Hahaha! No! He could only possibly mean Vegas.

Yes
Yes
Seems the same as the beta. AR's are beastly.
Yes, though not all of them.

Its the kind of sacrifice you would expect a dev to make to hit 60fps, but it isn't. I don't even think its a solid 30.

Ugh. I have it bought and unopened. Buddy wants to play tonight, but I'm still not sure. The biggest one on that list that bugs me is the server issues from the beta are still here. Why was there a beta then? I don't want to have to have lock ups, and be forced to dashboard non stop to get into a game that is laggy as balls, then not get to respawn so I have to dashboard again.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Anyone play Siege mode and want to compare to old school Ghost? I played no respawns in the original Ghost as was as the 1st Advanced Warfighter via attack and defend mode a TON. Like sucked my life away a lot.

Main thing is I hate this series in terms of online with any sort of respawn option on. It's just not what I gravitate to this series for. That being said if nobody is playing no respawn games then I'll wait for the bargain bin (which I might do anyways as this game seems to have bargain bin all over it for better or for worse).

Siege rounds go pretty quickly, not much strategy was shown in the matches I played so far, might be that people don't really know how to play yet and/or the maps may be too small

Awful cutscenes and dialogue, dreadful "escort the VIP" sections, clumsy/awkward civilian NPCs, shoddy visuals. My opinion is that it wouldn't be worth full price for the single player alone.

The game isn't terrible, but it's nothing like what I expected. It's also rediculously easy, even on the hardest difficulty.

I pretty much agree with this. Although the biggest reason I say not to throw down 60 bucks on it, is the SP is waaay, way to easy, even on the Elite difficulty. Now, I could see someone who hasn't been into the series in the past, getting into it, just because its so accessible, but dang, its basically sit back and watch your team take everybody out through the whole mark and execute thing.

The problem with synch shots is the same problem with mark-and-execute in Splinter Cell Conviction - its not so much a tool that you can use to get through a scenario, its that the scenarios are designed completely around its use. Scenarios aren't open ended for you to solve in your own way as much as they are mini-puzzles, perfectly built to have you use your synch-shots or else designed in such a way that synch-shots won't work.

It feels better in co-op only because you have to communicate more to pull off the same end result, and there are more chances for fucking up and thus more risk.

just an update, several people on the official forums say the GR Network code for the Five-SeveN pistol is working along with the other 2 now.

I updated to OP, check under the GR NETWORK section for a list of the 3 codes

I'm new to the series, and except for a generic campaign, I LOVE everything about this. I don't know how you can see it differently. Those who give this lower than an 8 because of anything besides graphics (which is understandable because of the fluid gameplay), I feel sorry for you. Video games must feel like a chore to you.

Right, and that is the exact problem I have with it, I feel like you can use it in just about every scenario, granted there are a few exceptions where you can just use your other gadgets to easily navigate through the level
(like going through the entire snow level with the warhound wrecking house.
I'm 6 missions in, so I don't know if that will change later on.

What issues are you having? Feel free to report them, because we've done a lot to iron out bugs since the months-old beta build. http://twitter.com/redstorm or http://ubisoft-live-team.polldaddy.com/s/ghost-recon-future-soldier-bug-report-form

Take Majik's response with a grain of salt. Rifles have been changed since the beta, the grenade's blast radius has been reduced (there have been complaints about it being a "stun grenade" on the official forums), and we're not seeing any widespread server issues.

Well what the shit at Majik's response lol. I have an unopened copy at home I was debating on cracking open tonight or not. As long as I'm not constantly going to be dashboarding due to server issues tonight, then I'll feel the game was worth the 60 investment.

I've played probably 20-25 matches and only run into 2 issues in MP

#1) I got stuck in the leaderboard menu after a Conflict game it just never took us back to the lobby for the next game, you could hear everyone talking and getting frustrated and eventually dashboarded after waiting about 5 minutes

#2) There have been 3 or 4 matches where enemies seem invulnerable. 2 of these 4 had some noticeable lag when they started off, but I'd empty full clips into guys (who seemingly didn't even notice I was shooting at them), reload, empty another full clip, switch to the pistol and empty the clip and guys would not go down. Not sure if this is lag or people found out how to exploit the game or what.

Surprised by this game. Much better than I was expecting. And it looks great to me. Faces are the weak spot. Framerate is solid on 360.

But I do hate the giant text in the sky. Please give us the option to turn that kind of stuff off.

In fact, online seems to be working neigh flawlessly from what I've seen. Not much time to put into MP yet with my internship, but I have friends who have been playing with absolutely no issue (xbox version)

Multiplayer is pretty cool so far. Still some occassional stuttering [on PS3] and some things they still haven't fixed or improved upon, but my biggest complaint right now is that the voice chat doesn't always seem to work properly.

In some games I can hear my friends, in others I can't. And sometimes just one friend, but not all. Very annoying and currently kinda ruins the experience for me.

Finally the day has come for us poor Australians to get our release! Now just gotta get through another 8 hours of work, 1 hour travel home(+30mins to get the game) and I can finally play! :(

Have made a deal with a good friend to only play the campaign co-op. Unfortunately he has a pretty full on weekend so will get through about 4 hours tonight then ill be hitting multiplayer until Sunday night when hes able to play again.

Any AUS players can add DreWz12000 - XBL

Played some more of the campaign. Still having fun, but some parts have been really frustrating, for the most part because in a few specific places, my friendly AI seemed just to break, and cause me to restart from a checkpoint far back.

Like on the night mission on/in the
airstrip/airport
and you have 3 groups of around 5-6 soldiers each that you have to stealthily make your way through group by group, and then run about 200m to a "regroup" spot. I cleared out the first group, and my AI teammates just stayed in cover where they were, taking super long shots from back where they were for any of the sync shots I set up. Then, when I got to the regroup spot, and looked back, they still wouldn't move from their original spots. I had to restart the entire sequence.

Another time was on the (rainy) mission where you are
rescuing the Russian agent
. I got on my spot to breach one of the two doors into a room, and one AI teammate comes over and stands next to me. Then nothing, the other two teammates are NOWHERE to be found. I waited at the door for like 3 minutes, but it wouldn't let me do anything. Again, I had to restart from a checkpoint.

Anyone else have any issues like these?

just picked this up for 360 - the game recommends that I install the game to my HD. Am i missing out on anything if I don't (a la BF3's hd texture pack)?

Lol had a match where I melee killed maybe 10 or so people.

I hate being stuck in the reload animation and not be able to throw a nade.

Game isn't bad. I've squeezed in maybe 6-7 matches but no sp

Nobody else bored to tears with the Campaign? I feel obligated to beat it for the Uplay points, trophies and because I wasted my free redbox rental on it =/

was about to use my free rebox rental on this... so its not worth it? lol

I liked it more than both GRAWs at least.
though whoever thought up the last mission needs to be fired.

why are the Ghosts in story mode so badass looking but the MP ghosts are so dull.

Installing my Delish Signture Edish now, yo. Contemplating whether I should even bother with the campaign at all. I'll give it a go, I guess.

Damn, why don't they include a challenging difficulty setting? Even COD has veteran mode. This sounds like Conviction all over again.

So apparently your AI ghost teammates can easily fire through multiple buildings and walls to get their synch shot. Good to know.

And they have no problem sprinting mere inches in front of an enemy guard without being detected, whereas I got spotted through a fence.

Enemy AI awareness seems at times to be random. I can clear one area of casually patrolling guards only to move into the next to find a dozen or more on full alert, criss-crossing every yard of space looking for something, all while a helicopter circles 30 feet off the ground. It can be pretty hard to take this game seriously at times.

And a Pro Tip: Those spots in the game where it waits for you to stack up at a door or other objective? Don't do it unless you're the last one in your team that the game is waiting for. Twice now I've stacked up only to wait forever for one or more of the allied AIs to join us - which never happens. Of course once you're in this mode there is nothing for you to do besides go back to the game menu and restart from the last checkpoint.

At this point I'm not feeling much joy in playing through the campaign. Its decent, but so far holds no high points that didn't happen as a result of something inconsequential as holding the X button. Not even aiming mind you, just holding the button.

Please tell me Guerilla mode is the saving grace here.

Then again maybe I'm just hard to satisfy after playing through Max Payne 3. Its more than possible. ;P

I played Max Payne and then played this too...you aren't alone maybe Max Payne was better than I thought because this feels super shallow right now. I went through a whole level to extract a VIP to realize Ghost Lead was stuck trying to crawl through a hole we had already cleared at the very beginning. :/

And this damn stacking up thing is booboo. BOOBOO! Ugh can't get out of it at all, just gotta wait and watch your character look left and right and left and right and etc...and I agree on all points stated. The campaign is just - there.

I suppose you could try not using the sync shot, sensor grenades, UAV and warhammer mech but since the scenarios are built around using them that's easier said than done. It's nowhere near as hard as CoD's veteran mode, and it isn't even as hard as the 2 GRAW games on their respective hardest difficulties.

Yeah, this is a frustrating design decision. It worked for the most part in Conviction, and obviously the are similar effects in the Assassins Creed games, but it seems incredibly out of place here. I get what they were going for, but if they wanted to utilise some sort of perceived augmented reality here, they could have found a far more creative wa to do it.

Yeah, there are some awkward immersion ruining bugs/glitches. It appears to be a similar situation to what the BF3 campaign was like at launch. I've had squad mates run right through me, shoot through buildings etc, and yeah, the enemy detection for your team mates is much more relaxed than it is for the player. Nothing majorly game breaking, but aspects of it are pretty rough.

Character models and textures are really unimpressive.

What happened with the graphics? Before they scrapped the game and started again in a more realistic way they released a demo that looked great.

This is the video I'm talking about. Youtube video quality doesn't help, but the video looked great in 1080p, they released it on PSN if I'm not mistaken.

Is that video a good indication of how the game plays? Because I've been wanting to check Future Soldier since I saw this video way back in E3 2010.

I didn't try the beta as my backlog is already big enough.

Yes, it is for the most part.

While the image quality doesn't appear to be as high as in that demo (and it's hard to be sure given that it's offscreen), the gameplay is very similar.

The one thing that really irks me is that the game isn't as open ended as I would have liked. Even in that video the scenario was clearly geared towards your new abilities, which is fine for the occasional segment where you need to constrain gameplay in order to best deliver narrative. But in the final release, almost every scenario is built around your special abilities. I would love a more open, sandbox style Ghost Recon game. This is just too narrow.

That said, while the plot is almost trite beyond belief, there are many gamers that will lap this up. Do you adore CoD's campaigns? Do you think Act of Valor was Oscar-worthy cinematic genius? Yeah? Then you'll love this.

Guerilla mode is the games saving grace for me. It's not perfect, but I'll dedicate a few dozen hours go it at least.

I don´t get how people still expect these games to have good, marginally realistic and tactical single player campaigns...

Ever since i had to fight a rocket spewing helicopter in the backyard of a house at the end of R6 Vegas, that i´ve realized that GR and RS series have long since moved from the Bourne to the 007 universe.
