I'm playing with australians and people in the japan/asia region and I definitely faced more mayo than ketchup.
I'm more talking about people not fundamentally understanding how popularity contests work.

and you're proving my point, i'm ketchup and i've played twice against Mayo in about 25-30 games. You're saying you played more mayo than ketchup

man i bet the americas are super skewed, i've had maybe a handful of mayo v mayo over the last 30 games, probably like 5 or so

They didn't correct it because it was skewed, the first event was also like that right off the gate
also no I don't think not half-assing things is stupid as balls. Either go full concept, or no concept. Picking a meaningless side is not an event

While that might be a bit much, I don't think there's any place in a thread like this for making up rumors like that.
I mean, it's not supposed to be a serious thing. Ultimately I'm playing because it's fun and the atmosphere during the splatfest is a nice change from the usual. Whether I actually play against the other side doesn't seem like that big a deal.

why name teams then? why have "team ketchup" and "team mayo" in the matchmaking. Don't tell me it's a confrontational concept so the confrontation should be THE MAIN PART of the concept

The matchmaking button says, "Battle alongside players on your Splatfest team." That's kinda suggesting that you'll be competing with a side against the other side...
if you tell me to pick a hockey team and tell me i'll be playing alongside players from my team, i'm not really expecting to play against my team

No problem. What was Dan's comment, by the way? I watched Blue Bombing yesterday and don't recall anything about Adam Sandler. I just know he's a fan of him and his movies. And to be honest, when I first read Piston's post, I thought it said Adam Sessler.

It's not meant to split things neatly into equal pools.
So instead of long wait times they'll let you actually have a match instead of sitting in the lobby before timing out.

so what you'd rather people just sit in lobbies all day waiting for ketchup to show up, gank them, and then just sit there?
because in my definition that would be considered half-assing it because then people wouldn't be actually playing the game because of the one-sided popularity

i'm saying if you're going to have an event about confrontation, and not do the confrontation part properly (in my opinion), even if it's because of logistics, then don't have that event at all. I'm ok with y'all disagreeing with me, just don't slide into an "you can't criticize it because that's what they intended" mode

I Started it at 22 or 23 and felt over levelled.
