Im hyped. But its dormant.
This game is too far out for me to get a boner just yet.

That being said- i got what i wanted. This game to be announced- though its not Jin. Didnt even cross my mind that his character wouldnt be involved.

Again, how is it that this doesn't apply to a sequel to what many feel is an "impeccable" game in Ghost of Tsushima?

Was it? he's being chased by the Shogun, he isnt going to fight them, they are still his people they just didnt like the way he dishonourably dispatched the Mongols but in that time he did what he had to do. So what is a sequel going to be? pure stealth trying to avoid all Shogun contact? I dont think that would make a very exciting game.

The second game was always going to be a different Ghost, Jin's story is done, we already knew this. Now whether they could have done a story based around another character from Tsushima for the second Mongol invasion, then, maybe? but people would still whinge its not Jin. Think of the Ghost as just telling stories of unknown (fantasy) hero's of Japan, it's not really that much different to Assassins Creed in that respect which is perfectly fine as far as I am concerned as it means we do get to visit different places, different time periods, different enemies, it keeps the game fresh. (and how could this possibly tread the same narrative as Tsushima? different protag, different time period, different part of Japan, different enemy as I previously said)

There is nothing stopping them from jumping around time periods so they could go back to Tsushima at some point (probably not though, not a lot to say there)
Yes, it was.

The director indicated that the true ending, aligned with Jin's repudiation of the samurai code and his embracing of the Ghost identity, was to spare Shimura's life. Had that narrative thread been followed, you would have Jin at odds with the Shogun yet the people of Tsushima feeling sworn to him, on a defensible island, with his uncle in a position torn between love for his adopted son vs. expectations of and loyalty to the Shogun. I am honestly hard pressed to think of a more narratively potent scenario rife with dramatic potential than that. An interfamilial drama within a potential brooding civil war between the samurai, Shogun, and a Ronin with his followers, which Jin now effectively qualifies as.

There are a ton of directions the story could evolve to given such a layout, and be far more interesting than beginning all over again in the establishment of characterization. To not capitalize on what has been built is simply a waste and a very poor judgement call, IMO. And the title Ghost isn't interchangeable, as it's directly tied to Jin's journey of rebellion he undertook by feelings of necessity to fight the Mongols at the expense of betraying the code he was raised with.

Would've loved to see Jin again. But I did find that all of the Infamous sequels were a bit awkward in the way they danced around what was supposed to be canon. So maybe it was for the best.

Below 0. Even GoT was just okay, like a 7/10. This is more of the same with strongwoman. Pass, at least for a while anyway. Will get it when its like 10-20 bucks.
To me both GoT and Days gone feel like the same game with different skins, but the hook of days gone is way better to me. GoT looks awesome, but its kind of a shallow game.

What made Days Gone and GoT more enjoyable were the characters. But yes, both have some really generic open world designs with nice visuals that elevate the atmosphere. Yutei looks the same as GoT. 10 years ago people would laugh at this and ask Sony why theyre charging 80 euros for an expansion because thats exactly what this looks like.

I mean since I don't play ubisoft crap and therefore no more assassins creed, ghost of tsushima was a welcome game that could fill the gap that AC 1 and AC2 filled for me back then.
I'm not really looking forward to the new title, but I would be happy if it turns out to be good and I can relax and play it at some point.

But I'm also finding it hard to get hyped now, I'm too often disappointed.

So I can't take part in the poll because no option is applicable.
