The German MEPs are all delivering exactly the same speech again and again. Super dull.

EDIT: They've not reduced military expenditure because they're one of three countries in Europe that actually meets the NATO requirements. You're not one of them, Germany.

What we've heard so far:

1. It's Greece's fault!
2. It's Europe's fault!
3. Please just give us some proposals!
4. Europe must be destroyed.

What we've seen so far:

1. More old man crotch than I was comfortable with.

poor countries are getting desperate now that it's looking more and more like greece actually have to pay the money they've lent.

You thought Tsipras held the referendum, campaigned for No, and said he'd resign if the vote was Yes as part of a dastardly attempt to get himself fired?

This seems...implausible.

This seems extremly plausible.

Previous help program was ending on 30.06 so he put referendum on 05.07 and asked for extension of program to buy himself time without commiting to anything.

Then if voters said yes he would wash his hands and say I promised to not surrender to EU demands during elections but since it is what citizens of Greece want I'll do it.

Exactly what you can expect from populist.

I'm going to need a transcript of Iglesias claiming that Europe needs to be destroyed. So far he's been very much pro EU, even if he despises the status quo. And it doesn't resonate at all with his campaign in Spain.

I haven't read this thread last hours other than this page but I watched this circus. It was another guy who said that.

That probably actually makes Finland and Estonia the hardest obstacles to overcome, with Germany in 3rd.

It was Farage who said it. Nothing new, coming from him.

No dude, a Spanish dude's last sentence literally was "The European Union must be destroyed".

I'm not sure if i heard it correctly, but i think he also claimed that Chile after the golpe was much better and that there should be something similar in europe.

I think that was our polish nutso Janusz Korwin Mikke. But he's also a man who says stuff like "women are by nature stupider than men" :D And yesterday he did nazi salute during session :D

A yes, it is him. But he really sounded Spanish for some reason.

He said "Ein Reich, ein Volk, ein Ticket!" and then he did the salute. It was in regards to the one ticket for all kinds of transport in EU.

Read @AmbroseEP telegraph.co.uk/finance/econom… - a couple of disagreements. Maxim was not a “wake” on Sunday - see my upcoming documentary (1/2)

Doesnt deny the plan was to lose and absolve responsibility and he is pratically embedded in Syriza's head quarters

This Tsipras just sits there laughing. So pathetic while the people in his country are on the streets without any money.

Right under it:

@paulmasonnews Was thinking of the late night talks, until 3.30 AM apparently. That's when it became maudlin. But 'motive' is subtle matter

@AmbroseEP true - i think we talk to different wings of reality! but congrats on the piece

Oliver Rivers ‏@maxrothbarth 5 hHá 5 horas
@paulmasonnews @AmbroseEP Do either of you have a source to stand up claim Tsipras wanted to lose? Nothing in AE-P's story does.

Paul Mason ‏@paulmasonnews 5 hHá 5 horas
@maxrothbarth @AmbroseEP I don’t think he wanted to lose. I think some in cabinet may have. They were certainly unsure of win until Friday

The problem with the "he wanted to lose" narrative is that it ignores that if he called snap elections, syriza had a good chance of grabbing an even larger share of government, at which point one's going down the 14th hyperdimension neptunia waaaay too much.
Maxim, as you probably know, most likely refers to Maximos Mansion.

There is also the follow-up tweet where he explicitly mentions what he finds correct

Especially as we (Finland) have now pretty big eurosceptic party in our government... They are going to do political suicide if they agree with the new terms. Going to be ugly here...

People in my country have been like this many years. Tsipras is our hero. Seeing him on good mood gives me confidence. It's the first time in my life I've faith in a greek Prime Minister.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
Keep in mind politicians in several countries are facing their own anti austerity movements and absolutely do not want to send the message that dragging your feet on implementing bailout agreements is a viable way to get away with not paying debts.

The eastern Europeans especially are unsympathetic given they successfully navigated much tougher auserity than Greece to get back to growth.

Merkel is far from the one pulling all the strings. Just let Greece leave seems to be the growing sentiment.

.... What?
No country has, in history, implemented austerity was hard as Greece did 2010-2014.
