Tried yesterday on Xbox review code: reaaaally nice gfx, and really cool audio! It's got a much more "warzone" feeling, with many allied soldiers aiding us, explosions all around... I didn't like too much how the other squad members act: the most of the time they're quite unuseful, or I have got to say them "stay here" to avoid they get caught by enemy fire. Maybe I still have to get used to using them. CG movies suck, nothing to do with the RS3 and Pandora Tomorrow movies. However, the first impression is sure good, I hope I'll have time top play it more between a Halo 2 game and the other :D

Oh, and i forgot: over the shoulder view sucks ;-)

IGN review in da hizzouse.

8.0 Presentation
Interesting set-up for the story. The missions are straight-forward and the game seems more streamlined, which isn't a bad thing in this case.

8.5 Graphics
Normal mapping, specular highlighting -- the works. Great explosions, interesting use of muted colors in the city areas. Some slowdown hurts a bit, but still a great-looking game.

9.0 Sound
Good use of directional sound. What sets this apart from other war games is total cacophony of noises that can sometimes be overwhelming, but also feel like a true war zone.

8.5 Gameplay
A good tactical shooter with a few minor problems. Intuitive control, but not enough command options in the end. A lot of trial and error and though enemy AI is improved, it's still not perfect.

9.0 Lasting Appeal
A long campaign and much better online interface and game modes than previous Ghost Recons. The ability to play Lone Wolf through every mission is a major bonus.

8.8 OVERALL:
(out of 10 / not an average)

Pretty, pretty game. Gorgeous environments... can't see a single player before I get shot in the back of the head or blown up by a bazooka blast but the environment really is gorgeous.

You get a great look at the swaying grass after you collapse to the ground... if you die in the right spot.

I was thinking about getting this. Better than all the previous ones on the Xbox? I only have Island Thunder. The online play was horrible with spawn camping I remember.

OXBM said you can set it up to have between 5-30 seconds of invincibility when you re-spawn to detract those spawn killers.

This one is at the top of my X-mas list.

I've been playing almost all co-op so far, so I'm not sure about the advesarial complaints yet. Hope to rectify that really soon. Glad you like it Kabuki, I kept bringing up that you were playing it while we were in Halo, saying you were on the real shooter of the year :)

Game is beautiful. Maps are pretty frickin' incredible and large. Love the weapons and new viewpoint as well. It reminds me of SOCOM with a better scope mode, so I was used to it. A lot of people were playing in first person only though.

Teamwork is so important in this one, I've got to get in a clan or something. Maybe if enough people get it here?

If it has Tom Clancy in the title, it's destined to go in shit pile.
please stop being an idiot. ubisoft has really impressed with their tom clancy titles. they're easily some of the best games on live, despite the release frequency.

can't wait for splinter cell 3. omg spy vs. merc round 2. and co-op!

Team Adversarial in this game rocks. There cant be any spawn camping cause well you only get one life. It gets really Intense. I just wish more GA ppl would play this cause so far *Gasp* i prefer the online modes in GR2 over Halo2. The best part is you can have 4ppl go online from 1 xbox and have i thinks its 16 ppl CO-OP. :O

We need to get the old R63 crew to take a stab at this game.

I love this game, but have a few pals who don't like it. To each his own, but I recommend you check it out. It has pulled me away from Halo 2. The online multiplayer and co-op in thisgame is awesome. Some may think that a 16 player co-op is overkill, and I say play the map 'Battle' on hard and get back to me. ;)

Another great one from Ubisoft/Red Storm Entertainment. I've heard complaints as well about the A.I. of your teamates in single player, but to me it's how you use them. The 'Lone wolf' missions iwth the prototype weapons alone make the game worth checking out. Currently this is the second most played game in my collection.

If I couldn't get into Rainbow Six 3 and Ghost Recon, would I still like this game? Has enough been changed in the sequel to make it different from the original?

Lyte i didnt like GR either but i really like this one.....if your not into tom clancy games tho i dont think you will like it.

best way to find out is to rent it.

I'll watch for you on it Kabuki.

16 player co-op is tremendous. You feel like a large military force storming across the map. I'm going to try some advesarial tonight.

Just so happily surprised at what happened with this game.

Anyone unlock any vehicles? What does that do? I've noticed I can use my unlocked weapons in online play.

IMO its a total departure gameplay wise. The general setting and feel of Tom Clancy type missions and plot structure is still there but the gameplay got a royal facelift. I hated Ghost Recon to DEATH, but GR2 is aces. I only rented it, but I will probably be buying it once I get some money.

I have the game ordered through my GameFly account (which by the way is cool as all getout - as the mail lost a game I returned and they absorbed the cost! WOW!). Anyhow, I am really looking forward to it! Hope it's as good as you say.

got the game, not quite as good as i was hoping, but not bad. also, some framerate issues are pretty evident, but can be played through. hope to get some more time in it tomorrow.

Argh, I thought I was done with videogames for the year, but after seeing Fujisawa (Indigo) and Kabuki online playing this game on my dashboard... must...... resist......

co-op is wonderful. sharpshooter not so much. but there are all sorts of squad-based modes i'd like to try.

don't buy it for the single-player, though.

I've read that you can 16 players online coop?? WTF?

Yes, you can -- assuming the host's connection is good enough to handle it. At any rate, it's a total blast.

Anyone who's on my Friends list from this site will tell you how much I've been playing this game online. I am helplessly hooked on Ghost Recon 2. So much so, that I'm seriously contemplating taking Halo 2 back, which I didn't think was even fathomable just a couple short weeks ago. But the truth of the matter is that Halo 2 has gotten almost zero playing time from me since the arrival of GR2. And I know many folks who I usually play with have already done taken their copy of Halo 2 back not because of anything bad in that game, but because of how good GR2 is. But I resisted doing this myself. It's tough to resist much longer, though when I can use the credit I get returning Halo 2 for another game I want in the near future.

I would like to play with you guys who have GR2, but I can't join in a clan from here because I'm already in another clan.
