GirlGAF |OT 2| Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Eve?

I've learned that metabolism is a funny thing. As soon as you think you've got a handle on it, it changes. For better or worse.

You hitting a wall, Blade? Have you tried stimulating/revving it up with a slight diet change? Fiction's not wrong about the green chiles thing. Spice can sometimes = boom-boom metab up.

And, Dev, so scared for when I have kids. I feel the beer will linger after that. :(

I'm fine, thanks for your concern. We're looking after eachother, we're still family, regardless.

I applied for a job interstate yesterday, at a ski resort in the mountains for the winter.

Sorry to hear about the recent events in your life. :/ Working at a ski resort high in the mountains sounds like just the thing to clear the head. I hope you get the job.

Sorry to butt in but I need a bit of a skincare advice *paging Cloudwalking!*

I have very dry skin under my eyes and after trying many eye creams I have settled on Bobby Brown Extra Repair eye cream. It is so rich and moisturising and it has been very good for my dry under eyes. I think I have gone through about 4 pots so far but I want to try something else as it is very expensive for essentially an under-eye skin moisturiser. I do suffer from dark circles and a few fine-lines, no crows feet so far, but I hear they develop early for people with dry under-eye skin if they don't moisturise enough... eek! :\. Ideally, I'd like to try something that helps with these as well but I've all but given up on trying to find something that would actually help with dark circles. But surely there must be something better out there that doesn't cost £40 and does more than just moisturise the under-eye skin? I think I remember Cloudwalking saying something about Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado? Tried to search but nothing came up. Its half the price at just £20 and I have heard some really good things about it but I am a bit cautious when it comes to eye creams. Has anyone tried it before?

Hey :) I have exactly the same problem as you. I have really sensitive eyes and skin around my eyes which gets itchy and irritated really easily, and yes it's extremely dry! I tried every eye cream under the sun (including the Bobbi Brown one you mentioned) until settling on Kiehl's Avocado Eye Treatment. I recommend it to everyone all of the time, I'm just totally in love with it and have been using it for about 4 years now.

The main reasons I like it so much are: 1) it's relatively inexpensive 2) it gives incredible moisture 3) when you apply it it doesn't migrate into the eye at all, and 4) it doesn't have any sort of perfume/funky smell. It's not touted as having any anti-aging ingredients, but honestly, I don't feel like it needs it as it leaves the skin under my eyes so buttery and smooth. Sunscreen/sunglasses will do the most to protect you from crow's feet anyway :)

Be advised though, it's extremely rich! Nice because you barely have to use any of it to cover the eye area, but a con can be that it might not work well for you under makeup. It goes on like a balm, a bit slippery, and remains quite shiny. I used to use it under my concealer, but I recently switched concealers and found that it just doesn't jive well with the Kiehl's eye cream. Since I have such dry undereye skin I need to wear an eye cream at all times... So I use the Kiehl's overnight (it's an amazing night cream!) and apply Lancome's Genifique Yeux for daytime use. Genifique Yeux goes on nearly matte and plays much better with concealer while still giving me a good 8 hours of moisture. You could try the Kiehl's under your makeup and then decide if you think it works for you. Good luck :)

Oh thank you so much for the reply! I think I might get away with using it during the day because ever since my eyes have gotten less dry I have been using this concealer that dries a bit powdery and doesn't settle into the fine lines as much. There isn't a concealer that I have tried that doesn't do it. Some don't settle that bad some just slip and slide all over the place! So I don't mind if it does a bit as it isn't too visible and can be fixed easily.

I am also considering getting Clinique Repairwear Laser eyecream. I think I am gonna get both, use Kiehl's at night and Clinique during the day. Both together would cost me £48 but they will last me much longer than just 2.5 month which is what Bobbi Brown one used to do if I didn't use it too much.

Ugh. There is a hard lump under my left ear! I just noticed it today before cleaning my new ear piercing. It certainly Wasn't there before but maybe this is a sign of infection?

How did you get your ears pierced? My sister had hers done with a piercing gun (the "wrong" way apparently) and she had some sort of infection or inflammation. I think her earlobe became swollen and red and there was some pus from them piercing so you might not have the same thing. Could it be an epidermoid cyst or something like that? It could be caused by the piercing too.

Under the ear? Like, behind it or still on the ear?

There's a lymph node behind the ear that can turn into a lump when you're sick.

Stopped in here recently.

You can get stuff written inside the locket too. I'll probably do that at some point in one of the Alyson Fox ones.

.... it makes perfect sense for a child to say this ... i guess ....

I guess its kind of a notion that sometimes carries on into adulthood though right? Can't go to strip club, girlfriend will get jealous. Can't watch the game, wife is nagging about fixing the car. Etc etc etc.

Coming from ramus I'd be more offended with the advice he gives, he's the most useless character in the game.

I don't think it is anything to be offended about anyway. It's very much from a child's perspective. Kids tend to have a funny way of looking at things.

When I was a kid, I tended to view girls as being more mature and serious. I was always up to things that I perhaps shouldn't be, or that my mother wouldn't want me to be doing. I think I would have been more reluctant to tell the girls what we were doing through fear of them telling on us. lol

Y'all save me. I have to go shopping for professional clothes soon! Oh lawd.

If I take Skype with me, can you all just shop for me? :p

Also I'm looking through dresses and it's obvious this Allegra K is some scammy shit. Bad reviews everywhere getting poor products. It goes from like 5.00 and then the next thing is like 5.01. The fuck.

I looked up allegra k out of curiosity, saw this on their splash page:

yeah... not gonna delve further. standard cheapo pinned fashion junk.

Oh dear, I can't view that without immediately thinking of those animated porn advertisements.
Everything on myhabit has a video spin. It's slightly creepy, and really doesn't add much information.

Saw this posted in the stupid question thread. Thoughts?

You know, forgive me if I sound incredibly naive, but I'm looking for my ignorance about women in general to be corrected and I'm incredibly sorry if this comes off as sexist and short-sighted...but...

Reddit's GoneWild section...how is it even possible for THAT many females that (as far as we know or Reddit knows) has no connection to any pornographic company to be so willing to expose themselves naked for the whole world to see. And to add to the straight up mind fuck I'm having just about every single one of these females are attractive on some level. I've, literally, yet to see a GoneWild picture on reddit of a chick that I seriously thought was atrocious looking.

Okay, so maybe I'm equating attractiveness with being...Idk what to say "innocent" or some shit you wanna call it, but I hear some say they do it for attention...but, I'm still trying to wrap my head around (as a GUY mind you) how these incredibly attractive girls can be doing this for attention...they're attractive females! THey have attention IRL by default!

I'd really like the psychology broken down for me, because I can't for the LIFE of me understand where they're coming from to a CORE reason why a group of females would do this.

My own reply:

I'm going to cross post this in the girls thread. Maybe they can shed light or at least offer a more rounded response.

You ought not generalise like that though. If a girl wants to show her self to the world, it isn't necessarily attention seeking - people share pictures online on twitter etc, maybe they just like being uninhibited, or you know, some girls... just want to have fun? :p

edit: Just visited the site in question... for some reason I thought it was just spring break stuff.. fair warning: *very nsfw if you go there... *

You do care.
Right? I'm out campaigning against women baring their breasts on the weekend. I care so much! Look at all my caring!
Why call them stupid? Who cares. People need to stop stigmatizing nudity or shaming those who expose themselves.
Because they're being stupid in the same way I think getting a tatoo is stupid. Kind of. It stems from the same kind of pointlessness.

I don't think we can generalise to that extent. There is such a thing as modesty.

Even in the reverse situation, I doubt any of my past girlfriends would appreciate my posting pictures of my genitals for the world to see. :p

Don't strawman me, you care enough to judge them for it that much is obvious.

Um your partner doesn't own your body. You can discuss with them your views on nudity but ultimately it's your decision.
