Has anyone found any cool stuff underwater? I've found 2 smashed planes and an abandoned large submarine. (It's near the tennis courts on the beach on the lower left of the map)

I didn't realise I could exit the sub and don scuba gear for the 2 planes but I swam inside the sub! incredible. Then swam back to my smaller yellow sub and headed off.
I wish I'd explored the planes now - but I don't know what would be in them.
So anytime you exit the sub you automatically get scuba gear? I thought you'd just drown.

Ok about 40% in spoiler / question which involves a plane

The
Trevor mission, where you hijack the jet and end up ditching it into the big lake in the middle
well, Lester makes a point of saying you won't be able to get access to the
equipment you lose in the mission due to the jet crash without a submersible
So I've now done all of the missions for the
submersible (collect 30 nuke cannisters - bonus is 250k plus the 30x23,000$ good haul)
but I have no idea how I would get one of those to the location where the
jet crashed
without picking one up with one of those big
crane choppers again
Surely I can't do that can I? Like just go and grab a
crane chopper - then steal "my" submersible (I own the place on the bay) and then drop it in the lake and find the jet remains?

Would love someone to answer this one - because...... I dunno if it was a throway line or something cool as fuck I can cash in on!

I love this game so damn much, but goddamn I can't help but feel they could've made the third person controls so much easier and simpler...

Tapping X to sprint is fine, but why do I have to hold X to jog? Stop, it's annoying. So many other third person games get it right, just let walking/jogging be up to the sensitivity of the analog sticks.

And I feel like the shooting while taking cover is clunky for no reason...I guess part of that comes from having to hold X to jog, ugh. Maybe the next one.
Absolutely yes, give this man a puppy. Rockstar's commitment to physicality and weightiness (just imagine that's a word for a sec) is to be praised for sure, but someone's gotta pull them aside sometime and tell them "no." The amount of in-door missions I've experienced where these exact issues cause me to slowly mince around with my gun lowered in the middle of a shootout..UGH. It seems so easily avoidable too.

IIRC GTAIV's online didn't go for this style of control like IV's campaign also did..so there's hope yet for that stuff. (Also: drive-bying is FUUUCKED).

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
But shooting with R2 is so bad :(

And yes I have those clip on trigger things. It still feel awful. I can't wait to be rid of this controller on the PS4.

I hate R2 shooting as well. But it's better for this game. Try it and see. A half press on R2 cures most of the jank.

I play with alternative and do just fine.

Good for you.

Hold the trigger down half-way when moving through an interior, or even outside.... anywhere really.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

Same! It was an accident, I continue to fuckup DPAD - UP and the top button (triangle) they are both "the top one" to my brain. Luckily scuba gear. A shark came but I swam inside the other sub in time. Dunno if he has perm scuba gear now - maybe I can buy it at ammunation.

I heard about that, spoiled by this thread earlier - the problem is like......... how do I find it? I'd like to find all the clues and uncover that properly.

That reminds me, anyone seen the weird illumnati looking eye and all these spots on mount chileard on the waiting room? It's like a map on the wall for the ummm conveyor belt ride to the bottom of the mountain (It's at the top) the map shows the whole mountain and like 8 random ? marks strewn across the mountain? Does this mean something?

Do you get full scuba gear when exiting the sub?

I want more of those light sticks for night diving.

Pretty hilarious that there's a radio ad for Righteous Slaughter that mentions a "surprise space level," which is totally what Ghost's has.

I just switched back to using the triggers after doing a rampage mission. Aiming from the hip while firing the uzi while moving around was sooooo much better than holding L1. Ifhalf-holding the "fire" trigger keeps the gun out without firing it, then that's the way to go in the heat-of-the-moment.

Which is actually a little frustrating. I don't need shootdodge, but there is something very different between MP3 and GTAV. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels nowhere close to being as satisfying as MP3.

I think it's the ability to aim from the hip, something that's alleviated by using the trigger half-pull. Traversing uneven terrain is a bit better here than in MP3 I think. Being able to slide over hoods it wonderful, it just needs to have more lenient timing (I too often just climb up onto the car).

Things that need to be added in GTAV through a (miracle) patch:

- Injuring/disarming a la RDR (if I shoot a purse snatcher in the leg, he shouldn't get up and immediately sprint 30 mph)
- Shoulder switching from MP3
- Prone from MP3
- Crouching from every game ever

The Lotus Elise (Tesla Coil) is one of the fastest cars in the game if not the fastest, but despite sinking so much money in to upgrading it, I just never use it. It's too quiet and makes hardly any sound. I need to hear that grunt and aggression in my vehicles. The Tesla just has no driving soul.

Why is it that early on I could dodge punches, now I can't
Why is is that sometime pushing B whiled riving triggers slo mo and sometimes it doesn't.?

Michael's cool, but I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying Trevor. Constantly funny, has a badass Walter Goggins vibe, very likable even when being despicable (just did that "scene")

Unless I'm not far enough in the game, I don't see how Trevor is "hell on Earth".

Because a murderous, drug addicted psychotic addicted to chaos and carnage without nary a trace of a soul. It's pretty much just his friendship with Michael (at least as far as I've played) that keeps him feeling somewhat human.

That man is a goddamn monster. He's hilarious and charming... but he's a fucking monster.

As he should be. He's an interesting character.

On the first point, I had the same problem. I forgot that I needed to hold L1/LB to lock on, and not click it. Also, holding square while holding L1/LB, during melee, automatically dodges.

So do you get anything worthwhile for getting all gold on flying school? I completed it but had trouble on the helicopter lessons; what the hell have they done to helicopters in this game? I usually love flying them in most games, especially GTA, but these are arguably the worst I've ever used. Even with maximum flying skill they weave side to side when flying straight for example. I will avoid them at all costs; planes are good though, but the frequent turbulence is pretty stupid.

I think it's a combination of the of the combat jog being lol and constantly slowing down in the middle of a firefight, the crosshairs having bad visibility in a lot of situations, crazy slow health regen/lock of health items like pills, the fact that enemies just magically spawn from anywhere without much of a damage indicator to tell you where the shots are coming from, and a cover system so sticky it makes Gears of War 1 look like Vanquish.

Combat is better than the previous GTAs, but you damn sure couldn't hang an entire game around it like Max Payne 3. It's still one of the weakest aspects of the game.

Cool, I'll have to give it a shot. Now I just have to find another sub or see if that one is still by the airbase.

Wonder if sharks can be punched and if they are a one hit kill.

Combat aint exactly Max Payne 3, that's for damn sure

It sure isn't, and it's, once again, holding the experience back IMO. Don't get me wrong, this is a great game, but these combat sections can swing so wildly from "that was fun" to "wtf" in the blink of an eye. And it's not just the controlling mechanics; the lack of feedback when you get hit means you're blindsided by damn near every death. No indication of where shots are coming from, no character flinch, no warning of low health, then oops you tripped from a flying bullet that came from the heavens.

Don't even get me started on these crazy notifications and tutorials in the middle of ongoing gameplay and while you're watching/listening to cutscenes. I only gots 2 eyes, yo.

And you can't crouch??? No, instead you stealth hunchback, BECAUSE WHO WOULD NEED TO CROUCH IN A SHOOTOUT.

/ragevent

On a more positive note, it's oddly amazing that I can drive to each hole with the golfcart in realtime while playing golf. So relaxing.

So he gets worse? Aside from that part, really he hasn't done anything that horrific yet. IMO, at least

Ok I just forced my way onto the military base and there is NOT
from what I can see - one of those crane choppers there :( - so I'm guessing I can't lift a submersible into the sea in the middle and find that plane?
EDIT: Ok fuckit, SPOILER
there's nothing but some guns there, no huge cash haul unfortunately which is what the mission led you to believe - and the dude used scuba gear not the submersible, fuckit - I'll skip that!

You end up getting access to one on a more perm basis - for buying a property

He does awful things... but a lot of stuff is implicit, part of his rampages, his rantings, and when you swap to him and the character scene/animation plays.

He's... kinda creepy. But my God, he's magnetic. In another life, he'd be a cult leader.

That's for sure. I'm finding myself playing as Trevor more than any other character. He's like a redneck Joker, you hate him and love him at the same time

This game is sooo good. I still can't believe some of the stuff they've managed to pull off. The water looks great, and it actually AFFECTS you! You jet ski into a big wave? You're sure as hell gonna make a jump, it's so cool just riding the water, too many games have fake water.

And it is the first game that has piqued my GF's interest for a long amount of time. She has tried a few, never really grasped shooter controls, never been a fan of racing games, kinda enjoyed Luigi's Mansion and other handheld games, but this is the first one she is hooked on, kinda awesome :D

Well actually, no it's not, because I've been stuck on my PC for the past 3 hours waiting for a turn >.>

I just spent 100k on a car I found. How do I make it my default vehicle so it never gets lost?

Also, anyone know of any infernus type vehicles that are parked around the city?

Hummm.... Trevor moment when you switch to him

So I switched to Trevor and he was in bed with Wade's cousin who was curled up and crying saying that he hopes it was all just a bad dream... That's huh...hmmm

Btw, without spoiling the real thing, please tell me that's not "The" Trevor scene that people are talking about?

You guys think they may make expansions for the game but that will be only available for the PS4 and Xbox1? I mean it would make sense. Release higher quality graphics, physics, but keep the same city and just add to it.

It's not. Trust me, you'll know it when that one comes around.
