I just watched a solo boss fights video of Zhongli. Every one of them just melts that stupid pillar a second after he puts it down. The same pillar that does garbage damage, and only randomly gives you energy, but for some reason it also can't take any real amount of damage. And NONE of those points were addressed by the developer. Well, it was a nice to have nearly all positive publicity for this game while it lasted.
The pillars are fragile because the cooldown is LITERALLY two seconds. At Constellation 1 you can place two in quick succession.
Also, in my experience with boss fights today, the only one that managed to break my pillars was Childe. And I still kicked his lvl90 ass without using a single heal lol. His Jade Shield is no joke, along with the crystallize shields that his pillar generates.
No offense, but I think a lot of people are overreacting and basing their opinions on others' faulty complaints... but that's par for the course for gacha games, I guess. The other gacha game I play (FFBE War of the Visions) is currently embroiled in a bit of controversy as well regarding fixed pulls, but the evidence for it simply isn't there. However, the conspiracy theorists are out of the woodwork trying to drum up negativity and many people are carrying on the message. But in that game's case, I honestly think it's simply a ploy just to get apology currency lol.
I wouldn't be surprised if something similar is going on with Genshin's community though, with some people feeling like "I used all my primogems for Zhongli only to be told that he's not worth leveling, I want Mihoyo to apologize and give me back my gems!".
But I digress.. I'm not here to defend gacha developers. Just trying to bring some rationality into the conversation instead of overreacting about a character not being DPS. /shrug
