Given that Danjin44 Danjin44 brought me to play so many Vanillaware games with his / her threads i appreciate your thread.

So this will be an advanced rerelease of the original? Any words on a release in the EU?

I think like Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, they gonna update the gameplay and visuals, there is no western release yet but I'm hoping NIS will bring it over like they always do.

That's not Muramasa. :lollipop_tongue:

Never got to play this game, so this remaster might be my chance .
Like Murasama, GrimGrimoire wasn't published by Atlus, if this game is getting re-released so is Murasama at some point.

GrimGrimoire is PS2 classic like Odin Sphere, it was about damn time the game gets a proper remaster.

What's the main draw for the game? I watched a gameplay video but as usual it's quite confusing.

Oh so you say there's a chance?

Well so far we are getting this and 13 Sentinels on the Switch. Maybe Muramasa is next!

The gameplay is interesting take on RTS and as usual it has good characters and story.

God I hope so, Murasama is too good to be stuck on a dead system.

I'm excited for it, hope it comes over. Strange but welcomed news! I haven't played it in sooooo long though.

Great news 🙂
Have the original on Ps2 but forgot all about it in a flurry of cheap, end of gen game purchases.
Can't wait to give it another go.
If it's as good as the Odin sphere remaster, then we are in for a treat.
Muramasa next please 👍

I'll consider it if it's a good port on Switch. I don't really need to keep rebuying these games otherwise. Switch is easy to access for me.

I hope they announce the western release soon. I don't want to see this take whole year to make it here like 13 Sentinels did.

Vanillaware continues to ignore PC

Anyways, not here to complain about platforms or port beg. I'll just buy the game and emulate it. Super exciting news. I'd love for them to do a whole collection of their games.

The name ALONE is worth the purchase. On top of that they are adding new content and some QOL adjustments over the PS2 version (mid battle saves FTW).

I'm still deciding if I should get it for my PS5 or Switch.

My guess is they think there is no audience for their games in Xbox.
Go for Nintendo Switch.

Im Gonna Get this version.

Its time to Nippon Ichi Bring the guided fate paradox for Nintendo Switch too.

Played it originally on the PS2. Usual great story from Vanillaware. A better Hogwarts story than JK Rowling ever did.

Danjin44 Danjin44 I'm sorry mate but I don't remember this game, or perhaps I forgot.

But since you like, it must be good. Anything to say about this game? Vanillaware is already a good point in my view.

To me it has unique take on RTS gameplay within 2D side side-scroller and it has fantastic Vanillaware's signiture artstyle with really good story.
This are awesome news, one of the few vanillaware games I have never played! Hope it gets the Odin Sphere treatment
I think it already is based on the article....
GrimGrimoire OnceMore will include the following new features:

  • New System: "Great Magic" – Four types of "Great Magic" that can be used during battle have been implemented. Activated with newly illustrated cut-ins.
  • High-resolution graphics and widescreen aspect ratio.
  • "Fast-Forward" function for battle and story parts.
  • "Mid-Battle Save" function for battle parts.
  • The difficulty level of "Hard" mode has been adjusted to be more challenging than the original version.
  • New System: Skill Tree – Earn coins by completing tasks set for each stage. Coins can be used to strengthen familars. Coins can also be refunded.
  • Gallery Mode – Enjoy various illustrations.

It's a really simplistic RTS. Fun enough but play if for the story and art not the gameplay.
Personally its my big reason why I enjoyed the gameplay back PS2, I'm not exactly in to RTS games like Starcraft but this game combat more simple but really fun it worked well for consoles.

Going to pass if it's just a remaster.
Based on articles this game is going to get same treatment as Odin Sphere Leifthrasir.

Yes! IIRC, the story kinda reminded me of Harry Potter (since it's a magic school). The RTS was unique though, it's using side view. I think it was pretty hard later on, but maybe because I didn't really understand the system when I played it as a kid.

Muramasa next please.
