I died twice at this part :lol
First time he caught ne by surprise. He sucked so much on Titan mode I didn't expect him to draw your health so quickly. I was laughing so much for losing to him that he got me omce more :lol

Can't get past that endless fight. Always die when there's a couple of mobs left :(

I'm there now. Goddamn sirens with their aerial scream. Time to watch some vids to recollect how long this fight actually lasts and when I should time my magic/rage of sparta.

Choas was actually really doable for me post Hades, but now the difficulty ramps up considerably again.

Ha. Casino Royale was the first thing I thought of when I saw the God of War intro.

I think the fact that the song beat perfectly with the video editing is more surprising. as if they actually make the opening beat based on that song:lol

Jesus at Krato's model at the end of the game right after
Gaia falls and it's lightning and thundering

I made Kratos go as close to the screen as I could and was just in awe. I cannot believe we reached this level of detail already.

What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck at jumping down the chain at what I (assume) is the end of the game?

Have I just gotten too old and fat to handle twitch gaming? Should I be able to easily dodge the spider web of stone and wood pillars? Is there a safe path that I'm missing? Is there any point to the game slowing down when you get hit, or is it just to make the next unavoidable log that much more frustrating?

This game. I've run into maybe two combat sequences that required a reload but probably 20+ deaths to hermes chases, timed puzzles and Goddamn base jumping.

Hate those bitches

Finally beaten it. Hardest part on Chaos by far. Well, probably until a couple of minutes :>

Yeah I'm at the Cerberus now. And I thought it was hard on Titan :lol The Gorgon method is the quickest on paper, but man if it isn't completely unreliable. I hit dogs or nothing more often than not. Can't get past the second phase for now. Going to be a tough fight.

I just beat him too! so awesome. my second gorgon stare took care of both satyrs, so lucky.

Chaos mode virtually conquered? seems like it.

It's not just you. That part is shit and doesn't belong in the game.

Holy shit did they not test this game? Challenge of Olympus is too hard. I've beaten the first and the last 3, but challenges 2 3 and 4 are so hard.

they are pretty doable, just google them or search on youtube. Check GameFAQs too. There are two in the ultimate edition extras that are incredibly difficult and I gave up on them (I don't usually give up in these situations).

Just beat the scorpion boss. The labyrinth puzzle was great, almost reminded me of Echochrome. Tons of chests to find if you looked around.

They are hard, but doable. In GoW 1 and 2 I couldn't complete any of the challenges, while I actually managed to complete all in GoW 3 (and subsequently platinum the game via the 'new game+' glitch :lol ).

Some tips...

Population Control - Stay near the edges. Use the L1 + Square when facing a lot of enemies near the edge. You'll get it eventually.

Bare Hands - Grab + Square to battery ram the baddies. Do not initiate mini-game kills for any of the bigger enemies; it takes too long so ram them to until they die. Try to knock the cyclops out of the ring if you can, but if not (again) do not initiate a mini-game kill; keep ramming him until he dies.

Get Stoned
- This one is the hardest, but the best two tips I can give you are, (1.) grab the zombie guys (by using Circle) to recover some health and (2.), when a Gorgon begins to turn you to stone, press L1 to counter the stone stare, but press the incorrect button at the prompt to turn to stone immediately instead of waiting to slowly turn to stone. Once I figured this out, I beat it within a few tries. Hope this helps.

The bow works on all difficulty levels on most bosses. Frankly it's way overpowered.

This. The Bow was the first thing I powered up, and it delivers in spades.

Beat it last night, 3 of 7 challenges completed, some of these suck--particularly No Hands. I keep grabbing to QTE when I'm in a crowd, which kills time.

After I finish these, Titan run. Might get a few of the Trophies on Easy to speed this up.

I didn't have much of a problem with that level, including the "endless" fights, it was the
scorpion
boss that gave me a lot of problems. It's not bad once you know all of the patterns.

I'm now at what I assume is the last boss fight. He's kicking my ass pretty good.

Going to have to try this, thanks. I beat Population Control and Bare Hands already (working through the challenges in order) but Get Stoned is kicking my ass.

The other challenges look pretty manageable, but I want to leave those for last and get through the "Stoned" challenge out of the way. But right now I'm playing through the GoW Collection and having a good time with those again. I've got GoW fever now! :lol

I already use this technique, and I've killed the 3 bad guys, but there were still 2 little guys that I couldn't get in time :(

Come on, it wasn't that bad. I got through on my third try.

But I do agree with your last point. Take for example the Hermes chase, there should have been more checkpoints along the way. The same can be said about some of the longer battles, like the one above the large box, where the enemies try to break the chain.

Ok so I am fighting the
lava dog
boss right now on titan mode and i am having the most difficult time imaginable defeating this guy. I have been kicking the dogs at him, but my friend told me it's best to kill the dogs with the bow and just working on punching him... What is the best strategy that you guys have found for beating him?

It's no idea to kill the dogs, since the big fire cerberus just spits out more of them. This is the strategy I used:

1) I used the Cestus' (fully upgraded), and started pounding him, occasionally dodging and jumping to avoid the exploding dogs (if you're lucky, they'll explode next to the cerberus, damaging him). After a while, you can initiate the first QTE, and it's pretty fucking important that you barely take any damage before finishing the first QTE.

2) Now, a Satyr will spawn, and the cerberus will keep squirting out exploding dogs. Keep hitting the cerberus with the Cestus and dodge insanely much (the Satyr does the most damage). DON'T try to kill the Satyr in this phase. Perform the second QTE on the cerberus.

3) During the third phase, another Satyr will spawn now (with the first one most likely being damaged from the second phase). Now, I had some Rage of Sparta left, so I activated it and started wailing at the cerberus (with Triangle). When it ran out, I switched to the regular blades and activated the Phalanx magic (tapping Circle to rain arrows on all enemies). If you're lucky, two blasts from that magic will activate the QTE for the cerberus, and perhaps kill one of the Satyrs. Kill off the cerberus, and when you have one Satyr left, only use the grapple move twice or thrice and kill him off that way (it's too risky to tackle him head-on).

This is the first time that I have legitimately considered switching to the easy mode.. I know it's pretty close the end of the game, but fuck i can never take off the first head without losing like half of my health. WHERE ARE THE GODDAMN CHECKPOINTS

After 4 hours with the Cerberus, I honestly just became a bitch and ran away from him. I just kept getting the dogs' attention, and ran towards cerby, then jump and dashing away letting them blow up on him. Same thing happened for the second phase with the single satyr. When the next two came, I just spammed rage of sparta and his sparta magic attack.

I'd say focus on killing the Cerberus first since his death will give you a ton of health and stuff. Then just grab those goats and kill em that way.

It's crazy how they were harder than any boss, especially the last one.

Just completed this :) GAF told me to play it first over Bayonetta, so i started it yesterday. Took me like 9 and a half hours in total, a really good game! I thought the controls were a bit cumbersome for some of the puzzles, and i thought Kratos' relationship with Pandora was a bit half baked but aside from that i have pretty much no complaints
Interesting ending too ;)
9/10 i'd give it.

here's a strat for the fire dog boss:

1st head -- pound him with cestus during the spits and keep rolling/running, try to not get hit at all, its possible to get to the 1st head without getting hit once

2nd head -- activate chaos blade right away and keep hitting him, ignore everything else. if you dont get to the QTE a few more regular hits should. i do this at this stage cause if you wait 3rd stage, the auto target gets screwed even more and will make you hit the satyrs most.

3rd head -- try to corner him and spam the blade super (shield/rain of arrows thing), a full magic bar of direct hits will get you to the last QTE and should kill at least one satyr.

btw, i had a full magic bar and about 3/4 rage. and i played on titan.

i had a tougher time on the scorpius than this guy.

oh man and I thought the rest of my Chaos run was going to be a breeze...
Zeus II
is kicking my ass like no tomorrow. After he recharges for the first time the fight takes a really nasty turn. When he summons a bunch of clones I'm pretty much done. Hard as hell.

Really? Took me 3 tries. It's certainly challenging and you have to have good reflexes, but it was certainly easier than the "lol let's spam shit non stop" bosses. I usually spam L1+[] since it makes you move enough to dodge his range attacks while kicking the shit out of his clones.

which weapon do you use? I'm using the Cestus now but I've noticed the blades' triangle attack knock him in the air more. Either way I'm doomed once the clones start appearing.

Use combat grapple, L1+O, to grab them when they start hitting the chain. The Square, Square, Triangle combo also works well for stunning them and the strong attack can hit multiple enemies. Just make sure they stay on you and not the chain.

Regular blades only. Rage of Sparta does wonder against the clones too. Magic isn't really an issue since you can somewhat force him to do his clone dash attack quite often to get some blue orbs.
