Colfer can actually sing pretty well, as long as the show's music people remember that he can't actually sing like a girl (despite all the jokes to the contrary).netguy503 said:

I really liked the episode. The "Sue marrying herself" plotline was a bit too silly for my tastes, but other than that, as I said, I thought the episode was really good. Plus, the episode introduced me to "Marry You", a song where I think that the Glee version is actually better than the original.
Granted, this is Glee, a show where logic doesn't exist, but giving Kurt a starring role at Sectionals just doesn't make sense. He's just joined the school - he's lucky even to be singing at Sectionals in the first place.

The amount of Kurt fawning was unbearable. Every single goddamn cheesy speech was ALL ABOUT KURT - Burt and Carole's wedding was merely an afterthought. Murphy has laid on so thick how AMAZING and INSPIRING Kurt is, that i couldn't help but roll my eyes throughout most of his scenes. He's getting waaaaaaaaay too much screen-time, to the detriment of other characters. BTW, where the hell is Emma through all this? You'd think this bullying plotline would be the perfect use of her character.
Brit and Artie makes no sense after Duets. It feels like the writers just skipped a chunk of relationship development between them. So sloppy.
This episode kind of cemented for me just how terrible a person that Kurt is.
- Yes, the bully was kind of creepy, but Kurt tried to GET HIM EXPELLED because he couldn't handle attention from another gay kid that he didn't choose to like.
- He made his newlywed parents give up their honeymoon because he wanted to go to a new school rather than deal with his problems.
- He got all of his friends to get in a massive fistfight
- Even after Sam got hurt, Kurt never thought to mention the truth about why he's so bothered by the bully.
I understand what Kurt is going through, but wow, he is just acting like a spoiled brat who would rather save face over NOT ruing somebody's life.
I think Murphy's aim is to make us care about Kurt, but the more this goes on, the more I think that Kurt is awful.
Also, I kinda feel bad for Finn. He's getting the shaft.

In the next episode preview you can see New Directions singing dog days are over in the auditiorium where the competition is being held which mean that they probably won. Dalton will lose with that only song. Rachel is only cheering on him because she knows they will win without Kurt.
I don't think Kurt's voice sucks. It's no worse than autotuned Finn and the others. He does sounds like a girl like in the recent duet with Rachel. He is strong in old fashioned songs and that's it.

I'm having a hard time believing Ryan Murphy wrote that episode. The hell? There was a surprising amount of continuity and touching moments there especially for a Murphy ep.

The show almost always fails at writing drama so I'm not really comfortable with them tackling such a serious issue, - especially if it's as horribly done as it was in "never been kissed" - but I am glad that they're *at least* not doing away with it so easily either.

The wedding was a steady, boring plot with no rising action. There was no tension, no conflict all episode long outside of Kurt's B-story, which is already getting on my nerves, and I usually go for the gay storylines because of who I am.
The dialogue and pacing were both disasters.
Sue saved it. Kurt's a fucking blight on everything in the show now, as much as I love him and Blaine getting together and where that storyline could go. Serious overload in this episode.

He didn't WANT to go to a new school, his parents did what any parents would do in such a situation which is make their kids come first. They are very concerned, and rightly so, by the turn that bullying is getting. To be honest I found it very creepy in this episode.
Kurt is surely very afraid of the possible retribution, I don't think he's acting like a brat. He's been harassed, insulted, pushed and shoved and made feel horrible for WEEKS but the bully(ies?). He's just speaking out, which is exactly what most people that are victim of bullying don't do.
I think Finn represented well what the average person does in the face of bullying, ie nothing because they also fear retributions.

But anyway, I'm also not really utterly happy about this episode. I think Sue's bit was downright idiotic. I really really really didn't like it. It felt like something written just to get her some airtime.
I like her, but the marriage to herself was dumb imo.
Kurt storyline, well to be honest I expected it since I read recently Blaine was gonna be made a recurring character. So something had to happen. I'm also ambivalent about Kurt. I know the show is all about stereotypes and such, but sometimes he's too stereotypical. Oh well, the wedding was kinda cute and I actually like Shu's song
The wedding did seem to happen really fast, but whatever frankly. The dancing bit at the beginning was fun although I don't know why they insist on making Finn sing.
Also Furt makes me think of Fart, LOL.
Quinn is so bland, even her singing. I don't care for her at all. I don't care at all for Emma either, so I was pretty happy she wasn't on the show.

Another good episode and it had some great parts in it, liked the Marry You song and the Just the way you are part was awesome imo. Kurt leaving was pretty shocking though didn't think he'd actually leave especially after what the Glee club did for him in the episode, and even Sue!

I didn't get that impression at all. A slow motion shot of a random guy high fiving him in the hall? Applause as he enters the room? *eyeroll* They were respectful when turning down his ideas as well, with good reason. I realize this show is pure fantasy at this point, but i'm still irked that they're handling the anti-bullying message in such an idealized way. It sends the wrong message basing such a serious plotline in an incredibly phony setting. None of it rings true for me.Father_Brain said:

And if Glee were really tackling bullying in the most idealized manner possible, Kurt wouldn't have transferred at all - Karofsky would have been permanently expelled, or somehow defeated by ND banding together against him. I won't claim that this storyline is sending a realistic "message" (and I've criticized NBK, which was actually advertised with this gag-inducing promo, on those grounds), but I've become more forgiving of that aspect - spreading it out over multiple episodes makes it come off less as a Very Special Episode and more like a fictional story about fictional characters.
When Season 1 ended, I remember thinking "gosh, I hope next season takes the focus away from those two annoying turds Rachel and Finn." What I didn't expect is that it would centre entirely on Annoyance Number 3, Kurt. Lawd hammercy.
It's still a terrible misrepresentation of bullying. It's incredibly clear that Ryan Murphy is trying to align the show with a cause, but it's not doing that cause any favors. A typical bullying victim doesn't get the fairy tale treatment that Kurt has gotten.Father_Brain said:

Too bad in season 2, she's the captain of the cheerleader again pretty much reverted to her mean old self :lol .
All the characters are pretty much annoying to a certain extent.
Rachel and her diva attitude is deeply irritating yet so funny. Anyone remember when she said that the whole club was a dead weight she had to carry with her voice alone :lol . She sent her rival to crack house too.
Oh and I hate Santana. She pretty much backstabbed the club anytime she could with the
help of Sue in season 1. She's also pretty much using gay jokes against Kurt all the time without ever getting punished for her actions. It's basically the mean and vulgar version of Rachel.
My main problem with Kurt is that he is now the martyr of the show and that storyline is basically the only one on the show right now. I love Kurt don't get me wrong. But every episode you see Kurt about to cry and the show finds a reason why you should care for him. The other characters have overall more screen time than he does but they do nothing asides ridiculous stuff like dreaming about the football coach to cool down their needs and coming up with a protest against the banning of tater tots or having Sue marry herself. It seems Ryan Murphy has run out of idea about Rachel. She pretty much has what she wanted : Finn and the glee club. She also got rid of her rival so nothing else to do about her. Same for Quinn : Cheerleader and new boyfriend. Same for Finn : Back as the quarterback and he got Rachel. Hopefully the back nine episodes are going to be more varied.
