If I didn't know better, I'd say Kojima designed this game.
There are more
semi-pervy hidden things like that, like dragging the finger on the screen while Kat is lounging in her house to zoom in and using the gyro to look at her up-close. If you change costumes, she'll extend her butt out and you can zoom in on that.
Or maybe I'm the only one who did that.
You can also
tap Dusty while in Kat's house to make him/her meow. Or tap during normal gameplay to make him/her disappear and reappear in a puff of smoke.
Don't drop a lot of money on a console/handheld for just one game. Now if you're going to buy other stuff later on like P4G, AC3L, Sound Shapes, etc., then consider buying a Vita. Buy one when you think there are a bunch of games on it that you want to play.
Completed the game and (current) dlc 100% earlier today. I absolutely devoured everything on that tiny cartridge, and wish the game just bs'd more things for me to do so I didn't feel so stupid flying around aimlessly ("Uh, Kat. Go over there" would be more than enough). Even a NG+ with nothing else added would be more than enough when I get such pure pleasure from falling/sliding around the map. I could play through this game forever and ever.
Truth be told I was going to get this game regardless of what it was as soon as I found out it was made by Toyama and Co.... the music, art, story and charm are all icing on an original and totally honest work/cake. My heart has been won over by every bit of what I played, and I hope we see Kat in PBR as well as a sequel down the road, because she's definitely earned it.
If anyone else is experiencing withdraw, I'd like to recommend a non-gaming podcast, Radiolab, which has a wonderful episode on falling: http://www.radiolab.org/2010/sep/20/
One of the bits in the podcast actually influenced my take on the plot:
As you probably know, the sensation of falling in a dream and waking up suddenly is something of a universal experience- it crosses language and culture as something we all know and feel at one time or another. The science behind that sensation theorizes it was an evolutionary defense mechanism from when humans/apes still lived in trees, because falling meant instant vulnerability to predators. That would put a lot of emphasis on this "rush" as a force of good, or rather necessity, in our lives.
Given the obvious dream-like nature of Kat's world, how pedestrians phase in and out and a world is built without any nearby natural resources, also the nature of the creators shaping a world referred to as someone's "dream", I feel like the gravity powers at work are some kind of fail-safe for a dream out of control. Kat inheriting these powers as a "hero" would then be symbolic of her role as this world's protector, perhaps even the avatar or guardian of the dreamer herself (especially because of her previous position of royalty). Getting cast out of the highest point would make sense if her duty put her at odds with her own people (ending the dream = ending those she is "protecting")
I'm probably reaching here, but I saw the "world pillar" or whatever it was as a metaphor for the spinal chord holding the "world" together, ascending all experience into the brain, which would be the highest, rawest place in a dream. It also sets the stage for the different dream worlds a person can experience in one night, as well as the completely distorted sense of time we have while dreaming. The pillar also obviously calls on several different mythologies, and the gods (the heart of creation) are always based out of the top.
Are the Nevi nightmares taking over, or a natural part of a dream's cycle trying to keep the dreamer from sleeping in too late? Is the great darkness at the bottom an end to the dream, or something more sinister Kat/the Nevi are meant to protect? We don't really have any answers, but I find all the potential fascinating
Finished MGS2 and I'm back to this going through each town doing the trials something I don't usually do. Waiting for the DLC tomorrow, something I almost never do.
Was just going around snapping pics of the cities. It's really well built, shame there isn't more to do and it's just window dressing.
Platted this today, and I was very satisfied with the game as a whole. I'm glad something good came out of SCEJ for the Vita at least. The game is so different and unique, hopefully there's a sequel.
I’m now up to chapter 15 and the story is starting to get really weird (in a good way). I'm pretty sure after the village section she’s going to try and
climb up the massive tower.
Anyway....I loved
falling down to the village.
This game has such superb atmosphere. And I really do love how Kat has no idea what the hell is going on, it’s all very dream like.
Just turned it on, played for about 5 minutes. First impressions:
+ graphics look nice
- what the fuck, no English VO? Wow...
- what the fuck, Pressing start skips cutscenes instead of pausing them? In 2012? In a HANDHELD game?
- game is completely "Japanesey" with weird music and characters always seem to be yelling

2 things. I think the language is a made up one with the occasional French word or so thrown in there. Second, the game starts kinda action heavy so, yeah, there's going to be some yelling.

It is a free web comic that was released after the game's Japanese release. Sony Asia are translating it into English. Cheesemeister translated them for me, and I have all 4 chapters in a zip file in the OP.
Hmm is the dlc available in the eu, I can't seem to find it.
There also weren't any codes in the box...
I knew I should've bought it digitally... goddammit!
But after a couple of scee fiasco's with my psp games I'm a bit carefull now (Motor Storm AE pulled from the store for some time and I still can't redownload Holy invasion of privacy Badman or the renamed version what did I do to deserve this Mylord).
The codes were preorder bonuses only from specific retailers. They didn't come in the box, they were sent out via e-mail.
The first DLC (Spy) will be available tomorrow, so there is no DLC on the store yet.

- It's not english, it's not any language. If that bothers you, you've picked the wrong game
- 95% of the cutscenes are the comic book style, which don't progress without you swiping the screen
- lol, seriously? what the fuck is wrong with you?
Finished the story mode last night and I have to say that I absolutely loved this game. Everything about it felt so refreshing and new, and I enjoyed every minute of my time with it. It's been a very, very long time since a new IP made me feel like this; Gravity Rush made me really glad to be a gamer, because I got to enjoy this wonderful new experience. And honestly, I feel very sad for anyone who can't appreciate this sublime little game.
I can't wait for the sequel. (There MUST be a sequel!!)
I hope the Military DLC goes up on the store for all on the EU store soon, because I didnt get a code either, and I don't even remember who the hell in the UK was offering it :/
Sounds like those missions are a blast, so kinda pissed I'm missing out them because I wanted this on card in lovely box.

Alright, alright. Should have worded it better. Not like protecting them in the traditional sense.
Escort missions in which I have to pick someone up with my Gravity powers and fly them across town or something. The whole thing is, take something like Assassins Creed 2, which had plenty of stuff to do around the world and, granted, the series eventually went overboad with all of that I still think that GR's world could use some more stuff to it.
