in the US monthly.

300K units vs 150K units for example.

A good percentage of that 150K is casual gamers (varying degrees of casual).

Anytime you have the potential to increase your sales by 50%, it's kind of a big deal. Especially over time. Absorbing the remaining market share of Microsoft probably pushes the PS5 to 130 million units lifetime, compared to say 120 million.
lol yea right

Xbox was probably selling 10-20% of PlayStation and has been since the PS5 was widely available.

Lol. They are Microsoft studios now.

Not Xbox.
Microsoft probably regrets that rebranding from Microsoft Game Studios to Xbox Game Studios ...
I dont understand why they still go with that "xbox" branding when this isnt about the Console anymore.

When i hear Xbox, i think about the console..not an eco system, PC or whatever MS calls Xbox nowadays..

It seems like this only exists to port Gears to PS5, but to make it seem like Xbox and PC are getting something out of it too, when they really aren't.

And they're following the Metroid Prime example. Why port all 3 together, when you can sell them all seperately?

It's not really new. It's just you uses to have to purchase the PC and the Xbox sticker separately.

Well technically their PC store is not new, not at all.

But they usually refer to that as "windows PC", not "Xbox PC".

Think that pretty much tells us what the branding for their next hardware will be.

They are- owners of the digital edition of Gears Ultimate are getting a free upgrade.

It's an easy port for MS, unlike having to remaster the other Gears titles. It's also a low cost way for them gauge the demand for the franchise on PS5.

On that note, MCC would be a much more challenging port. It took years to get it up to par on the Xbox One and the PC port is still far from perfect. So the Halo CE remaster rumour makes much more sense for PS5 than attempting to port the patched up MCC to a system that doesn't use Direct X.
